I didn't end up using this company because unfortunately they weren't available for our moving dates, but I still wanted to leave a review because of how incredibly helpful the gentleman I spoke with was. He spent nearly 15 minutes on the phone with me going over the details of our move, even knowing we wouldn't be able to book with him. I mentioned a quote I had received from another moving company and that I was worried it might be way off. He reassured me that the price sounded reasonable and then took the time to explain what I should look for when choosing a moving company, what I could expect to pay, and some things to watch out for. There was absolutely nothing in it for him, yet he was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to want to make sure we had a good moving experience, even if it wasn't with his company. That kind of customer service and honesty is rare and really stood out to me. Although I can't review the actual moving service since we weren't able to use them, based on my experience over the phone, I would absolutely recommend giving them a call. I only wish our dates had worked out! read more

The crew (D'Andre, D'Shawn, Matt, Luke) were really great. After a long hot day they still arrived later in the day with great attitudes. They quickly figured out the best way to move a very large/heavy couch down to our main floor without any issues! We were very happy with the service provided and would highly recommend them for any job, big or small. read more

Great crew who were quick, helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend and would use again.

Chris and his crew are top notch! They moved the heavy big items for my mom, to her new senior living location, efficiently and extremely timely. From start to finish they had her items loaded (wrapped for protection) and unwrapped at her new location in 2 hours. He was able to schedule the delivery to be within the senior living requirements for move in/out times. I appreciated Chris' communication. He was very responsive with a quote, responded timely to follow up questions, and called me with an updated time of arrival on the day of the move. He and his team were polite, listened, and moved everything without any damage. The electronic invoicing and payment options were a nice touch and made things seamless. His pricing is fair and reasonable. SC Moving is a local business and I highly recommend them for your moving needs! read more

SC Moving is reliable and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend Chris and SC Moving for any move, big or small, local or across New England. Chris and his team do what they say they're going to do and go above and beyond with every step of the moving process. read more

our friend had a nearly new treadmill that he no longer was using. We had just junked our old one that was no longer safe to use. SC moving was familiar with the unit to be moved and knew how to disassemble it just enough to move it into our basement. Very competent and efficient! read more

CHRIS and his team; DEVON, MATT and RYAN helped me move my senior parents over this past weekend and they are fantastic! They delivered bins to our home a week prior to the move which gave us time to pack in an organized, non-rushed fashion. I was able to label the bins as to which room each bin was going to go in and we were given plenty of time after the move to empty the bins and they came and picked them up when we were finished emptying them. They made two extra stops for me dropping items that we no longer needed. Devon Matt and Ryan went over and above to help me to complete this moving process seamlessly. I am very impressed with the level of professionalism and competence. Highly recommend this company!! read more

Chris and his team were remarkably professional, efficient and super easy to deal with. Easy to schedule, arrived on time, treated our two leather sofas gently and wrapped them securely for the local move. Outstanding experience, and he seemed like a genuinely good guy who enjoyed his business. We're very pleased. read more

Great job, very affordable. We used them from a move from a two story condo in Scarborough to a two story (plus basement) house in Windham. When I called for an estimate Chris came over the same day to assess my house and give me a quote. His recommendation for crew number and truck size were spot on, ensuring the move would be quick and efficient. They were the most affordable out of the 3 companies I priced in the area. The crew was very professional and efficient. We have quite a bit of large, heavy furniture. They wrapped all our furniture in plastic and blankets and nothing was damaged during the move. Thank you so much for helping us and making our move go as smoothly as possible. read more

Im 62 yrs of age and I think Chris felt sorry for me because I was all on my own. Anyway him and his team gave me the most reasonable rate of any of the movers by far and I shopped around. They also were courteous, fast and very efficient. If you are a senior citizen you can feel assured he will not take advantage of you! read more

I have used these guys 4 times and have no complaints! I have moved all over from Westbrook to Scarborough to Saco.

Chris and the team were super friendly and accommodating. Chris made it easy to schedule and kept me regularly posted on their arrival time despite it being the busiest moving day of the month. They arrived on time and wrapped and moved my belongings with great care out of the old place quickly and safely and into the new place just the same. Highly recommended! Thanks! read more

We recently moved from a 1 bedroom condo to a 2 bedroom condo in Portland. The moving experience with Chris and SC was very positive. I liked the fact that Chris, the owner, was always the one to answer the phone when I called no matter what time of day or night. It's clear he takes great pride and accountability in his business. We got started with a free in home estimate. Chris walked around, took stock of all that would need to be moved, and gave us some tips on how to make the move easier and quicker come moving day. He also let us know we could rent bins from him instead of having to buy boxes and tape (the bins ended up working great!). Before he left, we had an estimate on the time and cost of the move which were both quite reasonable. On moving day, 3 of his guys showed up right on time (if not 5 minutes early). All of them were polite and friendly. They quickly toured the condo to determine their best plan of attack and got started shortly thereafter. They wrapped all items they felt should be wrapped, took apart our 'pain in the butt' bedframe and put all of the hardware in a bag for safe keeping, and got us cleared out quickly. They even put the bed back together again once they got it into our new place. At the end of the day, they finished 30-40 minutes quicker than anticipated. None of our furniture was damaged in the process. Just a solid experience all the way around. Chris even let us keep the bins for a few days longer than we technically should have (with no extra charge) because our place was being painted and we couldn't unpack! We really appreciated that. I'd definitely recommend SC Movers. read more

