WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!…read more I have moved so many times in my life and have never experienced a worse move ever. Everything seemed shady from the beginning. I only wish I would have followed my gut feeling when I saw all the red flags waving. The owner, Larry Scott is the most unprofessional businessman I've ever worked with. He humiliated me when he got into a screaming/cussing match with one of my elderly neighbors in my nice neighborhood, calling the gentleman every obscenity in the book, threatening to physically harm him, etc.. Then, once everything was finally loaded, in Maine, heading to Texas, Larry disappeared and was completely missing in action. He wouldn't return any of my calls or texts, contrary to what he told me. The moving truck arrived a day late, requiring me to pay an additional night of a hotel & rental car. When it arrived the next day, I learned that almost all of my belongings, including my car were damaged in the move and the professional movers that he scheduled to unload the truck were NO-SHOWS when the truck arrived. After many frantic phone calls and after waiting 3 1/2 hours, they finally arranged for day laborers to unload. By this time, it was almost 4pm. All my furniture was dented, scratched, scraped, corners broken, legs broken, my car scratched, etc. The laborers refused to put furniture & boxes in the proper rooms even though everything was clearly marked. They claimed that they were not paid to arrange, just to unload. Then a large portion of my furniture was in pieces in no organized fashion. There were pieces of wood, screws, etc. laying everywhere and no one knew how to reassemble the furniture. The laborers stated that they weren't paid to assemble furniture - just to unload. The truck driver finally tried to assemble what he could but he did a terrible job. I still have furniture that wasn't assembled and I have a bag of parts and many pieces of wood that I didn't not have before. What was assembled was assembled incorrectly. I called the office the next day to see about filing a claim. I was told by the Administrative person that she had to speak with Larry first and would call me back. After a few days, I called again, and she said she would let me know when she knew anything. I never heard from them and eventually gave up which is what I'm sure they were hoping for. DON'T EVER TRUST THIS COMPANY! They will rip you off!!!

So, I went on Google to research moving companies. I found 2... and the ONLY reason I chose Blanchette's at the time... was because they had a Yelp review. And a good one at that. Well, let me just say... now only did the Yelp review confirm that using Blanchette's moving was a good pick... I thought they were as professional, helpful, friendly,and CARING as you can get. Mark, one of the movers... not only talked to me and my wife any chance he could get... he was funny, friendly, and just plain nice. They were SUPER fast and VERY efficient... having moved our entire house in about 4 hours. And the price was VERY affordable as well... well worth the investment. It's the only time I've moved where it literally felt as if I went from one place, and was able to walk into my new home... without much stress about the move. If you live in the Lewiston/Auburn area and you're looking to move... I honestly would never use any other company besides Blanchette's. Blanchette's made the entire process easy, Joanne was SO friendly and helpful on the phone... and I couldn't be happier.

He left me feeling confident and assured. Then I got a reminder call 24 hours ahead of time. On moving day, the crew of 2 showed up right on time and got to work. When they got the desk into my house I realized I had underestimated its size, so furniture had to be moved in order to place the desk in a better spot. I knew I would be paying for an extra 30 minutes but they did it without complaining. Estate stuff is heart-wrenching but Blanchette's made this part easier. I'd give ten stars if I could.

I believe they charge you from the time they leave their facility until the time they return, so keep that in mind when estimating your own cost and keep careful track of when they come and go so that you don't get charged more as that almost happened to us. Their employees were friendly and polite and arrived within the timeframe they had promised. We had three guys show (instead of the two that were expected). They moved the furniture fairly quickly as we had a tight window to complete the move on both ends. Unfortunately, there were a couple of items (an electric fireplace and a shelf that we are aware of thus far) that we discovered had minor damage, so be sure to wrap everything carefully that you really care about. They also forgot to bring some of the bolts for the bed frame (which we discovered later) and their drill from the first location, so my husband had to drive back to original house to let them in. Despite these few issues, we were happy to have movers who actually showed up when promised and did what they said they were going to do. We would absolutely consider using them again.
