We had a restful week at this resort. We elected to focus on the resort. We got to the Food Center for some groceries by means of a taxi. The Lanai restaurant was delightful for quality food and drinks. The pool bar refreshed us with drinks; the pool cooled our skin. We had a well stocked condo suite.

Sunset viewed from Lanai - drinks in hand :-)

Always a tough decision to make regarding if one should write a review on a TERRIFIC place - word gets around and you can't get back into the place :-) Side note - there are several "low" star reviews listed for this resort - note that so many of them were PRIOR to the Hurricanes 2017 - prior to any renovations. just a FYI I have been working in the USVI for more than 2 years and had the opportunity to stay at several resorts on the islands. Limetree was my favorite with 6 or 7 stays this past year.  For a single or couple with small children there is no better place on STT than Limetree - guaranteed!   Terrific "boutique" resort, small enough to have that personal feel, yet outstanding accommodations.  I say for single or couples, as most all units are studio with a splash of 1 bedrooms, so if you have active children or teenagers, the villas can get pretty "close".  Studios have nice king beds with a pull-out sofa. Entire resort was completely renovated along with a couple of new buildings after the 2017 hurricanes and opened in late summer of 2020.   Two excellent restaurants on site - Lanai (casual) and Denton's (upscale steakhouse) both have consistently excellent food AND service! Beach is great for snorkeling and spending time in the loungers, however there is a rocky portion that runs most of the shoreline, once over that water is great. SUNSETS - one of the best places to enjoy winter sunsets, happy hour at Lanai and the beach.  Still great sunsets during the summer, but the sun sets over a mountain rather than the Caribbean Sea during the winter months. After working on the islands for an extended time, I will not likely be back, so many more places to get too. So those who read this  - get your reservations !!!  -  you will love Limetree, all so much nicer than Wyndham's sister property Margaritaville; however if you have a family with active children or teenagers, Marriott's Frenchmen's Cove is the place to be; if that happens, you will need to make a trip to Limetree to enjoy Lanai and Denton's for sunset :-)

One of our favorite MVCI properties…read more - - - June, 2025 Visit - - - My wonderful wife planned a relaxing trip for us to St. John's, US Virgin Islands (just east of Puerto Rico), in June, 2025; we had a great time... such a beautiful island! Our flights routed through Atlanta to St. Thomas, as there are no flights to St. John; you get to St. John via ferries from St. Thomas or St. Croix, USVI, or from the British Virgin Islands. The need to route through St. Thomas, coupled with the wonderful visit we enjoyed in 2021, led us to intentionally stay one overnight at the Marriott Frenchman's Cove, and we had a great time and enjoyed one a most beautiful sunset, from the floating mat at the beach. This trip we enjoyed: - an afternoon in the beach, complete with mai tais! - Dinner next door... Luna Mar at the Westin (there is a third Marriott property on the other side of the Westin; two hotels and Frenchman's cove is MVCI) - Morning snorkeling - Breakfast at the pool bar before checking our - Fantastic views from the beach and from our room - Great courtesy by the staff For more about the property, which one of our favorite MVCI properties, the rooms, and more, please see the 2021 review, below. - - - The property - - - Frenchman's Cove is built on a hillside, you arrive at the main desk at a the top of the hill; there are buildings at that level; the other buildings are built lower down the hill, and the property has its own beach. Each building had four or five floors and all have wonderful views. The buildings are colorfully painted, and look great, especially when you're in the water looking back at the shore. - - - The room - - - The rooms are standard MVCI / Marriott Vacation Club rooms: - 2 bedrooms, one king and two full sized beds - 2 bathrooms - Laundry - Kitchens with servings for 8 and all the utensils you need; refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave and coffee machine.. with coffee available; just ask housekeeping for more - Patio table and chairs with a view - Note: if you leave the patio table unattended, you my return to find seagulls arrived and are some of your bacon while you were bringing out the rest of breakfast... :) - nice! Recommendation: bring a Bluetooth speaker for music. - - - The beach & Sunset Cove Bar & Grill - - - This trip we checked and quickly made our way to the beach; the day was sunny and nice and warm but not hot. The resort has a couple large floating mars that are anchored; several adults can lazily get some sun while socializing. We also had a snack at "the pool bar," Sunset Cove Bar & Grill... which offers a good selection of good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacking in between. We enjoyed: - afternoon snack - hummus and carrots & celery; and very good mai tais - breakfast the next morning We enjoyed laying on the big mats floating in the water... you get a tan and stay wet while enjoying the outside. The night we were there, we enjoyed an absolutely beautiful sunset from the floating mat... so nice! The room has a kitchen, but since we stayed only one night, there was less of a need for groceries... so... in the morning, we had a breakfast at the Sunset Cove Bar & Grill - it was a wonderful breakfast of steak and eggs and OJ... with a wonderful view of the beach. - - - MarketPlace - gift shop and mini grocery store - - - The MarketPlace staff is friendly and helpful; they offer pastries, yogurt and other breakfast food, spices and other good for dinners and lunch and a variety of bottles of drinks, many from around the Caribbean. They also offer sunscreen and other items for the outside; and souvenirs - shirts, hats, more. - - - The surf, the lack of on St. Thomas and St. John - - - We have been blessed to visit the Caribbean a couple times and have noticed that there is not much surf, not many waves. On an early trip someone explained that the Caribbean is just at a position in the ocean where the tides are just not very noticeable; brief internet searches suggest the tide only varies from a few inches to a foot or so... such small changes don't lead to many waves. You'll likely see and enjoy hearing waves "lapping at the shore," but you're not likely to do much body surfing... if you have a boogie board, you'll likely be better off leaving it at home. - - - Thank you, Frenchman's Cove staff! - - - ----- ----- -----

