The staff at BOR were very receptive and responsive to my needs and arranged to replace my converters. Unfortunately, after all their hard work my check engine light came back. It turns out that when BOR discussed my repair options I opted for the cheap route and asked them to buy aftermarket converters. When I came back they found an exhaust leak and fixed that, and the light came back a second time I relented and asked them to get OEM converters. The OEM converters fixed the problem and my pickup is running great again! I have nothing but praise for how BOR worked with me, accommodated all my choices, and bent over backwards to help me get my truck working.

More Like Better Off Somewhere Else…read more I brought my 2002 Suburban Z71 to Better Off-Road with a clear, detailed diagnostic summary--11 specific issues, complete with history, symptoms, and codes. I gave them every benefit of the doubt. What I got in return was a $10,000 engine replacement estimate and a lazy guess. After eight full days of silence, they finally looked at the truck and performed a basic compression test. They found low readings on two cylinders and immediately recommended a full engine swap. No leak-down test. No spark plug inspection. No timing verification. Just a vague shrug and a five-figure solution. Here's the kicker: * They performed the wrong test first * Then charged again to do the right one * That's double billing for diagnostic failure A leak-down test is the industry standard when compression is low--it tells you why it's low. They didn't perform one until I hounded them. That's not oversight. That's negligence. When I finally arranged a tow to get it out of there on October 22, they refused to release the vehicle until I paid. Fair enough--but their phones were "offline for two days," yet their voicemail worked. Convenient. Then they charged me a 3% fee for using a Visa card. That's not standard. That's gouging. The technician who texted me couldn't write a coherent sentence. His diagnosis read like a fifth-grade book report. I wouldn't trust this shop to change a bicycle tire, let alone diagnose a complex engine issue. Bottom line: * They ignored a detailed diagnostic roadmap * They charged for incomplete diagnostics * They double-billed for doing it right * They stalled communication for eight days * They misrepresented fees * They showed zero professionalism I paid the bill because I honor my commitments. The door wasn't closing against the frame right, not sealing, bent..or something. It was driving me batty! I've had my truck since it was brand new and was devastated with this issue, thinking it was ruined forever (seriously!) and/or would cost an arm and a leg to fix...or replace the door, mechanisms, etc. I stopped by Camano Body Shop while running some errands and spoke with Glenn. He took great time and care to listen to my issue and examined the door, hinge, etc., telling me what he was seeing the whole time (in layman's terms I understood!). He snapped some detailed photographs, took my information down, and had the repair quote(s) to me within hours! I made the appointment soonafter. I dropped my truck off with Glenn at the shop at 9 and he called me sometime just after 11, saying it was done!!! They fixed the problem and were able to stay on the low end of the quote (thank goodness!). He explained what all they did to fix it, and they had even washed my vehicle for me, which I didn't expect at all! I'm very happy and relieved to report there is NO more wind noise! She was going 50mph and did $25,000 in damages to my truck and it took over 4 months to repair. Parts is what took so long since the trucks has the new body style. Repairs were done so well you wouldn't ever known it was rear ended. Three months after I got it back a lady ran a red light smashing the whole front end. That repair was a little under $13,000 to repair. Thankfully it only took three weeks to repair. Repairs were done so well you can't ever tell the front was completely smashed. I was already feeling good vibes. He happened to have openings that day. Dropped my car off in the afternoon. Got it back in the same afternoon. I was okay picking it up the next day, so I was surprised by the quick turn around. After installing high-end aftermarket parts, plus labor, the price was very reasonable compared to other options in the area. When I picked up my car, Dan took me on a tour of his clean shop filled with badass custom cars they are currently working on. Had a great conversation with him about mech stuff. When I'm looking for a restaurant or any service, I'm the type of person who looks for places with thousands of reviews online with at least 4 stars. This shop has only 11 reviews with 4.5 stars. But man, this shop is so stealth! Even my mom, who's not a car person, was like, "you've been here this whole time?!" Dan happens to be a 20+ year master technician from Toyota. So, I'm never going to another dealership or anyone else for service when I'm in Washington. I asked him about several things that needed addressed and he had answers for all of them, taught me a few teniques for detailing certain areas. He was able to squeeze in my A/C inspection and had high tech equipment that he also explained and showed me how it worked. I learned more about my truck that day than any mechanic has explained to me in my 45 yrs of driving. His garage was so clean and organized for one person I was sure he had a maid. Took my truck in because my truck had a bent tire. He told me it just needed axle seals replaced…read more Quoted $1700 replaced the seals. Up charged me because he said it was "hard" to get off. The next day after he supposedly fixed the tire, the wheel was wobbling so bad it almost fell off. Had to take it in to another shop. They looked at it for 5min and already told me it was a bent axle and it should have never had the seal replaced. Not only did they install a new axle, bearing, and seals, but they did it for half the price and actually gave me a discount cheaper than the quoted price! I called rosten and he denied any responsibility and refused to do even a partial refund. I highly recommend Stryker auto in marysville instead. They do quality work for a great value and test drive everything they fix.

The last 4 times I went there I waited in the lobby for so many hours. If I had known it would be that long I would have went home. The last time was 5 and a half hours in the lobby! I tried to go home at hour 3 and was asked to stay (telling me it would be soon.) The prices have really gone up. He wouldn't charge me to look at it so I thought I was getting a good deal but with the high pricing it made up for it. Several hundred dollars cheaper at other places when I called around. I got an oil change here and I made an appointment for it. I waited 3 and a half hours in the lobby and it cost a little over 100$. I mentioned I was feeling the transmission slipping and was told they would take a look at it. At checkout they said nothing, I asked them about it and another 20 minutes later they came back and said it was fine maybe I could get a tune up soon. I brought it in again a few weeks later still with the transmission slipping. They said they found a sensor out and a few other things. I paid a little over 1000$ two separate times within 3 months. Each time I asked is it worth it, to fix it? What about the transmission? I got round about answers and was told fixing it was a good option. Now after putting almost 4000$ into it within a year my transmission needs to be replaced and I can't afford to fix it or get another vehicle! I don't have words for how I feel about that. I really trusted Adrian and so I trusted his crew and I feel like they really let me down and put me in a bad spot. I'm a single mom and I needed the honesty and care I had gotten from Adrian at the beginning but I guess things change.
