Everything was 5 star, from the excellent service to the luxurious accommodations. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was always good at the Club Level hospitality suite. We appreciated the attentive service at the beach, pool and Sails bar. We will definitely be back!

First off, the Staff makes this place what it is. Amazing! I can't begin to share the quality service they provide. Above and beyond are the words that describe them. They are a great team of friendly professionals. We were upgraded to a suite that provided 2 full baths, a generous living area, and two queen beds with a large walk-in closet. The ambiance was old-world, carbibean, and it was charming. While staying on the concierge level, you are granted access to the concierge lounge. The access provides you breakfast, lunch, and dinner options every day during your stay at no additional upcharge. The bar is unlimited and the food is fantastic. The lounge is beautifully decorated with beautiful views of the landscape. (One detail that was thoughtful, was they provided two separate areas. Adults, and a family-friendly section. This is a great plus that was appreciated.) The buffet provides a variety of fresh options that is continuously refreshed, including dessert. Every meal I chose to eat in the lounge was delicious! The concierge level also provides you with an exclusive beach front that is convenient and private. The resort offers many dining options on site. Alloro was just as great as the staff was perfect! The grounds are beautifully manicured with gorgeous foliage, and walking throughout the property is stunning. I would return to the Ritz in St. Thomas again and would recommend them without any doubt. It was an amazing time!

So much potential. The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas is a gorgeous property. Well manicured. The staff are very polite and friendly. The actual service is very slow. Very slow. Getting a bellman, checking in, getting a drink, ordering at dinner - slow. For the prices charged for the rooms and F&B - they should be on it. There seemed to be enough staff. Great touches - like passing out complimentary fruit and cookies poolside. Wonderful. But, you can't get a drink. Service at Coconut Cove was the exception. Excellent. Prices were on the verge of ridiculous- even for a Ritz-Carlton. $75 for a double of Macallan 12? Obscene. Small chicken wings were literally $3 a piece. $18 for 6 wings. The burger at Sail's was clearly formerly frozen super thin beef patty. Unacceptable. I can afford it. I understand the prices. Where is the value? I am happy to pay for an experience - deliver it. Could be inflation. Island pricing. Island time. I struggled with the experience for the prices charged.

Great experience, the staff is super friendly especially Maria, Ruth, and Sean in the club lounge. I definitely recommend getting the club package, it includes access to a lounge with meals 3 times a day (so you avoid paying resort prices for every meal), and also a private section of the beach. The service is great. I would recommend coming prepared with sunscreen etc, we went to the gift shop for sunscreen and sunglasses and ended up paying 90$ which is overpriced but expected. I highly recommend the day trip to Saint John. Overall great experience, only chose 4 stars because they were doing some remodeling by the beach which was quite noisy. (Also a complimentary late check out which was nice)

My review includes 2 focuses the hotel in general (not a registered guest) and the sunset Sail. 1. I wasn't a guest of the hotel I had a spa reservation and had the most divine experience, Brian was remarkable. The service I had was the body balancer. Don't hesitate just book it. The spa is simple in a luxurious and relaxing way. Not over done just right. Service impeccable. After my service I was delighted that I was able to lounge around the pool without feeling unwelcomed. The pool is ideal for those want to wade and relax because it's not too deep and there are friendly staff who will take your drink and food order and bring it poolside. I enjoyed the hot tub as well. I ordered the BBC. It's insanely good. Try one. I also stayed for dinner and had a delicious lobster water side. Warning: bring mosquito repellent! I gained about 50 new bites during dinner. I then was provided a shuttle to the lobby to catch a taxi. They put out fresh towels, fresh baked cookies and it was just such a wonderful experience. I plan to actually book my stay next time I go. They truly go above and beyond and I so appreciate that. 2. Sail into an unforgettable adventure! This was a very fun and special experience. The Ritz Carlton is a stunning hotel and a great destination for a quick sip at the bar prior to boarding. The catamaran is beautiful, clean and in immaculate condition. The Captain and crew are so friendly. This is a true full service experience where you will feel like a king or queen. The sailing is smooth and easy so very good for people like me easily susceptible to sea sickness. I didn't have a problem at all. The appetizers were delicious and fresh. Open bar was a nice feature with tons of options for everyone. A few things to help you prepare: you will need to remove your shoes and in order to step into the boat you have to step in knee height water so dress accordingly. Do not hesitate to book your sail. The cost is fair and very much worth it. I have no regrets it was such a magical part of my trip. It could be part of yours too

Had a fantastic stay for one night pre cruise and was able to take advantage of many of the resorts outlets for food and drinks. The pool beach restaurant "Sails" for drinks during the day and then later in the evening for the weekly "fish market" dinner service and breakfast at Bluewater the following morning. Highly recommend the dinner service if your there for the Fish Market. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was grilled perfectly and paired it with a bottle of Kim Crawford Sav. Blanc. The southwind cafe for coffees and such in the early morning rivals your local coffee house in quality. We even found espresso martinis there to take to the pool later. The entire RC staff I encountered were professional, polite and ready to assist. Check in was efficient and the bell staff were very accommodating with the luggage both at check in and departure. Great views and food in a clean resort that did not feel crowded.

