Hiring them for my move (a three-parter, with part one in Central Mass, part two in Allston, culminating in the final destination in the Back Bay of Boston) was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Andrew, Andrew (yes, another one), and CJ were early to my first location, brought ample packing cloths and other moving accouterments, and maintained a jovial demeanor throughout the entire day. And when the City of Boston didn't come out to tow a car that had been parked in front of my building, in clear view of the temporary moving parking permit that I had paid for, Andrew and his team didn't bat an eyelash - they double parked, put on their hazard flashers, and got to work. I moved from Boston to NYC last week and Andrew and his team made my move a breeze. I requested an estimate online and received a response right away. Andrew came to my apartment for an confirming onsite estimate and I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge of Boston-to-NYC moves, but he was also friendly and laid back, a great combo! I checked out a bunch of other movers, and Clean Cut Movers offered a flat rate vs. hourly, which was really helpful for a move to New York where they could have been some crazy unknowns and delays. He and his team definitely knew their stuff. He even delivered the exact right number of boxes (I literally did not have one box left over!) and gave me a decent deal on materials. They showed right up on time in Boston on Sunday evening and dropped off even my stuff earlier than expected in NYC on Monday. They took apart my futon and put it back together--above and beyond! After pricing out moving services of the larger companies it became obvious that unless I wanted to spend a minimum of $800 on my move, I was out of luck. That is until I came across Clean Cut Movers on craigslist. I was naturally hesitant, because I still feel like craigslist is a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose horribly. I was a stricter than strict budget so when I told Andrew this he was perfectly understanding. Since I had my own truck rented already his hourly rate for two men was incredibly affordable. I must have emailed him four times prior to my move date all aflutter and nervous, but he was very reassuring. Andrew and his crew member showed up early and went straight to work. They had my apartment packed up in the truck in under two hours. And they've clearly been doing this for some time as the truck was packed perfectly with plenty of room to spare. Nothing was broken, chipped or damaged in any way during the packing or the move. They moved me into my third floor walk-up in two hours. They took apart anything that couldn't be fit up the stairs and then reassembled once in the apartment. They were incredibly efficient and professional. I used these guys to move my family from a sublet in South Boston to a new apartment in Somerville. Because we had been subletting a furnished apartment, most of our stuff (but not all) was in a storage space in Medford. These guys picked up our stuff in South Boston, drove to Medford, picked up our stuff there, drove to Somerville and moved all of our stuff into our new 2nd floor apartment in about 3 1/2 hours. I started contacting moving companies at the last minute to provide two movers to unload my 16' moving truck. Out of the 10 or so companies I contacted, Clean Cut Movers was the only company that had available movers for the popular July 1st move in date. I contacted the company by e-mail and received a reply from Andrew less than 24 hours later. I confirmed the reservation by e-mail and requested that the movers arrive at 3pm. On July 1st, the 2 movers arrived promptly at 3pm and began carrying boxes and furniture up to my new apartment on the 3rd floor. The 2 guys were friendly, young, and strong. They worked quickly and only briefly rested to take sips of water during the two hour period. They were very careful with all of our belongings and did a fantastic job. I would not have been able to complete the move without their help. I highly recommend Clean Cut Movers, and I will use their services again in the future. read more

I should have started with Yelp. But instead I googled moving companies and spent an hour on the phone with sketchy guys (you know who you are). This was for my daughter's college move in and I was arranging everything from California. The last thing I needed was problems 3,000 miles away. Andrew at Clean Cut Movers fit us into his busy September 1st. There seemed to be a standard fee of $180. per hour with every company I spoke with but some of the sketchy guys wanted me to pull a permit for parking at pick up and drop off, were going to charge additional for travel time to and from their warehouse in Eastjesus and gas. After I spoke with Andrew and set the price and date, The following is his exact email that I received within 10 minutes: "Thanks for your call today. As we discussed, we can provide 3 movers and a truck for and hourly rate of $180/hr with a 2 hour minimum charge. The time would start with our arrival and end with your daughter's satisfaction upon delivery. The rate is all inclusive, and we will arrive ready to work with all the pads, tools, dollies, tape and gear needed. Also included at no extra charge is insurance coverage. There is $1 million of Commercial Liability, $1 million of General Liability, $25,000 of Cargo Insurance, as well as Workers Compensation. Payment is due in full at the completion of the move via cash or check, minus a $100 deposit required to book which is credited to the final bill. The deposit check can be made out to Clean Cut Movers and mailed to:" Talk about peace of mind. Last week he emailed to tell me they would arrive between 10:30-11:00am. Traffic slowed them down a bit (Sept 1st, no surprise) but they were in contact to let us know. My daughter said they showed up and were moving quickly. She moved from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor about a mile away. They accomplished everything to her satisfaction in less than two hours. You know what they say.....priceless! In late July, the bf and I moved from Walpole MA to Watertown MA which is about 30 miles apart. I opted for and early morning move to start at 8am to beat the heat. They were done 11:30am. Their moving process was very strategic with 2 guys packing the apt and carrying it down to the truck and Andrew stacking it in the truck. Their cost structure is super simple. For the hourly fee you get everything you need-3 movers, 1 truck, all materials (tape, blankets), and moving insurance. Plus $100 for travel fees. They take care of all the moving hassles and charge in 15 min increments from the minute they arrive to the minute they put down the last item at the new place. No hidden fees. Very easy to calculate the final cost. I got them donuts and water during the move. Gotta replenish those calories! Again, highly recommended. read more

