Tough climbs, fun routes with a tall, slightly angled wall, and many climbing options. The bouldering wall is huge, too!

As far as the climbing itself goes, there's a bouldering area where you can climb without a harness or ropes.

We visited over winter break with our extended families but planned to have only a handful of…read morejumpers - 2 adults, 4 kids (7, 5, 3, 3) and an infant who is barely walking. We chose the "extreme fun" pass for everyone and were told that the infant would be the same price ($24.99) for everyone. What? She can't even walk. That's crazy. But okay fine, a policy is a policy, she can watch. So our total for 6 people was $150 + socks ($3 each) + tax but wait! There's a 5.5% fee for using a credit card so another $8+. The website casually mentions a "discounted cash price" but a 5% upcharge is absurd. In 2026 who carries around that kind of cash? When we asked about this up charge, the attendant grew very defensive and began trying to explain that the credit card company requires the charge and that it's not a fee they can eat as a business expense because they have to pay for Virginia gaming taxes or something. Look, I get it, I work in customer service too and don't always agree with my employer's policies (but still have to support them) but this man was acting like the fee would come directly out of his paycheck and being quite aggressive about it. We aren't stupid and know that businesses have out of pocket costs but pretending like they need to be passed on to the consumer at an exact 1:1 ratio is silly, ESPECIALLY when you're charging $3 for a $0.10 pair of socks. Anyways, we paid and kept it moving. The kids liked jumping and then the older girls liked the climbing walls. It wasn't very crowded and most of the bigger kids/teens were corralled in one of the dodgeball courts. I assume this is where all of the employees were too because there was absolutely no one available anywhere else on the floor. Not a huge deal because we had plenty of adults and our younger kids were safe to play on the other surfaces. They really liked the small playground (although it really should be more like 8 and under, 12 is pretty big for an area obviously for younger kids). The foam pits in the jousting area and ladder section were disappointing because the foam is old and crusty off and pretty gross but the trampoline parts were fairly clean. There is a section with "ninja" kind of activities that seemed to be an afterthought and had a lot of unfinished wood and a dangerous open area to the bottom of the trampoline springs that we stayed clear of but could be a big issue for older kids. When we were all getting tired of jumping and wanted to do the arcade and bumper cars is when things started going downhill again. We asked the person at the front for help with the bumper cars and he said someone on the floor could help but there was no one to be found. One employee at the front desk, one at the snack bar, and not a soul on the floor, no one at the climbing wall, and not a soul in the arcade/big slide area. They finally managed to find someone but were visibly annoyed so it was an uncomfortable situation. After we were done doing arcade games we went to the prize area to cash in our points for trinkets. The kids mostly played games that didn't get many points so I knew we wouldn't have a lot but we had 3 cards and wanted to combine the points to get a couple very small items. There were other families there with a gazillion points though and the man working there seemed super overwhelmed by the process and focused on their high ticket items, which is understandable. He told us the individual amounts but then when he was combining them the amount was somehow less than they were alone? He kept adding them but as other people came up he'd start doing things with them and mixing up everyone's cards. It was super confusing for everyone, especially our 2 kids who kept picking out treats and then being told actually no wrong amount. He finally came up with a number that was in the same ballpark as the initial individual cards and we got a couple bouncy balls. Overall, this was quite a day. The jumping part was fine but the customer service overall needs some serious help. They are obviously significantly understaffed which is annoying at best but potentially very dangerous with no one on the floor. The credit card situation is annoying too and should be more clear on the website, but truly the ability to take cards is a business convenience and expense that I expect a business to absorb.

The staff had a lot going on guiding and checking in groups to their resort and getting ready for their Oktoberfest party they were hosting, they absolutely had all justification to turn us away but they didn't! They gave us a time frame to show up and they totally delivered and that's what earned them 5 stars). They were already guiding a group through so we just tagged along at the back end. The whole experience is pretty entertaining, they had the group working together (some were helping catch the person zipping, some helping un-harness, some helping move a platform used to get folks off the line), it was a pretty clever system and it helped move things along quickly and keep people involved. Anyways, my husband and I were debating all week wondering if it would be worth it ($25 for one ride) and the answer is... YES! 900 feet long, you end up going about 45 mph, and it's not a gradual 45. Once you step off the platform you drop pretty quick! People weighing 60-250lbs can ride and the guides are great about safety but flexibility. It doesn't take an incredibly long time (we got done in an hour and only because we waited for the group to finish) but it may be different for others. Overall, I was so happy we went and that the staff let us come. The staff was awesome, the line was fun, the pricing fair.

The equipment provided was in excellent condition and we easily established a team spirit among the zip liners. If you are up for the experience, be fit enough to hike up to the top of the platform while carrying your substantial harness that weighs about 10 pounds (at least that's what it felt like). There are also many other activities available beyond hiking. I highly recommend this facility and am anxious to return for another zip line adventure!

Well it's a bit more challenging than I expected. Good news is I have tips to help if you have never been. First of all... WARNING! Must be physically fit for approximately 2 hours roundtrip of rough terrain. You can take breaks, a few benches are provided. I needed a lot! There is a parking lot at the beginning of the trail. Overflow is at the Visitors Center across the street. Wear proper footwear, no sandals or tennis shoes. Bring hydration and maybe even a small first aid kit. You will absolutely need to hydrate. Choose a cooler and more importantly DRY day. So the ideal timing is AM and season is Fall. Once at the top use caution and be willing to help others. If you see litter pick it up. I saw a single tissue that disappeared in my pocket. Dogs are welcome and they will love it if fit enough to conquer. They need hydration too! Recommend not going alone. Makes sense to me. However if you must the trail is typically busy. Camera is a must, a camera phone serves two purposes. However there is little to no cell service. Don't count on using your phone. I have AT&T and text only worked. There are Bear warnings for a reason, they are in the area. Most common on the parking area. Do NOT leave food out Finally hikers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Be willing to converse with others, help if necessary. On my hike we were short of hydration and was provided a bottle of water. You will love the experience. The views are stunning!!!

Our experience wasn't great - but I think that's largely because from the online photos we were expecting something closer to what we've experienced back home at our local climbing gyms. The whole facility is much more catered to serious climbers than kids. I was amazed watching some of the adult folks who came in and tried the huge bolder walls. We came in about 2 in the afternoon. It took almost 30 minutes just to get checked in, rental equipment, MANY statements about how my children could be harmed or die, and then a whole bunch of instruction on how to do the harnesses. That was new for us - every other climbing gym we've been to has staff to assist children with this. Then we were faced with the fact that there are only 5 climbing paths that have safety harnesses - this didn't end up being too much of an issue because no other kids came in, so my boys had free-reign to swap between the paths, but if there had been more kids - I anticipate we'd have been waiting around a lot to take turns. Also my arthritis was quite unhappy with me after over an hour of fastening harnesses. If we end up back in town, would we do it again? Maybe - the pricing was fair, and the boys did end up enjoying it. But if you're looking for a child-specific activity, that's not really what the vibe of this place is.
