I had used Dom's once before and had a positive experience with Phil so I assumed the crew was just running late. But when I asked if they were on their way, a woman scoldingly told me I did not confirm so no one was coming. I told her I absolutely did confirm, and I had been waiting for hours, after changing my schedule. She said "no you did not confirm." I said I'm looking right at my email where I replied yes. She said in a nasty tone, "Well I'm looking at my system and it does not have a confirmation from you." I said "I don't care what your system says. I did confirm. I'm looking right at it." She repeated, very argumentative and condescending when she should've been apologizing: "I'm looking at my system and everyone else is confirmed but you're not." I said "Then your system is broken because I confirmed! Check your email. I confirmed." Now she yelled at me "Don't speak to me like I'm a child." Excuse me? SHE was the one scolding ME like a child, when she should've been APOLOGIZING for standing me up when I had a confirmed appointment! IN ADDITION: This whole business of "confirming" is ridiculous. I made the appointment, and I didn't cancel it. Even if their system somehow missed my confirmation (which is inexcusable) you don't CANCEL an appointment without contacting the customer. They have my cell number. They should've notified me that they were cancelling. Then I could've directed them to my confirmation email which they somehow missed. Also: Their email made it sound like confirmation was optional. It said: "Hello. This is a reminder that Phil will be with you on (date) between 2:30 & 3:30pm. Thanks, Dom's Landscaping. Reply yes to confirm or visit (website). Thank you." That email says Phil is coming! It does NOT say (but it SHOULD say): "If you don't confirm, we won't show up, and we won't even contact you to let you know we're standing you up." Since that is apparently their policy, they need to make that clear. But again, I CONFIRMED! I have proof. And I waited! And no one came. And when I called, I got scolded, even though it was THEIR FAULT. This is a terrible business.

I quickly learnt that tree / bush work is not to be handled by landscapers unless they are cutting a few branches no higher than 5 foot from the ground. Well Clearview sent a great arborist (someone that has actually studied trees!) by the name of Bob. He spent around 45 minutes explaining what trees I was dealing with, their present condition, the best course of action to take and a plan for the new year. This guy knows his stuff and by the time he leaves - you too will know exactly what is going in your garden. The price was actually in line with the landscapers and way cheaper than some other tree specialists who must have thought I was related to royalty. The day of actual work was scheduled for a week later and what a professional bunch of guys. They carefully climbed the yews listening to their team lead who stood next to me asking exactly what I was looking for as well as guiding me when I was clearly unclear as to what should be done. One hour later and I have a great looking yew wall that is neat and well prepared to fill in over summer and save me thousands of dollars in ripping down, grinding and replacing with new trees. The bid for the tree was in line but the bid for the rose bush was too high so we negotiated a fair price. Nemias seemed to know how to prune a rose bush. It takes time and patience. Cutting it wrong can and most likely will kill the plant. The rose bush in question at my house produces a huge amount of deep red roses each year so I am very particular of its pruning. He assured me his people knew how to do it. When the day came they did an excellent job on cutting the crepe. However they used a "Hedge Trimmer", that's right a "Hedge Trimmer" to cut the rose bush, which took all of "2 minutes". It was obvious they had no idea how to trim the plant. For the $60 they charged I could have gone into my garage and mutilated the plant with my own hedge trimmer. The site manager Oscar, assured me his man knew what he was doing. He didn't. They didn't. When it comes to trimming trees, I am sure they are excellent. DO NOT, however, let them touch anything that requires "real knowledge" of horticulture. You will be greatly disappointed.

I hired Freeport trees to remove a large tree that was threatening my roof. They did a good job,…read moreclean up well but, two things: they left a large amount of shavings, too much that had to be hauled away by the new tree planter. And they left a large portion of the trunk in the ground that impeded the planting of new trees; they aren't evenly planted and it seems I will need to get the planter back and remove the obstruction and replant the new trees. I tried to contact Freeport but never got a call back. I'm disappointed, I'll have to pay to get this trunk completely removed. It's not my business and went into this blind, trusting Freeport to do a proper job. At this point its become clear that was my mistake. My advise is to be forewarned. Better, find another tree service. The new tree planter told me they completely remove the old trunks, had I known they also remove trees I'd have given it all to them.