This was terribly disappointing! I was here for a milestone birthday and at almost $1,000 a night, it was a disaster! This is the most badly maintained Ritz Carlton I have ever been to. Don't get me wrong, it is a GORGEOUS property, but when they can't even clean the glass windows at the entrance to the hotel, then Houston we have a problem! I used an espresso cup in my room and I have posted a pic of what was replaced as a washed cup and saucer. Gross! We hung out by the beach on the first day there and for nearly 3 hours not a single attendant came to us asking if we wanted drinks or anything. We pulled out lounge chairs by ourselves to a shaded spot and went in search of towels by ourselves. When someone eventually came around, we ordered cocktails and fries (lol, they had a water issue so that's all we could get from one of the 3 restaurants. The pool/beachside restaurant was closed because of same water issue) and it took almost 45 mins to get to us. We would request turn down service, go out for the full day, return to find the room the way we left it. The only indication we would have that someone came in would be chocolate on the unmade bed and the fact that they'd turned the tv on. The dinner cruise to St. Croix is a NO! If you must, eat before you go. The drinks on the boat are good, but forget about the snacks. They'll promise to be able to get you into a number of restaurants in St. Croix but thanks to most of them being closed due to Covid, the ones that are open will be packed solid! You'll most likely end up in a bar and even that will require quite a bit of waiting to get seated. The description was so misleading that when we complained we were given a refund for the cruise. If you ask concierge to make a reservation for you, call back after 5 minutes to make sure that they did, and then call yet again! I almost missed my sunrise birthday photo shoot because we didn't get the wake up call we requested and they didn't get a taxi for us as we requested. If you speak to 3 different people, you'll get 3 different information about a particular thing. A disaster! They gave us totally bs information about restaurants, like telling us they close at 6pm when you can get food as late as 10, to telling us the restaurants were fully booked when they didn't even call. This happened when we asked for reservations for De Coal Pot and Caribbean Fish Market. Save yourself the headache, make your reservations yourself and call your taxi yourself. Ps. Their taxi service, which is really a bus, is quite efficient. I can't tell you what the food is like because after our cocktail and fries experience, we decided not to dine at the hotel at all. I will say though, that the complimentary cocktails that they pass around when you go up to the reception area are good. My friend who was in contact with them in advance to order a birthday cake for me, flowers and champagne to be delivered to the room as a surprise at check in eventually had to tell me that the terrible service started even before we got there. She had the most difficult time getting them to bake a simple birthday cake. It entailed a no less than 20 email chain and a full month of planning with multiple emails sent with no response. I did the best I could to have a good time there but it's not a place I would be returning to or recommending. Beautiful property, disastrous management.

I recently stayed at The Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas and am extremely disappointed with my experience. As a current Titanium member (nearly a lifetime gold member), I have never been so dissatisfied with a property like the one I stayed in last week and I'm reaching out to rectify the situation. To add to my disappointment, I spent all of 2023 building up points to use for a milestone anniversary with my wife and the first time being at a Ritz should have been special. The check in staff was friendly when we first arrived and the view from the hotel was very nice, but it quickly deteriorated. Below is a list of issues that we unfortunately experienced during our stay. 1. Upon arriving to the room, it was obvious that the room wasn't actually cleaned after the previous guests' stay. The table was covered in a substantial amount of drink residue from the previous guests. The doors and light switches had some brown substance smeared on them, which we cleaned up ourselves. 2. The room had ants coming out of the electrical socket on the nightstand so we were removing ants from the bed each night. 3. The room supplies were sporadically restocked, which is not a big deal within itself. However, when we called the front desk asking for minimal supplies (2 coffee cups), they never brought them even after a follow up call. 4. The pool appeared to not be cleaned for multiple days. There was scum floating on the surface for all the days of our stay. (Picture attached) 5. The men's bathroom next to the infinity pool smelled strongly like stale urine and had standing water on the floor every single day we were there. Perhaps the toilets were leaking onto the floor, which is not only disgusting, but also unhygienic. 6. The living room table had not been cleaned in months (picture attached). I understand the staff not dusting every day, but letting dust collect for so long that there's a build up like this makes me question the quality of your hotel. 7. The toilet paper handle was broken in the main bathroom so every time we used it, the toilet paper roll would fall on the floor. While this might seem like something silly to highlight, it makes me question why The Ritz Carlton is a luxury brand if something this simple cannot be fixed so that guests can have a normal experience in a bathroom. 8. There was significant garbage throughout the hotel's landscape. For example, garbage was in plain sight at the edge of the landscaping around the pool that was there during our entire stay. Some of the trash looked like it had been there for weeks. 9. We called ahead 4 separate times to the front desk who ensured they would relay the message to the bell service because they said we could not be connected directly to the bell service. One time we asked for an attendant to escort us from our room to the lobby with a golf cart, but after waiting 15 minutes, the attendant never showed up so we walked to the lobby only to find the attendants sitting in the golf carts on their phones. The other 3 times, we requested our valeted car to be pulled up, and all 3 times our car wasn't there by the time we walked to the lobby. 10. The general attitude of most of the staff was beyond subpar, I mean, we're talking about basic courtesy as a fellow human being that was lacking at your hotel.

