Remember that this is both a VFW Post and a biker bar. That said, the Bunker is extremely welcoming, and I love to take visitors there during the more quiet times. The inside is very much a museum of the men and women who fought for our country and the story of them - not the politics around the wars themselves. The tanks, planes, and vehicles on the grounds are absolutely worth the visit, but be careful as wasps tend to build nests in them, so if you bring kids, don't leave them unattended. It's been years since I ate there - was standard bar food. But I do love to stop and get a beer and chat with the folks who are at the bar when it's a little slower. Never had an uncomfortable encounter, but I don't go when the parking lot is full. Always meet interesting and cool people! read more

The meat raffle is back, folks! Honestly, I didn't even know that The Bunker had a meat raffle or that they stopped raffling meat, but now it's back! There was a lot of meat being raffled. A pork loin as long as my arm, ten pounds of crab legs, and a big old Christmas ham. All for the low price of $5 for three tickets. Or was that $3 for 5 tickets? The $2.50 tappers made my memory a little fuzzy. read more

If you're a vet or just like military memorabilia and good food, check out the Bunker. The owners are really nice to talk to and have been around the world. There is a million things to look at out and inside the place to give you reason enough to come back. The beers are cheap and the food is good. I think that anyone that goes in will want to come back. Bring some military 'junk' in with you and they just may put it on their wall for future patrons. Great little bar/food. read more

I've been here several times, especially to watch Sunday Packer games. It's patriotic and serves as a VFW post too! Outside is a lot of military vehicles and planes. A regular museum actually. Sunday's they have make your own Bloody Marys. If your in the area it's worth a stop. Check it out! read more

I live in NYC but am from WI so I stopped in here while visiting home. I flew home because my mom was in the hospital and I hadn't been anywhere other than the hospital and home for a week, until I remembered running past this bar that had a tank outside, and I thought I might go crazy if I didn't get somewhere other than those two locations quickly. To make a long story boring they changed my trip home. Everyone made me feel at home, and it was exactly what I needed. I went in alone and left feeling like I had some friends to take my mind off of things. I will never forget my time there, and my first (amazing) spam sandwich... who knew? Finally had time today to join yelp and post a review about my experience with the Bunker. I visited for the first time in May 2013 and can't wait to return. This was an awesome place I loved the military theme. The FOOD was awesome, large portions, the burgers were huge and delicious well worth the price and the service was fast and friendly. The young man who was cooking was super nice to my family, even got us drinks since the bartender was busy with other customers. I will definitely go back and tell my friends. It is a bar so you need to expect that taking your children to a bar is at your own dissection, however during the day on a weekday the bar is not busy and they have an outside deck area to eat on if you want to enjoy the weather and sit in a quite area. FOOD IS GREAT 5 STARS SERVICE 5 ATMOSPHERE 3-4 The place is cool, not 100% children friendly toward evening, however during day taking the kids for food and sitting on the outside deck is nice. Also they have plenty of food that the kids loved. PRICE on the high side for food however the cook had sure a pleasant attitude it made it worth the extra buck to have a person service us that enjoyed his job. Even though the food is higher in price it is well worth the price when you see the portions they give. Drinks are about normal bar price. Overall experience was really great. read more

Interesting place for sure. However, service was practically non-existent. One bartender and one cook, neither of which had any sense of urgency. Waited an hour and 15 minutes for wings. The gal tending bar was completely clueless and devoid of any personality. Definitely a great drinking place for regulars. I'm sure vets love it and I respect that. Just not a welcoming place to the general public for a beer and something to eat. We won't be back. read more

Alas, we didn't win any meat, mainly because we didn't buy any tickets. I used to live in Waterford for many years and visited the Bunker at least once a week. Great drink specials, fun raffles, great events and good drinks. Friendly crowd, usually a lot of bikers. Love the old war planes in their back yard. read more

This is an adult-themed VFW filled with awesome war and military memorabilia, but unlike most VFW's, the back yard has jets, helicopters, jeeps, tents, and a plethora of other relics set up like a military bunker. As others have noted, the names of the food are not Politically Correct and the food won't win any awards, but it's normal bar-fare and the drinks are indeed cheap. It's a great biker destination for weekend riders, and you will usually find several bikes parked outside. This is NOT a 1%'er joint and there is no danger going in here from any of the riders. For those coming up from Chicagoland, this is a nice destination for a ride on a sunny day. A truly unique and awesome place. read more

Armed forces theme may be well-intended, BUT 1.) understand that this is a biker bar, 2.) not a place to take kids unless you're prepared to explain the macabre names of the food (french fries are called 'pungi sticks'). And 3.) cover your kids' ears (and your own) for the x rated lyrics the biker band outside is singing. Average (below) bar food at cheap prices doesn't make up for creepy, disrespectful experience. read more

I just visited here for the first after living in the area for many years. The place is divided into two rooms one with tables and the other with a large bar, both with a strong military them. They had several beers on tap and the service was excellent. It is a popular stop in the summer for motorcycles. read more

A HUGE favorite of mine! Love going up here on the bike. On a nice day, it's almost a motorcycle show with the amount in the lot. Just a great place if you're a vet or just a military buff. The memorabilia is incredible-from the Cobra attack chopper out front, the tank, and the aircraft out back! People are great, the deck is comfortable (they are remodeling it now) and the beer is cold! A must stop! read more

Pretty cool place. Went on Labor Day for a few drinks around lunch time. Bartender was very nice and helpful.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. There mid day and took a while to get the food. One bartender/server. Again, food was very good.

This place is meant for VFW Combat Veterans, Veterans, Bikers, and lastly the those who never served "pussies" who participate in paint ball wars, but want to look like the rest of us. We enjoy anyone who is truthful! The food is average, we don't give a Damn, it's a place for those who are not overly sensitive, or spring loaded to be offended. really, drove our bikes up from Chicago. great first impression, then we ordered food...BIG MISTAKE!!! told it would take about 30 mins...ok no problem.an hour and forty five minutes went by, we asked how long ...its on the grill. LIE!!! said 5-10 minutes. From ordering to eating 2 1/2 hours!!! really. my beef I think was done when we ordered...DRY!!!! burnt bread AWFULL!! everyone's burgers were good. onion rings a greasy mess. we were not looking for 5 star. however, we were looking to eat. will never head to this destination again!!!!!!!!! read more

I used to live in Waterford and would often frequent the establishment. But this last visit on 07/31/2016 I will be finding a new place when I visit. The bartender was very rude. I tried to buy drinks for 8 of us and she stated I will get the 4 that needs drinks but not the other 4. I said please give the other 4 drink chips, she then said NO because they have a drink chip in front of them. So apparently the place is not out to make money and you cannot have more than one drink chip in front of you. I brought this up to the owner which did nothing. The bartender was too busy talking with the owner and it was almost impossible to get a drink unless you went to the end of the bar were she was and asked her. Needless to say many people walked out including the 8 of us which left a couple of people in the bar. From talking to the locals they do not go when Anna or Annie is bartending because of this. This saddens me because it was always a favorite of mine. read more

Been to this bar for the last 12 years. I wouldn't bring kids her because it is a biker/VFW and you should EXPECT the language not to be kid or soft ear friendly. The food is always good and if you take offence to the names of the items, tough it out and grow a couple. This is a bar for those people looking for a great time, not for fair weathered bikers. read more
