Yarmouth Place - Maintenance is amazing and really hard working. I do like that you can put in your…read morerequest online and they respond timely usually within 1-2 for non urgent items. I recently had an issue with the faucet in the sink, and was also going to be traveling so I dropped that in the notes so they knee and could fit my request amongst their others that were more time sensitive. I also let them know they didn't have to worry about my cat, since I was boarding her. Every other time, they are very aware and make sure she doesn't get it. She actually really likes them so she is more interested in pets from them. I also moved the cleaning supplies to make it raise for them to get through to work their magic and fix the spray hose. I came back after a few days and while I would have preferred them to turn off the kitchen light after they were done, it was wonderful to walk into a new sink faucet and spray hose! They left everything clean. The maintenance guys are honestly the best part of this place. Yarmouth Place, Yarmouth Pointe and Yarmouth Green management company is another story. I may provide another update related to that later.

"emergency water shut offs" consistent almost monthly. appliances are the same as they were when this place was built. constantly had flooding dishwashers, broken toilets, and the water in the shower changed temperature rapidly on its own. counters falling off walls in the kitchen - and the fix was filling it with caulk (this is where the roaches came from!). each unit has 1 reserved parking spot, which often times are occupied by vehicles that don't belong there. visitor parking is available, but are taken by cars that never move. finding parking is near impossible. maintenance takes forever to work on a request, gives you no heads up as to when they're coming, and the amount of unfinished requested i've still got open is beyond me. instead of replacing things, they choose to put bandaids on them for the next person to deal with. upon move out, we were charged for requests that were never completed. kids run ramped there, no supervision and always playing in the parking lot. not their fault, but parents should probably be able to stop their kids from playing ding dong ditch or banging on the walls outside. no overhead lights in the bedrooms or living room. random stains on the walls. carpets (covering entire unit except kitchen and bathroom) required to be cleaned before move out but ours clearly weren't (and were told that they would be). office is horribly rude, have been hung up on multiple times and it takes a while to hear back. various times i've seen articles about sketchy people driving through the lot offering things to people to get them into cars. overall, wish i would have read reviews and listened to past tenants before signing for this place. i guess it works if you need it to, or if you like living in a hot, dirty, home from the 50's. good luck to anyone who signs!

we LOOOOVE APEX! my…read morehusband and I have a home in Maine (we live in LA) and after MANY years of resisting the idea of renting our home out to 'strangers' we finally began to consider the possibility of renting in 2013. our hesitation was partly due to our proximity, but mostly due to the fact that we LOVE our home (and Maine), and still visit. our concerns were MANY, but to name a few: 1. how would we find a good tenant, since we are across the country? 2. how would we decide what to charge? 3. how would we take care of any problems for our tenants, should they arise, since we are 3000 miles away? our questions were plentiful, and we were to (soon) find out that the ANSWERS were to be found through ONE source! while we were in Maine in May of 2013, by GOOD FORTUNE, my husband happened to see the APEX rental sign on HWY 88, so I called, to inquire about a meeting. Chris (president/owner) came the NEXT DAY, and was SO nice, informative AND knowledgeable! she explained that APEX would handle all of our concerns (and MANY we had not even thought about)! she advised us about what we would need to do, to get the property up to speed as a rental (clear out garage, get 2 cable boxes, etc.) a day or two later, we met the "wonder woman" Melissa, (aka property manager) and she took pictures of our home so that they could market it on their site. (she took awesome pics!) the net result was that within 4 days of my initial call, we were on their APEX website! we flew back to L.A. a few days later, not knowing what to expect... Melissa worked TIRELESSLY to coordinate addressing a multitude of issues (fixing our garage door openers, new combo locks, a new washer dryer and installation, cable TV set ups, to name a FEW) and within a couple of weeks, they secured us a lovely family for our home! the family only needed it for one month, so just weeks later, APEX had found us ANOTHER family for a few more months!!! we have FULL faith that Chris and Melissa have found us 2 wonderful families! PLUS, by finding us shorter term tenants, my husband and I will still be able to visit our home! they do EVERYTHING possible to accommodate the owner's wishes, as well as the client's needs. APEX does all the credit checks, meets with the tenants at check in, 'introduces' them to the house, and (most important for US) they do the final walkthrough before check out, to make sure the house is in good condition....AND the VERY thing best of all, is that APEX takes care of the tenant during their stay to insure a POSITIVE experience for them! example: we recently had some minor construction work done on the exterior, (by our front and side stairs) and as a result of the disruption to the ground, we had a slight insect problem INSIDE the house (ants, tiny spiders) and the tenant called Melissa. she called a company, to come out and use NON TOXIC spray inside, plus spray the exterior perimeter! when she emailed me to confirm that i was okay with it, i expressed my concern about toxins in the house...she let me know that she had already requested the non toxic product! because APEX has relationships with so many companies who can handle SO many issues.....Melissa just HANDLED the entire situation! that is only ONE, of many many situations, BIG and SMALL that Melissa has taken care of at our home! she's just AMAZING!!! the fact that BOTH Melissa and Chris are a JOY to work with is an extra added bonus. :) so the ANSWERS to my questions stated above are: APEX - APEX - APEX!!!!! we are SO grateful to Chris and Melissa for EVERYTHING they have done and continue to do, and look forward to a LOOOOONG relationship with APEX. they have TRULY been a gift! we HIGHLY recommend APEX for all of your rental needs, whether a homeowner, or a potential tenant/client. they genuinely CARE, have the knowledge and the expertise, are a SUCH a pleasure to work with! THANK YOU, Chris and Melissa!

