How cool is this spot?! Fortunately, we were able to reserve a table at the last minute. First,…read moreambience. Real candles, classic blues and jazz music, plus lots of antique flair oozing historic vibes. A retro phone booth for the server station: nice! Next, service: Brooke is the server who now sets the standard in my mind for her excellent tableside manner! She was on the ball and then some, with a fun personality and friendly demeanor, making sure we enjoyed our night out. I loved the menus, both food and drinks. I tried a Citrine martini and it was ice cold with fresh lemon -- yum. My dining companion had a seasonal tap brew and the perch fish fry; he ate every bite! I had to try the shrimp and grits. It's not something you see on the menu every day in Wisconsin, but I have a love for it from trips down South... And they nailed it. Fragrant with garlic and generously portioned, it had a brothy, exquisite base. It makes my mouth water to recall! We will return for some of the other delicious items on the menu. Thanks for a great evening!

Started out with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Very fresh, and the cocktail sauce was tangy with a citrus undertone. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and the glaze only added to them. Plenty of beautiful side dishes, omelet station, and other tasty dishes, complimented them! Bottomless mimosas on the house! If you had room, which I didn't, the pastry assortment was outstanding. The staff were very cordial and accommodating.

RECOMMENDED I recently visited Charcoal Grill in Burlington,…read moreWisconsin with clients; I had an enjoyable time there. The food is excellent; I had a Brau Burger with cheese and fried onions on a Kaiser roll. The burger was charcoal-grilled to perfection: juicy and tender, and with plenty of flavour. There is also a 'fix-it' bar where you can get all the toppings you want for your burger, including lettuce, tomatoes, onions (red and white), pickles, and pickle spears. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, without hovering; she brought our drinks and our orders very quickly and was very nice to us. I'm sorry but I don't remember her name. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was really refreshing to enjoy this during the hot summer weather. The interior decor is somewhat industrial-chic I guess; I suppose it is popular with some people. The restaurant was very clean; the carpark and the grounds were absolutely spotless. Overall I enjoyed my visit very much, and would definitely return. RECOMMENDED

When I walked in and seen that they had no more alcohol, I knew this wasn't a good sign. The saving grace for this place was the waitress. She was a hard-working, friendly, helpful employee. I have to say, this place reminded me of a sick person in the hospital, dying, and it's only a matter of time before it's over. The waitress started out with saying there's no rotisserie chicken today. Another bad sign. I ordered a burger because I wanted that charcoal flavor that they promote. My buddy got a grilled chicken sandwich. I opted for soup because it was a healthier option than fries. I got their version of a patty melt, and the onions and bread kind of tasted "off." Old and rehashed beyond its days type "off." I eventually stripped both off of the sandwich, and went in for the burger. The burger had a strong cow taste, and I'm not saying that in a good way. The soup was edible, but nothing great. I used to love this place as a kid. Now, as I aged, so has the Charcoal Grill. They are a very sick patient, I suggest a DNR order be put in place for this patient. It was so bad that they probably should just step on this patient's feeding tube, and be done with the misery. I will not be back and I do not suggest anyone visit for the first time. It is a shell of its once decent quality and needs a resurrection. I give it two stars for the memories and the hard working waitress.

I'm going to order pizza and review it once I settle more in my new place. So far Spring Grove has never disappointed me. I used to vacation near here as a kid and we would always get excited to go camping at our site. I gotta say I never saw it coming! I did notice that a lady at the bar ordered a nice Italian Beef, it looked full and pleasing to the eye. She made it half way through and wrapped up the rest for her husband to finish for his late night snack which I found charming. I think I called her a better woman than I! Another guy was having something at the end of the bar but I didn't notice it. There were a couple of people in the front dining room and nobody on the patio, but I suspect that it is a different story in the evenings. Tons of televisions, sporty decor, clean bathroom, spotless kitchen and a fun menu. I will be back. I like getting pizza for takeout and sharing it with the beau walking back. It's exercise we agree upon.

A familiar waitress was our server and that a definite plus Food came quickly as usual minus the cornmeal on the bottom of pizza ( not a problem for us) everything was great tasting and service great as well. Then came the bill... large thin crust meatlovers is advertised on the menu for $28. The bill charged us $18 instead of $14. Our other pizza was also priced not at a 50% discount. Asked our server if she could explain this difference she said when she started her shift she was told to ring things up this new way. Basic pizza is 50% off but all toppings are charged at regular price. That includes the specialty pizzas listed on the menu for a specific price. We figured we were charged $8 more than usual under this new policy. I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble just looking to expose what I think is false advertising. The original owner served true 1/2 price pizza and filled the restaurant last night the restaurant was really empty. I hope this isn't going to happen with other special nights ! It would be a real shame to lose a great restaurant that has a bar in a town where the normal is to have a bar that just happens to serve some food! Don't let this happen!
