Expensive, don't know the right product to recommend, bad customer service. Came here to get help with a powder/bullet recipe for my muzzleloader. They sold me a powder that said would work but when I got home and called the manufacturer of my gun they said the powder these guys sold me is not rated for my muzzleloader. Brought my powder back the next day (sealed and unopened) and they wouldn't return it. Now I'm stuck with the expensive powder they sold me which I can't use. read more

I was in search of a very particular firearm when I stumbled across The Reloading Zone on the internet. I jumped into the car with the entire family and headed to their shop. When we arrived I noticed that they closed at 6pm, the current time was 5:52pm. I inquired about the gun and the man working the counter pulled it out of the case for my inspection. Knowing already that I wanted the firearm I told him "I'll take it" and we began the paperwork. If you've purchased a firearm you know this can be a long process as CBI can delay things quite a bit. At about the 6:30 mark my wife and one of my kids start doing the potty dance. I asked about a restroom which they clearly didn't have but yet he took the time to walk them down to a unit that did. Finally 6:45 and the background check goes through, he rings us up and I'm short on cash by a couple bucks. Then again he goes the extra mile and calls it sqaure. So Mike I owe you one and I appreciate you going the extra mile and being so hospitable. If you are looking for a wonderful firearm, reloading and accessory shop check them out. Great shop. Called them during the week to ask about their reloading machine display. As soon as I walked in there was a lot to take in. I stood there getting an idea of what I wanted. Mike came over after a few minutes and talked to me about options, not pushy, but very informative. Also worth noting that at any moment of the day, his customers are also very knowledgeable about reloading. This is a very passionate group of people that take on this hobby. A month later I've spent a good chunk of change getting my Dillon gear set up. It's all been very worth it. Mike and Leo have been good mentors as well as salesmen. I built most my rifles so I don't have much experience with buying firearms here, but I have noticed they have an excellent selection. In the future I'll look into buying a bolt action from this store just to support local business. read more

The customer service here was worth the Drive. I had been looking at a Bushmaster AR15 that was on a sporting goods store web site. The store was out of the one I wanted but I found an ad on one of the firearms sites showing that TRZ had the same rifle and the price was even better. I went to TRZ and they had the rifle in stock. I told the young man behind the counter that this would be my first long gun of this kind and asked him to go through the gun with me. He was very patient as he showed the rifle to me and answered all of my questions. He even field stripped the gun for me and put it back together. The owner of the shop noticed I was looking at the Bushmaster QRC and recommended the DPMS instead, she told me the lower was the same but the upper was better and I could add a better sight and still save some money. I went with her suggestion and they mounted the sight for me while waiting for my background check. I drove almost an hour to go to this store and will not hesitate to make future purchases here. read more

I have made several purchases here and have always forgotten to review it. Mike and Mary are amazing. Their customer service is too notch. Mary and I communicated through email, many times late at night because of my schedule, and she was able to track down a specific gun for me. She had it overnighted, and in my hands at a good price. On another occasion, she had the gun I wanted already in stock, again at a great price. It's really simple, my friend. Mike and Mary Jo are the very best around. Period. I've been slowly buying firearms over the past 15 years or so. I vividly remember the Gunsmoke days (the first destination I drove to on the day I received my drivers license in 2005) I've shopped at and annoyed every gun store counter within the Denver-metro area since before I could drive. Some come very close but there can only be one best. The first time we bought a firearm from this family it was out of their house. They deserve to be King and Queen of the Colorado gun community, and in my humble opinion, they are. CCW class is exceptional, prices are right, reloading knowledge and support is suburb, but most importantly the ownership makes you feel like family so long as you aren't an idiot, don't worry Mary Jo will let you know ;) This is my very favorite place to spend money in Colorado, they are that good. When I have time to visit it is usually the best part of my day. If this shop was any more down-to-earth it'd be in Carlsbad Caverns! read more

This is a well-stocked shop hidden in plain view. They carry a nice selection of firearms (both handguns as well as long guns) but, where they really set themselves apart, is on their reloading components and accessories selection (with a name like "The Reloading Zone, I wasn't expecting anything less). They have a decent selection of powders; mostly one-pounders which, given the difficulty of finding powders these days, is more than most other shops are able to carry. They also have a good selection of Dillon products, from whole loading machines to small parts. Their prices are not out of line with the current market situation. If you want it cheaper, you'll have to order online and pay the Hazmat fee. Mike (the owner) is a wealth of information. Some have said that he comes across a 'stand-offish' but I would have to disagree. Both he and his wife are busy running this store so you will see them working on projects while you shop around. Nonetheless, if you ask for guidance from either of them, they will be more than happy to help you find what you are after. But don't expect them to leave what they are working on to chit-chat with you. If you want to be a gun store chatter, you are going to need to find another place for that. However, if you know what you need and want a conveniently located store to get it right now, this is the place for you. read more

