I visited shortly after I arrived to Lake Lawn Resort, because my room wasn't ready and I had to wait to check in. So I strolled over to The Lookout Bar & Eatery for a lil' drink and a Caesar salad to kill some time. I got a hefeweizen to start, and then a Blue Moon with an orange slice in it. Both of these were on tap at the bar. The bar was kind of empty when I visited, so I had my server's full attention, and she made sure that everything was all good. I got a Caesar salad to eat, which was fine. It wasn't the best Caesar, and I don't think I would order it again, but it made me less hungry, and it was a salad, so it did its job. Its mediocrity didn't stop me from eating it all. A couple of days later, I visited The Lookout Bar for a big glass of red wine to take back to my room. The server poured me a hearty glass and said, "This should get you drunk!" I appreciated his enthusiasm and confidence in his pour. Overall, I think I would visit The Lookout for drinks but not food. Or if you do get food, then set your expectations low.

It's hard to define The Northcott Liquorette. It's a bar but it's not a traditional American bar…read morewith TVs and comfort snack foods. It's not a bar with bad lighting and music. It's not a restaurant because you wouldn't just come here for the food although the food is good. It's close to a lounge I would say but again not exactly a lounge either. In any case it's a great place to hang out with a friend or friends or a date . The cocktails are made well and well thought out. They are not your traditional cocktails you find everywhere and I love an original place with unique ideas. Make a reservation, be on time, order a dish and a few drinks and enjoy yourself.

There was no fun entrance or password; we waited at the bottom of the stairs, never got greeted, and walked up. We got seated right away and ended up asking to move seats because we were seated in the middle of a large/loud party. Our new seats were good; we did have to share a table with another couple. Our server was the best part; his name was Z. He did, however, have to cover the entire room, which seemed impossible for one person. The service did slow down mid-experience, and then we were given the option to move or leave to accommodate their next reservation, which was odd. We had some appetizers, which were okay, but we had no plates or napkins, so it was a bit messy to eat. The dirty chips were a highlight. The drinks were alright, but for being the 'main event' I thought they would offer more options for people who enjoy sweet drinks. They did not have any. The sweetest option was a pineapple option that had a thick foam on it. I took one sip and gave it to my husband. He did enjoy the fun Absinthe Foundatian; however, they only had one, so there was a lot of waiting for many tables as it was passed around. The best part was our server, Z, surprised us with donuts for my husband's birthday. They were very yummy! Overall, it was a super cute place, but definitely a one-time only visit for us.

It's very rustic and charming inside this place and very speakeasy. The hostess and the servers definitely are playing a role. For dinner, we started with the cheese curds and bruschetta flight. Both were quick and a perfect start. For the entrees, we ordered the NY Strip and Lobster Ravioli and also a creamed spinach side. All in all, food was good. The service was great and the whole experience was fun. There was some entertaining decor on the walls of the washroom!

It is a really cool place. You can tour the floor with all of the hats you can try on and items to look at. We had a piano player which was nice. And yes I tried on some hats! For an older home it was very nice. You park on one side of the lot as the other is for guests. Outside in the front yard was spots for pictures as we went around Halloween. The selection was decent. Cold salad items and peel and eat shrimp. Sweet side with small cakes, chocolate eclairs, etc. The hot bar had beef, bacon, sausages, eggs potatoes and some other items. You can order eggs Benedict with the waitresses which was delicious. A true mimosa breakfast, I will return when I go back.
