Top to bottom miserable experience. Late by nearly two hours both days. Far more smoke breaks than working hours. What took 3 hours could have easily been one without all the stopping to smoke. Workers swearing and yelling at each other, my concierge actually came to my condo and asked that the movers stop yelling and swearing in the hallway as it was upsetting my neighbors and inappropriate.. what a first impression to make in my new building. One worker didn't have use of an arm and had issues with his leg then didn't show up for day two. Paid 3k for "3 professional" movers and would love a time machine to go back and get a Uhaul myself and just pay some friends to help. It would have been far less stressful and expensive. Do not use this service. Save yourself a lot of money and aggravation. read more

In the Fall of 2015 I used this company to move from Portland, Maine area to Charlotte, NC. Unlike the other reviewers, my experience was a nightmare. George did this move by himself. He promised that he would have help in any unfinished packing. He did not provide help with the unfinished packing. As a result, several items were left behind because I was just overwhelmed. We agreed to meet at my new place in NC on Friday. He arrived Saturday and I had to call him to find that out. He said he "forgot." When he and the truck arrived, I discovered that he had hired two friends who were not experienced movers (it was painfully obvious they did not have any skill at moving) to help him when he got to the Charlotte area. They broke one of my antiques and nicked a couple of bureaus. The truck packing was not careful. One of his local NC guys took the broken piece home to fix it saying he was good at carpentry. After calling him several times over a period of two months, I finally agreed to drive over an hour to his home to get it. Based on my experience, I would say that Wilson Moving and George Wilson is not equipped to do a long-distance move. read more

We used Wilson moving to move from Brooklyn, NY to Portland, ME and then a few months later from Portland, ME to Topsham, ME. I have moved many MANY times, and hands down - this was one of the best moving experiences I've ever had, particularly regarding a long distance move. I got in touch with George in October 2014 or so, and asked for a rough estimate just to get some ballpark idea of cost, to help us with our move budget. I also got in touch with a couple of other big-name moving companies. George was the only response I got - both by phone and email. George stayed in touch over the months and responded promptly to all of my questions. His pricing was very reasonable and the frequent & responsive communication instilled a lot of trust in me that this was a reliable company. When it came to actual moving day, I knew that traffic may cause delays in getting down to Brooklyn, but they were actually a little early! Amazing! We had a smooth move and the two guys got the truck loaded quickly and with care. The next day, they delivered our stuff in Portland, and even helped put our furniture back together. George has been extremely flexible & responsive. He is an all-around friendly and helpful person who communicates clearly, and is very reasonable.