Okay so this was an okay stay but, We had a few issues…read more One) if you are in search of good AC be warned this place sometimes is not the best with it. Ours was so bad we had to switch rooms not to mention the hot water in the shower not working. We let the host know and they said they would send someone up to look while we went to have dinner at sugar fin, which was long but we didn't mind. Once we got back they still hadn't had anyone look at it so we suffered one night and got moved to a new room the next morning. The AC goes to 65 but it will only get done to 74 if you are lucky. So be warned. Second) we got late check out for 1pm but we were bombard at 11am over and over again until 1pm. It was ridiculous! Took us twice as long to get out because we had to keep answering the door. Lastly three) me and my mother had a cabana by the spa pool and a spa treatment. These were short treatments but with them you get access to the spa amenities. I was shown the lounge room but nothing else, but my mother who went before me was shown nothing. She didn't even know that it was an option for here to use. These should be shown to everyone. The professionalism there is lacking. Overall the bars and restaurants were great, sometimes you do have to wait but you are on island time so it's not a huge dealbreaker for me at all. Everyone is very nice and friendly even when we needed help. Just keep in mind it is HOT and this may not be worth the price they make you pay.

Look NO further!!!! We had the most relaxing vacation. Exactly what us moms needed. We had room 220 (2 double beds) and a fantastic view. Never needed to rush to the beach to find a spot. Always had a spot at the pool. We sat at the bar most of the time without a problem. Every staff member we met was so nice and friendly (007 is a total gem!!!) - please do not listen to the negative reviews!!! Treat them like people - say "good morning, how are you today?" and they will treat you like family. Ocean was so nice, not crystal clear like Sapphire or Linquist but clean and so nice. Pelicans were super fun to watch. We couldn't stop raving about this place every minute to one another. I was there this Saturday when they had an issue with their water. I want to say - I have never seen a place go above and beyond to make sure the guests were taken care of. I'm sure you all were freaking out but you did so good at mitigating a terrible situation!!! My best friend and I didn't even realize something was wrong till it came to dinner time. We got to our room with a gallon of water and multiple water bottles waiting for us. Dinner was a buffet (really great spread). The only really "problem" was it was our last night and we were really hoping to get more of the bang bang shrimp tacos (which are to die for!!). Guess we will have to come back for them. Only real "complaint" - the rooster could be a little quieter...it is vacation spot dude lol but nothing a sound machine couldn't muffle. He really wasn't so bad, I could always roll over and go right back to sleep. Thank you Bolongo and St. Thomas for your warm hospitality! We will 200000% be back.

