Midwest Moving was very communicative from the moment we reached out to them. Their quote was…read morereasonable; however, I was fairly certain that they had underestimated the time, which they had. I believe they charge you from the time they leave their facility until the time they return, so keep that in mind when estimating your own cost and keep careful track of when they come and go so that you don't get charged more as that almost happened to us. Their employees were friendly and polite and arrived within the timeframe they had promised. We had three guys show (instead of the two that were expected). They moved the furniture fairly quickly as we had a tight window to complete the move on both ends. Unfortunately, there were a couple of items (an electric fireplace and a shelf that we are aware of thus far) that we discovered had minor damage, so be sure to wrap everything carefully that you really care about. They also forgot to bring some of the bolts for the bed frame (which we discovered later) and their drill from the first location, so my husband had to drive back to original house to let them in. Despite these few issues, we were happy to have movers who actually showed up when promised and did what they said they were going to do. We would absolutely consider using them again.

We were able to schedule this multi- state move with less than a week's notice. There were supposed…read moreto be 3 movers, but only 2 arrived for the job. The 2 guys were so pleasant and really hustled though. After the move was complete, we found a small gouge in an acoustic tile in the stairwell, but no other damage. We have hired movers numerous times, and this by far was the smoothest operation.

We assumed a professional moving company would arrive with basic equipment (straps, harnesses, or moving aids) and the know-how to move large furniture. They did not. The three movers were kind and polite, and this review is not meant as a criticism of them personally. However, they were clearly unprepared for the job. No measurements were taken, no equipment was used, and they appeared unfamiliar with basic techniques like angling furniture through doorways. This was frustrating, especially since the couch had previously been delivered through the same doors without issue. When the crew struggled and stopped, they called their manager, Brandon. Based on what we were seeing, my husband honestly said it wasn't going to work with this crew. Despite the fact that nothing was moved, we were charged $190. After the movers left, my husband contacted Brandon to discuss the situation. Brandon was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. When my husband pointed out that no measurements had been taken, Brandon responded, "Well how are they going to know if it will fit until they try?" despite the fact that using a tape measure is a basic, professional step that was never attempted. Brandon refused any refund or partial credit. We are out nearly $200 because Two Men and a Truck sent an unprepared crew and then backed that up with poor customer service. If you are moving anything more complicated than boxes, think carefully before hiring this company. We strongly encourage the owners to consider additional customer service training for Brandon. His behavior showed no professionalism, accountability, or interest in finding a fair solution. If he is an owner, that is even more concerning.

Being elderly With several ongoing health conditions, this move was already causing me a great deal of stress. A rep from the company came and evaluated the scope of the job I was asking. He brought me out some flat screen protective boxes for my TV's. i had explained that I needed them to take a portion of things from the basement to a local storage unit. Another section of the basement was to be left alone as it was being given for donation . My garage was quiet full and then I had the inside off the housel. This gentlemen told me he was going to have to readjust my quote down because it was not as bad as he had expected. After 6 men and two moving trucks came on moving day and I tried to give them some direction, I was met with resistance and was told they would not take items to two locations. I had t`o` choose where to go. (I was never told this at any time in evaluating this co for the job). So I said okay9 I would work on getting storage items moved another day and they could just start loading up the garage A am a serious crafter and have a lot o money invested in craft supplies. I wanted this part of the garage packed together to go into a second bedroom for a craft room. The rest would go to the apartment First I was told I would have to leave my mounted TV because they were not allowed to remove this. (then why did the man who came to my home bring me two protected boxes that I was charged for). So while they started on the craft section of the garage (which I had asked them to keep this section divided as much as possible. While they started I went to the back bedroom and f was trying to finish up my master bedroom. After a period of time two of these men came to me and said they could not put another thing on the "truck" as it was full. my garage was still 2/3bfull and the inside of the house Had not been done. The second truck lay emoth. They told me that my apartment would not hold another item. That's when I discovered that while I was out back they took it amongst themselves to load both sides of the basement (the section that was going to storage and the good sized area that was being donated) on the truck at the same time as they had loaded the craft items in the garage. They refused to load anything further into the second truck. But I was going at the end of this day to live in my new apartment. So with much resistance and telling them that they would load my bed or someone was going to be "hurt" an dirt wasn't going to be me, they did load my bed, after they carelessly discarded items in my bedroom.. I was lived and asked why they had loaded the items from the basement when they had told me no. One guy said that they were trying to help me out. He had not helped me he had just created a hell of a mess for me. And one guy said "you can't expect us to go through all that stuff and separate it out". By the time I got to my apartment, I was a total wreck. I had to call on two neighbor friends to help me get items to live on, few changes of clothing, few dishes, bathroom items, which were mostly packed up. But they could not load any more on the trucks as they had decided what would fit into my apartment amidst themselves. I did write them a check for the amt they were requesting because I had 6 guys breathing down my neck and I was feeling intimidated But I was quiet upset with the entire experience. This was the move from hell. I have stopped payment on the check after stewing all weekend over the events of my move. I did call first thing Monday to file a formal complaint. I was told by their rep that he would speak to the crew and get back to me. It has been close to four weeks and I have heard nothing from them. Meanwhile I had to hire another crew to help me get out of the house urgently now, costing almost as much as what two men and a truck had charged me for the mess they had left me in. So now I have a lot of storage items And donation items in my apartment which I now have to get out to storage and go over to not the one, but two storage units Then there are a lot of things I needed for my apartment that now I have to get from storage to my apartment. I'm embarrassed and ashamed for your company that these men were allowed to come into my home and screw up this job so badly. You would think that out of the six guys, one would have had a brain.