Rented a house in Falmouth for August '23 through Labor Day from this agency. It was billed by the…read moreagent, Adam Shapiro, as "the Greenwich of Portland". As it turns out, the house sits right next to a busy parking lot for a beach with dirty water that smells like sewerage at low tide. Cars sit idling in the lot until 3 or 4 in the morning every night; it feels unsafe having them there. The front door lock is very difficult to close and the lock is not solid, offering very little security. The lower floor of the house reeks so badly of dampness and mildew that everyone had to move upstairs; the mildew smell in the bedrooms downstairs is overpowering. When I told Apex about this, they refused to come to the house to get an idea of how badly the moisture has affected that level of the house. The upper level of the house also has a terrible problem with moisture and a mildew smell. Upstairs shower stall smells moldy and damp, towels turn mildewy after 1 use because of the humidity problem in the house. The dishwasher failed to turn on and run the cycle. Apex sent the cleaning person over and she was unable to do anything. They were no help at all, it was just "no, no, no" from them. The oven light stays on no matter what, you have to push it closed forcefully, but then the light just goes back on after a few seconds. The electric window blinds stopped working 1 week into our stay; they had to send a tech over to recharge the motors, which took an hour of my time and attention. I checked out of the house August 23, almost 2 weeks early because I didn't; feel safe there and because the house smelled so bad. The agent, Adam Shapiro, did not reply to any of my texts or calls informing him of this; he just took the money and ran

I'm unsure who reads these, but if you're one to do so... consider this an important read…read more My family moved from an apartment complex into one of the houses owned by HPM. Though the onboarding experience was rough and didn't feel the most welcoming, we persisted and found a beautiful home to rent. When we moved from onboarding to the move-in team, things improved quickly, and they were quick to accommodate an accelerated move-in date since the house was available. The rental experience after was seamless with an easy portal for payment, quick response for questions... but this is IMPORTANT part to read. On a Saturday afternoon we were running the washing machine when the septic system became overloaded and backed up. We were quick to shut off the water and ensure that the property would be safe, but Andrew at HPM took the brunt of very scared tenants, and treated us with humanity and dignity. Andrew was quick to respond and came the next day to take a look at the system. After a day of in-depth searching to find where the septic tank was and another day of waiting for the Septic company to arrive... Monday arrived and the tank was emptied. You could say that Andrew was prioritizing the property management aspect, but that's the furthest from the truth. He was patient and understanding while we called and were crude/frustrated. He took the time to gather information about what was going on, calming down us in the process, and explaining his process/method to the madness. He treated us better than we deserved in the moment, and was able to work quickly on resolving a very critical issue. Besides the onboarding experience, we have had nothing but a 110% effort put into our experience and wellbeing as tenants. We personally are grateful to Honest Property Management, and hope to stay at minimum within their property system... well hopefully indefinitely! But truly, I'd recommend anyone who's concerned about renting from HPM take those concerns, and talk to a member of the HPM team like Andrew. You won't regret it!
