Deli Brasserie has just re-opened its cafe upstairs, now under new ownership. If you're looking for…read moresomething a little bit different in Banbury this is well worth a try. We went for breakfast, and had eggs benedict and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. The food was excellent. They also offer a full english breakfast for any meat eaters.. The lunch menu looked very interesting with much of the ingredients coming from the Deli shop downstairs, including a selection of tapas and antipasta. They don't open evenings yet but they are hoping to in the future. Someone told us the chef used to work at Hyltons, and has obviously brought some ideas with him, as well as the quality of food. The deli shop has some wonderful cheeses to chose from. They used to sell artisan bread but nfortunately they can;t get a supply anymore - which is a real shame. We'll be off to try lunch someday soon and will tell you how that goes.

The joint wasn't exactly jumping because of the general maturity of the clientelle but the music was getting feet tapping around the room and a rumble of sympathetic harmony from those who could remember the tunes if not the words. The food was of very good quality and enjoyed by all who were at our table. The starters were varied and the main dish of duck and pork with seasonal vegetables very well cooked and presented. Sweets were fruit marengue and a chocolate coffee orange fondant which was very acceptable, All in all it was a good family evening out and enjoyed by us all. Thank you!
