We wanted to try the famous Spotted Cow beer, which is only available in Wisconsin. The place had cool wall art and Halloween decorations that gave it a quirky feel. We spent about 30 minutes there around midnight, and the laid-back style made it a fun stop. Our bartender was friendly, and service was quick. Even the restroom had cute decorations, including a lady mannequin lamp, and it was super clean. Overall, this place is an experience you must try!

The staff is attentive and the prices are cheap -- considering the quality, incredibly cheap. I have not had better food anywhere. Not even at home, and my wife is a really good cook, Want good food? At the time, it consisted of one building, but fell in love with their beer and quaint farmland charm. Since then, a trip to Dusterbeck has become a motivating factor in our annual trip to the area. Needless to say, they've expanded quite a bit since then, but feel everything they've done has only improved the experience. From an expansive beer selection, to serving food, and a great beer garden that can't be beat while listening to a band at sunset, Dusterbeck has became a brewery version of "Field of Dreams."

We played cribbage with a board provided from a large library of games in the "Pig Barn"; a nice facility located next to the main bar, with nice open garage doors to allow for shade and a nice breeze. Pizza was brought out to us. The pizza was very good and the Hazy IPA was probably the best hazy I've ever had. Took a four pack home. Beautiful clean facility, friendly service, good (though limited) food and excellent beer.

Located right down the street from Tibbets Elementary School (for the off-duty teacher), this rural…read moreElkhorn watering hole is truly depressing. When you walk in, it is hard to determine if they are currently remodeling or trying to impress upon a new look for bars. Most of the bar sits in what reminds me of some guy's iving room. In fact, the bar is literally attached to someone's house. Where else in this country can you find a bar attached to a house? Do you need a permit for this? Most of the decor is made of chipboard and the mixed drinks are poured stiff and cheap. An OK pool table but other than that, rough around the edges. Townies definitely abound here and I have yet to see this place with more than five people. ** Update: As of Christmas Eve, 2006 -- a contingent of Elkhorn Area High School alums and friends will be celebrating the first annual Depression Eve, a gathering of drunks and cheap drinks while ringing in Christmas amongst chipboard, domestic tappers and townies who have yet to finish their holiday shopping at 3:30am at the Elkhorn SuperAmerica Gas Station.

Service was pleasant enough but s-l-o-w. Restaurant was not busy but there was one large party of about a dozen which seemed to overwhelm the two servers. For the entire time we were there we didn't see any front of house staff (manager, host, bussers) other than two servers. Cleanliness was poor. We were there for over an hour and tables near us were not cleared or cleaned at all. Dirty dishes with leftover food sitting on them for the duration of our meal. Food all over the floor. Not an appetizing atmosphere. All-in-all poor value for the money.

That is one of my favorite dishes at most Italian restaurants. This looked like boiled chicken breasts, no color at all. The "lemon" sauce was like water and did not taste like lemon at all. More like vinegar. The "grilled"asparagus was sitting in the water and tasted boiled, not grilled. Mashed potatoes were decent, but sitting in a bowl of watery sauce did not help. Do not order this if you are expecting traditional Piccata. The angel hair pasta with "marinara" sauce my husband ordered was very bland, it was more like canned regular tomato sauce stirred into pasta...no joke. We wonder if there is a different owner, and cook. The nice young man who was our server was very good. We will not be back, and that is sad aswe liked it before.