Hashtag #rcmemories for a reason, expectations levels are met so you can truly indulge in your travel purpose and luxury during your stay on property. Of three hotels I have stayed over the years, this is by far the best and recommended for those with a high taste level. While not the same grandeur nor as many amenities of either corporate-owned or locations such as those in U.S. cities, Shanghai, et al the brand's class meshed with this island's touches is well executed. The restaurant is good as was the service and hospitality all around. The shop on premise was convenient. #viewviewsviews Orig Post 3/18/17

Our wedding was in December, and it's now almost February--still no response from the venue or the owner. The issue? We paid extra for a higher-tier bar package, only to find that our bar signage was hidden, and the bartender had no idea how to make any of the drinks. Classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds and Negronis were made poorly (when they were made at all), and in the end, most guests resorted to drinking only wine, champagne, or beer--completely negating the premium package we paid for. We made menus for the drinks and they magically disappeared. To make matters worse, we were previously assured via email that the bartender was experienced, only to later find out that they were hired the day before the event. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. We reached out multiple times to resolve this fairly, including requesting a partial refund for a service we didn't receive. We were met with silence. Someone on Instagram keeps telling us that "someone will reach out," yet here we are, still waiting. If you're considering this venue, be warned: they have no problem taking your money, but when an issue arises, they disappear. We expected better, and at the very least, a response. Mind you, the location is spectacular but the fact that they hired someone without experience to work a wedding is shady and unfair to the guests and couple who paid out of pocket to make this an experience. It was an experience but not one that we smile about when it comes to talking about the bar saturation . 90% of guests are all industry people. Thanks for not responding. I tried.

Drive around and finally find the second entrance, get the check in booth and ask tell the lady our room info. It was VERY hard to understand her accent. We ask which direction and she points in a random direction. So we look around at the little room numbers on the building that we're not visible from the road. NONE of these numbers are in order. We had to get out and walk forever just to find our room, then it was at the very end and no parking available anywhere. Meanwhile the front lady knew which room we were going to, walked past us while it was visibly clear we didn't know where our room was, didn't offer assistance. Even when we asked she ignored us and kept walking. Got our bags out and had to pull them up two flights of stairs. Got into our room and it's just a straight walkway with a bathroom on the side, got the Motel 8 vibe. I immediately stub my foot on the base of the bed. Which by the way, the bed is WAY TO HIGH off the floor, if you roll off this queen bed you will get hurt. I'm 5'0 and had to have my husband push me on the bed. And the bed itself was so incredibly hard, the pillows flat too. I woke up with back pain after 7 hours of sleep. Fridge door is backwards and hits the counter top so the door doesn't open all the way. Oh and the pictures make it seem you can walk down to a beach area, no you absolutely cannot. It's a boat dock! It's got that secluded, east-end feel: far enough from the cruise-ship chaos of Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook that you can actually hear the waves instead of engines, and at night, with the right room, it's just you, the lady, the trade winds, and whatever mischief the darkness allows. Whatever happens at Sapphire stays at Sapphire no prying eyes, no judgment, just the kind of quiet romance that makes you forget the mainland exists. But let's not kid ourselves: this place has seen better decades. It's a condo-style resort with wear and tear showing in the rooms some units feel updated and decent, others lean toward faded Motel 6 vibes with dated fixtures, inconsistent maintenance, and that middle-of-the-road luxury tax that hits harder these days with inflation. You're paying a premium for direct beach access, pools, a marina, nearby spots like Sea Salt for a solid meal, and the privacy that seclusion brings, yet for a few extra bucks you could land something fresher and more polished elsewhere on the island. It's hit-or-miss depending on the unit you draw, and if you're on a tight budget, the value can feel stretched. Still, I've come back multiple times because that beach is iconic, the seclusion is a rare gift in the Virgins, and in the right light with a cold drink and no agenda it delivers exactly the kind of unpretentious escape that keeps pulling you back to these islands. If you're chasing flawless five-star polish, look elsewhere; if you want real, raw, beautiful imperfection with a side of solitude, Sapphire still has soul.