After calling a few resorts like Margaretville, and Bolongo Bay to name a few we liked the warm voice of Luisa the owner of Villa Santana. I felt like I trust her. She gave great customer service and lots of information about her property. I felt comfortable with moving forward with the reservations. upon arrival my husband and I took a taxi to Villa Santana which was 11 minutes away. They charged $8 per person and $1 per bag. Please beware the taxis in St. Thomas are vans and they load up before they leave the airport. Lucky for us we had a van to our self and therefore arrived to our Villa on time. We were dropped off at the gate which I was impressed that the estate was gated. I called Luisa to let her know we were at the gate and she provided us with a code. We entered the court yard which was a brick/stone driveway a little broken from the category five storm that hit last year; but at the end of the driveway the courtyard open up to a beautiful well-kept grassy area and a breath taking view of the Charlotte Amalie port. Villa Santana Hotel sits midway on top of the mountain overlooking the city called Charlotte Amalie which is the main cruse port. Luisa met us in the court yard and escorted us to our villa. We stayed in the villa called La Piedra. This particular villa is a spacious, yet charming, villa guestroom. Its rock-lined walls surround a double-sized cradle bed with plenty of space. The stone walls are the same walls of the original design of this home from year 1831. La Piedra has a kitchenette and private full bath, and opens to the pool with its spectacular harbor views. Do to the hurricane that hit every property on the island is still rebuilding including Villa Santana. Our room air conditioner was not working at the time but it was not bad at all giving the time of year we had cool breezes and fans that kept us comfortable. The hotel its self is made up of concert, stone and well-manicured. It's a very historical feel to it that is almost enchanting, defiantly captivating. The sunsets are spectacular! The ocean takes the color of the orange and pink sky and for a brief moment you can't tell were the ski kisses the ocean. The pool overlooks the ocean and has its own unique charm flashing its Spanish tiles. There is a gazebo by the pool and plenty of lounging area. There is a bar by the pool but will not be up and running until they fully recover from the storm. The whole estate is covered with Banana trees, Mango trees, Basil trees and a tone of tropical plants and flowers. My husbands and I recommend if you stay here please rent a car. Rent a car from Budget car rental at Hardwood Highway Charlotte Amalie. Do not rent a car from the airport the taxis are unreasonable. Also rent your car from www.Priceline.com and purchase there insurance! You will save a ton of money. We received a compact car for $116 for 3 days taxes included. With flights from Atlanta Ga and hotel stay at Villa Santana our tip was only $997. Please keep in mind we visited the island on there down season so pricing may change by 12/15/2018. Over all Villas Santana was an amazing experience and fantastic customer service. We truly fell in love with the place and its owner Luisa. This place truly felt like home. I can't wait to return in March. If you have any question about visiting St. Thomas USVI or Villa Santana please feel free to email me at Felicia.markey@gmail.com and type St. Thomas or Villa Santana in the subject line and I will respond promptly.

No elevator in the building, so you have to haul all your luggage up to your room... for us that was 3 flights of stairs with 100+ lbs of luggage. We did it in stages, with rest in between trips! LOL The view from our room was OK also, St. Thomas Bay in the distance, and lots of rooftops around the hotel. The room itself was old and dated. The bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was adequate, although the window had wads of toilet paper stuffed all around to keep wind/water out I assume. It was obvious that many guests had participated in the window packing ritual. On the positive side, the front desk staff, as well as the staff serving breakfast were super nice. The free breakfast was adequate, eggs, bacon, toast and coffee, easy enough. The little breakfast area was cute, and actually had it own little pool. Not sure what that was all about. The location is good: the hotel is also very close to the downtown shopping area; and, the French Town area is only a short walk. We felt safe walking around the area at night. Bunker Hill is an OK hotel especially for folks on a budget. For our dollar, we plan to upgrade to a bit nicer location on our next visit to St. Thomas.

The resort is easy to get around, beautifully landscaped, and spotless -- from the rooms and grounds to the common areas. The staff couldn't have been nicer -- everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Our room was right by the ocean and just steps from the private beach, which made it feel extra special. The infinity pool was large and never crowded, and the swim-up bar was a fun touch. There were always plenty of lounge chairs available, so we never had to rush out early to grab one. We also appreciated having access to the amenities at the sister property, The Westin, which added even more options during our stay. The bartenders at The Sandbar, Sean and Michael, really stood out -- super friendly, attentive, and just great to talk to. The food there was excellent (we especially loved the pizza and tacos), and the portions were just right. We also used the valet service, which was quick and very helpful with our luggage. Breakfast at Sugarfin was delicious, though a bit pricey -- the $25 French toast was hands-down the best I've ever had, and honestly, I'd order it again. The orange juice, bacon, and sausage were also excellent. We did run into a couple of small issues, but the staff handled them quickly and professionally. One thing to note -- the "king" beds are actually a bit narrower than a standard king (about six inches). Malika from Service Express explained that all rooms have this size to maximize space, and he was kind enough to offer a small resort credit for the inconvenience. We really appreciated how he handled it. The sunsets from the property were absolutely stunning -- some of the best we've ever seen. On our last night, we had dinner at Isla Blue, the fine dining restaurant on-site. Service was excellent, and most of the food was fantastic. I did have an issue with my filet that took a bit of follow-up to get resolved, but once upper management got involved, they handled it very professionally and made things right. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Buoy Haus. It's a beautiful, relaxing resort with a great atmosphere and amazing staff. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back, upscale getaway in St. Thomas.