About halfway through our move, we heard some intense yelling followed by a slew of curses and threats. I was en route from loading my truck and witnessed the older staff member of Tiny Tim assault his younger co-worker by shoving him violently against the stairs and grabbing his throat, wringing his neck while screaming, "You wanna call me an idiot again? Say it one more time, a**hole. CALL ME AN IDIOT AGAIN." It was awful, I'm sure they were having a difficult time, it's hard work, but the younger employee was both embarrassed and deeply affected throughout the rest of that awful load-out. He apologized to us for having to witness that, and I told him that he shouldn't be working with a violent abuser. I really don't feel right about what went down there, that poor dude looked like he could've started crying if he hadn't stuffed his personal feelings down so quickly, no one should be treated that way while doing one of the most physically demanding jobs you can be paid for around here. When asked ahead of time if they would wrap antique furniture items with padding and elastic bands, Local Muscle said yes, but showed up and said they do not do that. When 4 men showed up LATE, one woman client specified to the leader to kindly move largest and heaviest items first, as anything smaller remaining at the end, the two women would move themselves in their car. The women had placed all items near the apartment door, to be easy to carry out the door of the apartment. Several hours later, after one man only stood by the elevator the whole time, the leader man told the client woman they were about to finish in about 10 minutes, take lunch, then go to the new home and unload. The woman had been going back and forth to the moving truck and knew it was only half full, and most of the largest and heaviest items were still sitting in the apartment. The woman asked the man in charge to help her understand, after she clearly specified in the beginning that the team of hired men were to move the largest and heaviest items first, why had they NOT done so? The man in charge said, We move smaller things first and largest things last, so once we arrive at the new home, the largest items are unloaded first. The woman said this was not what she requested, not how most movers move in her own experience, and now they would be left with the largest and heaviest items they could not fit in their car or lift and put into a rented truck on their own. The man in charge said, Well you can hire us *for another day* like tomorrow to finish the job. (RED FLAG: Fraud, swindle, hoax, scheme!) The woman replied, First, Local Muscle had no openings for yesterday or tomorrow, which is why we scheduled you for today; and second, we must be out of the apartment by tomorrow, so TODAY IS ALL WE HAVE with you guys, which is why we tried to be very clear that you are needed to help move our HEAVIEST AND LARGEST ITEMS. Also, why would we pay you *more money to hire you for a second day* to move what we asked you to move the first day? The man in charge asked the woman to walk around and show him the largest items (as she had done previously). She did, and he had his team load some of the items. The two women traveled to the new place, met the Local Muscle team of men, and they had added two more *so their unload* would go quicker. (Why have two more on the tail end and not the front end to help load all of the items and fill the truck?) The men finished unloading, and the man in charge said the charge would be FAR MORE than the original estimate, plus they asked for a tip and stood there looking at the woman who had to approve the charge. What a waste of money and time. An additional van needed to be rented, loaded, and unloaded by the women for the items Local Muscle left behind. Was this because the move was from Commercial Street, a presumption that these two women were rich and could easily be swindled? STAY AWAY FROM LOCAL MUSCLE. BEWARE.
