I can only guess but I assume that, before the pandemic hit, the menu was broader and more varied. And also the restaurant would have been packed - so I can only rate by our multiple experiences from our idyllic 3 day stay in early October (our anniversary weekend) at this wonderful hotel.
First - the restaurant is beautiful, romantic and historic - plus immaculately clean. The staff are attentive, friendly, warm and work together as a well-oiled machine. COVID regulations (spacing extremely generous) and PPE (all servers wear masks)
Our first "meal" there was an afternoon cream tea. Brilliant and ample - bottomless servings of various teas, then a wide selection of ginger sandwiches, then large scones, preserves and the delectable cream. Yum - they saved some for us for day 2 in their refrigerator and gave it to us with a more fresh cream!
Dinners - you can see the selections, we must have tried about everything and provided picture and then the breakfast,
Two big things up!
Will we be back? YES YES YES!! read more