We used Clean Cut Movers to move my son to a new apt in Boston. I live in Miami so everything was arranged through email. The process was easy. The day of the move the movers were about 30 minutes late, but it was September 1st when every student in Boston moves and traffic is horrendous, so it was understandable. They called us to let us know they would be a bit late. The movers were courteous and efficient. The apt was empty in 45 minutes. They were in the new place relatively quickly and the unloading was done quickly too. The move was done within the estimated time. I recommend them! read more

I cannot say enough about Clean Cut Movers. They were absolutely fantastic, very professional, and made my move from Boston to New York as easy as could be. I needed to movers the last week of August, and every other mover I had been speaking with was going to double their rates to take their crew out of Boston around September 1. When I found Clean Cut Movers the rate was in line with what I was expecting, and they didn't attempt to extort me given the timing (which they easily could have). I really like that they are flat fee. There were absolutely no hidden charges for mileage and materials, I knew exactly what I was paying from the get go. Andrew and CJ were super efficient, punctual, just nice guys. I had to beg them to stop even for a bottle of water. They made sure someone was near the truck at all times, even asking me at one point, which I was totally ok with. When we got to New York they made a couple trips in, and there was a monsoon. I again begged them to take a break to wait it out. They stopped just long enough to let the worst of the storm pass, and then they were right back at it. i'm sorry to report that i had a really disappointing experience with clean cut movers. pros: very responsive, on time, professional. cons: ineffective and really slow. things were starting off okay - they brought great tools like handcarts, etc. for actually getting the stuff INTO my apartment - but unfortunately building furniture, which was a BIG reason i hired a moving company, is not their forte. it took way more than two hours to build a bed, a desk, two dining chairs, and a counter table w/ two barstools (all very easy to assemble - i buy it cheap but not IKEA crazy). on top of that, several pieces of furniture, including my dining chairs and barstools and counter table, are quite rickety (one even broke from being so badly put together). not only do i generally not care for relaxing on rickety furniture, the resale value of my furniture is seriously impacted. :( as a comparison point, my best friend (who is not a professional mover but now that i think about it, probably could be) put together a really complicated bookshelf and a corner shelf in less than an hour, and did a much more solid job. it's cool, i bought him domino's as a thank you. really nice guys, but they need to practice speed AND competence - i'm super disappointed. :( i'm probably going to go with ghetto asian movers like i've done before and probably should have next time... read more

This was my third time using professional movers, and my best experience. After contacting Andrew, we scheduled a time for home to visit my home to take inventory and assess my moving needs. Three days before my moving date, the moving parking permit signs were properly posted. On the day of the move, the crew showed up exactly on time. After this experience, I will NEVER move WITHOUT hiring Clean Cut Movers again! Well worth the money!! I was hesitant at first because of the cost and decided to shop around. I did find less expensive companies but none of them came to my apartment first and gave me a quote. Andrew came and looked at what I had to move in order to give me an accurate quote. The less expensive quotes were only an "estimate". Andrew gave me the quote in writing and guaranteed there were no hidden charges or additional costs. After reading some horror stories about other people going with other comapnies being charged crazy amounts for a simple move, I ended up making the decision to go with Clean Cut Movers. I am happy I did, the move went unbelievably smooth. They showed up right on time and went right to work! I moved from an apartment where my stuff was on 3 floors to a 1 bedroom first floor condo. They did my move in 3 hours. It was a piece of cake (for me). Normally I get stressed out, dragging my move out for days, this move was over in done with in less than a half of day. I even went and had a beer while they were unloading at my new place :) Nothing was damaged, they were pleasant, I couldn't have been happier! Highly recomend Clean Cut Movers. The good things about Clean Cut Movers first: They came on time, were very polite, and worked very hard throughout most of the time spent moving. They also moved a very heavy desk that most movers probably would have balked at (it broke, but is still semi-usable). Now the less-good things: I originally hired Clean Cut Movers because they gave me a quote and reassured me, in writing, that the actual price would be no more than 25% more than the quote. They quoted me 3 hours to move two people, both living separately in Cambridge, into a new apartment in Cambridge. The move ended up taking them about 5 hours, and at the end, the owner said he wanted to negotiate because it had taken him so much longer than he would be getting paid for. We ended up meeting in the middle and I paid for 4 1/2 hours of labor. I felt like it should have been his responsibility, however, to provide an accurate quote, especially considering we didn't even move a lot of furniture that I originally inventoried because we needed to leave it for a subletter. Also, there is a new hole in my box spring and a broken dresser, casualties of the move. Also, we waited for half an hour at the second apartment (5 blocks away) for them to bring the truck over to load. The excuse for taking so long to arrive was that they were talking to the management company at the first apartment to get more business from residents. Good movers are hard to find. If you do go with Clean Cut, be sure to push them to listen to your entire inventory and provide an accurate quote. read more

Andrew and his team are great! We used clean cut movers for our move from the Cape to South Boston and Andrew was nothing but helpful during our email correspondence. He even offered to answer any questions about South Boston for us. The only reason I'll give them four stars is because they were an hour late, but they did call and let us know that they were running an hour behind schedule due to computer problems. Andrew worked on our move with one other guy and they were both extremely professional hard workers. Our move took longer than estimated but he stuck to the same hourly rate so I wasn't surprised at all in the end. (We just had more stuff than he thought - not their fault at all) They barely even took a break for lunch! We bought some pizza for everyone and I saw them running back and forth while eating it!