I've purchased 3 firearms from TRZ and really enjoy the whole experience. In fact, I find myself making up reasons to go in the shop, even if I don't need anything! I'm a newbie and ask a lot of stupid questions, and they seem genuinely happy to help. Even my wife enjoys going into the shop. Mary Jo is quick to show you anything you want, share her opinion if you ask (and sometimes if you don't ask, ;-) ), and help you find something that you'll like. Mike will get you rung up and out the door in short order. Many times, I'll chat up other customers and they always seem to be thrilled to share thoughts, opinions, etc. on what I'm looking at. It's like hanging out at your neighborhood coffee shop, but without the pretentious baristas! They even answer emails on Sundays and holidays - good, old-fashioned customer service! Not only that, but their prices seem to be consistently 10-20% less than the big box stores. In short, I always feel good about my purchase, and much of that is because they are good people, running a good shop, and they seem to really enjoy what they do. Hands down, the best firearms store between Colorado Springs and Cheyenne, and trust me I've been to them all. I've bought about 25 or 30 guns from this mom and pops shop, and one thing they don't fail on is their super low pricing. No one beats them, even online stores after the FFL transfer fees end up close to or more costly than just shopping at Reloading Zone. If you don't see something you want in the store - be it magazines or a certain gun - Mary Jo will search for it and text message you if she finds it. They also try their best to have the hottest new firearms in as soon as they become available. Skip the Tanner Gun Show, or that 5280 Armory further up the interstate that damages magazines, and do your shopping with the Reloading Zone. read more

I was beyond impressed with this place. I stopped at Cabela's before stopping here, and first off the staff was way more helpful and actually took the time to explain things to you. That was apparent less than ten minutes into my visit. I then noticed they have way better deals on firearms and on ammo. Everyone there I spoke too was awesome and I will absolutely be returning to purchase more. Plus, supporting small business is something I'll always prefer than throwing more money towards a corporate store. Five stars, hands down! read more

Visited the store yesterday for the first time. Clean well presented store. Prices were very reasonable which is not necessarily the norm for small, local businesses. Large selection of pistols, shotguns and rifles. I was helped by both Mike and his wife and couldn't of expected anything more. Fast, painless purchase. It may have just been my lack of observational skills, but I didn't know this place existed before a google search. Very dissappointing experience...They had a henry 45-70 marked $375.00 I spoke with the owner Mike. reguarding the low cost of the gun. He replied, "Nothing wrong with the gun we just offer great prices." I than asked if they offered lay away, he said yes 20% down and 60 days to pay the balance. 20% he would need about $80.00 I discused the purchase with my wife and decides to make the purchase. I than called the reloading zone and spoke to Mikes wife asking her to hold for me the henry 45-70 that was priced $375.00. I told her I was working and unable to pick up till thursday, however would be glad to pay over the phone today. She replied nicely that she would remove the gun and hold it till thursday, and the price would not change. I returned thursday to purchase the gun, only to find out that it had been marked wrong by another employee, the price would be $775.00 I did remind mike of our conversation while I was in the store regarding his comment," Nothing wrong with it we offer great prices." I am not certain who prices the firearms, however I believe that I discussed with the two owners the cost of that firearm, and at no time did they have a concern with the sticker price of $375.00. My visit today was very dissappointing :At no time did either owner offer any deal, or match to the price discussed.The owners wife just scolded her husband stating that he needed to be careful when pricing the guns. I will make it a point to let fellow hunters, and gun owners know NOT to deal with this shop. VERY unprofessional and missleading in the false advertising. I have visited this (fairly new) shop a few times already and each time I am very satisfied when I leave. Even if I don't purchase anything. They are by no means the largest store around, or have the larges supply of accessories but overall I value community and authentic customer/business owner relationships. This place is so friendly! Their selection of firearms leaves a little bit to desire, but they are a new shop and i'll certainly be giving them a little more time to develop. From the prices I've seen on what they do carry, i will definitely purchase my next firearm or accessory here. I vote stop in and check them out, if they don't have what you need i'm sure they can get it for you with a smile. I was also happy to walk in and see a very friendly Woman behind the register, not something you see very often. Which i liked, and why i recommend this spot to my lady shooting friends. Plus, from what i can tell they don't have their employees get on Yelp as consumers to recommend their own store to everyone (like OD Green Supply does down the road a bit). Where do I start, these guys are the BEST gun store in the area and the married couple that owns the place are wonderful people. Hubby seems very serious most of the time and his wife likes to joke alot, a perfect balance if you ask me. Their prices on firearms are super low, and the only lower prices I can find anywhere are from online sources but after the FFL and ship fees you save maybe 15 bucks going the online route. So, I don't waste time online unless I'm after a relic. The Reloading Zone will do their best to get a custom request in for you, be it a firearm or other related accessory. They do it all the time for a bunch of us, and even these one-off type orders for them are deeply discounted. Their inventory is also excellent for the size of the shop. I estimate 40-50 long guns on display at any point along with 70-ish handguns, almost all at bargain prices. I hope they stay around for a very long time. read more

I work nearby and never went in until this week. I happened to see a Walther PPS on consignment which I liked. The piece came with the case, a lock, extra magazines. I was happy with the purchase and went home. A couple days later, I found a PPS holster with a personal note from Mary Jo on my door step. The holster had actually came with the gun but it wasn't with the case when I bought it. Mary Jo realized this later and dropped it off at my house. What service! Most people nowadays would have said "oh well" and pitched it or just called me to pick it up. This is what a small business should be like. Patronize the shop with full confidence! This nicely located, family owned gun shop is a great little place. i recently purchased a gun from Cabellas. it took over an hour for the background check to be completed. about 2 months later i came to this little shop that my brother told me about. i went in and i was immediately greeted by the two owners of the store. i told them what gun i was looking for and within seconds they had shown me the gun and gave me the paperwork. within 10 minutes after i had completed the paperwork they had completed the background check. during which time i was engaged in pleasent small talk with the owner. i was in and out with in 20 minutes and the next day i was out popping cans with my new little rifle. this is a great shop with a great selection, great prices, and a sweet display room. i will be returning here for my future purchases. before you go anywhere else... check this place out. you won't regret it. read more
