He spent nearly 15 minutes on the phone with me going over the details of our move, even knowing we wouldn't be able to book with him. I mentioned a quote I had received from another moving company and that I was worried it might be way off. He reassured me that the price sounded reasonable and then took the time to explain what I should look for when choosing a moving company, what I could expect to pay, and some things to watch out for. There was absolutely nothing in it for him, yet he was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to want to make sure we had a good moving experience, even if it wasn't with his company. That kind of customer service and honesty is rare and really stood out to me. He left me feeling confident and assured. Then I got a reminder call 24 hours ahead of time. On moving day, the crew of 2 showed up right on time and got to work. When they got the desk into my house I realized I had underestimated its size, so furniture had to be moved in order to place the desk in a better spot. I knew I would be paying for an extra 30 minutes but they did it without complaining. Estate stuff is heart-wrenching but Blanchette's made this part easier. I'd give ten stars if I could.

I contacted them less than a week before my move after my previously scheduled movers canceled on me. I rented the truck and they provided all the packing materials. They did SUCH a good job packing things in the truck. My fiance packed his U-Haul on his own and it became very obvious when unpacking that mine was done with much more care. My estimate for how much stuff I had was sorely mistaken on my part, and it ended up taking much longer because I didn't pack everything into boxes, to begin with (I've moved I don't know how many times but still do this!) but they were totally fine with it, even though they had another appointment after. Midwest Moving was very communicative from the moment we reached out to them. Their quote was…read morereasonable; however, I was fairly certain that they had underestimated the time, which they had. I believe they charge you from the time they leave their facility until the time they return, so keep that in mind when estimating your own cost and keep careful track of when they come and go so that you don't get charged more as that almost happened to us. Their employees were friendly and polite and arrived within the timeframe they had promised. We had three guys show (instead of the two that were expected). They moved the furniture fairly quickly as we had a tight window to complete the move on both ends. Unfortunately, there were a couple of items (an electric fireplace and a shelf that we are aware of thus far) that we discovered had minor damage, so be sure to wrap everything carefully that you really care about. They also forgot to bring some of the bolts for the bed frame (which we discovered later) and their drill from the first location, so my husband had to drive back to original house to let them in. Despite these few issues, we were happy to have movers who actually showed up when promised and did what they said they were going to do. We would absolutely consider using them again.