I moved a large household one town away. These guys showed up on time, worked hard, and got it done on time. Moving is always tough, but they helped make the biggest part a breeze. Thanks guys! read more

Chris and the team with SC Moving were great to work with, especially since we were moving into a house that wasn't completely finished yet and some stuff went into the house and the rest into the garage. They wrapped blankets on bulky items so they wouldn't damage walls or paint when bringing the stuff down to the truck. read more

Professional, friendly and easy to work with. They showed up on time and finished early. The team worked hard and treated my items with care. They placed furniture back very nicely. I didn't need to adjust anything. Highly recommend. read more

We used SC for a local move out of storage, on the second half of a move that was relatively sizeable. Our experience with them was great, from arrangement, to fine tuning details, and through the job itself. They were responsive, prompt, reasonably priced, attentive -- with our belongings and with our new home -- and friendly. Everything we wanted, and none of what we worried about. While we are in no hurry to move again, we would absolutely use them again! read more

We used Sc Moving for our 13th move in 50+ years and they are the best, for a number of reasons: 1) They do what they say they will do; 2) They are on time and do not waste your time and $; 3) They are extremely careful with your possessions; 4) They are concerned about protecting their reputation and it shows; 5) They are a local company competing against large and small companies, so they they know the value of good service in this market; 6) They go the extra mile to take care of their clients ... even after the fact. SC Moving is your smart choice, if you value your goods, your time, your sanity, and your peace of mind. read more

I could not have asked for better service from a moving company! From the beginning, Chris was responsive to my e-mails to get a quote for this move despite the relatively short notice for an interstate move (ME to NH). I was able to securely pay my deposit online to secure the date. One improvement I could suggest is that I needed to call the day before my move to find out what time the movers were coming but I was pleased that I was able to get someone on the phone who could answer my questions promptly. On the morning of the move, the two movers arrived right on time with all the supplies they needed (and spares!) and had masks on which made me feel comfortable having them in my home. I quickly showed them what needed to be moved and they got to work moving my belongings down three flights of stairs well within the 2-hour window I was quoted. They wrapped up my furniture with blankets & cling wrap to ensure my belongings would be shipped safely. They were polite and professional and asked questions as needed. When we arrived at my new home in NH, they unloaded my belongings in just about 30 minutes. I was so nervous hiring movers because I've always just done it myself but this experience showed me that this is 100% the way to move! I could not have asked for a better experience and felt the price was reasonable especially given the service I received. If you are considering hiring movers definitely call SC Moving!! read more

Very professional, performed their work as promised and as expected by us. Took great care with our belongings.

We recently moved across country using a pod. I requested a quote from Chris at SC moving some time in advance to unload the unit for us...BUT our pod got delayed therefore changing the unloading date. Chris didn't hesitate to work with me even though he was already booked for the weekend we ended up needing help. Chris showed up with two helpers after their normal working hours and made sure to get it done even considering other difficulties like locked gates on the premises! They unloaded our things carefully and super quickly! I'd recommend Chris and his team on their flexibility and commitment alone - however their prices are also reasonable and they are down right good folks. read more

SC Moving LLC was clean, on time, fast, efficient, and did everything you'd want your moving company to do. These guys are great! Very considerate, fast, efficient and fair price. Myself and my girlfriend needed things moved from two locations to a new house and these young men were phenomenal. They were very careful to wrap anything fragile or with corners to avoid damage to the item or the walls of the house. A group of friendly and hard working people who I would recommend to anybody! read more

I hired SC Moving for an in-town move from storage to an apartment . Chris, the owner, was amazing from the get-go. He followed up on any questions or concerns and was very accommodating when I had to change the move date. His guys showed up on time and took care with all of my items. When we discovered that previous movers had broken a piece of my furniture, Chris went out of his way to personally fix it for me, even though it wasn't SC Moving's fault. SC Moving is a first-class act from start to finish. I highly recommend them. read more

Can't really rate as I used the request a quote system twice looking to hear from this company and never did. The web site states 100% call back. Not true. I wasted some valuable time and recommend the company review their software in case the problem is a glitch in the system, but it doesn't reflect well to state use this and it is 100% that you will hear from us..... then not to respond. read more

SC Moving helped us with move from Falmouth to Rhode Island last week. These guys are amazing. They helped us so much! We needed loaders to help us load up our three bedroom house into a UHaul, and Chris and his team were that and much more. Chris is a real professional. He and his team wrapped up our furniture, loaded it up into the truck so it fit perfectly (he's probably great at Tetris!) and everything was strapped down and secure. He was super helpful before the load too, advising us to get a UHaul truck because they are easier to load, and on how big a truck to get and how many blankets. Plus, their rates were really reasonable! Way cheaper than a full service move for us, but it still felt like a full service move because Chris knew what he was doing. They have their own truck so they can be full service movers, too, and they really know how to protect furniture and load up a truck so it all fits. I highly recommend SC Moving to anyone in the greater Portland area looking for any kind of moving help. And as an amazing bonus, Chris offered to find cleaning help for us if we needed it and haul stuff to the dump if we needed it. When we arrived in Rhode Island our unloading help were totally blown away at the fantastic job SC Moving did loading up our truck. They made what is usually a stressful experience much, much easier. I highly, highly recommend them! read more

I had an excellent experience with SC Moving. I was moving from Portland to Virginia and hired them to move my items from my home into a truck. They were fast, efficient, and very professional.
