Hardworking crew and beautiful air conditioned boats…read more Not alway the first to show or leave the dock. After several years I kind of just expect them to be late. It's a bit frustrating but they put you on the fish when all the other boats are out exploring. Radio's shorten the path to where the fish are. The boats are flawless. And after spending a day in the sun fighting fish sitting or napping in the cabin thats 72 degrees is pretty amazing. The deck hand and captain work hard to put you on the fish but also entertain and share their fishing knowledge. I've been on other boats who don't chum. Jen Wren are catching bait fish and letting skipjacks float off the back of the boat. They had so many poles in the water at first. But when we got on the tuna we were just fishing 5 poles as there 3 passengers and 2 Jen wren employees. They were quick to help us in the fight and make it as fun as possible. Lucky tip: we caught 4 triggers, 2 dorados and 3 tuna all off cut skipjack slices. The Minos didn't produce anything other than bait fish. BTW triggers make great ceviche. Spend a little extra money for the comfort of knowing the boats are well maintained and you have the option of cooling off in the cabin.

We fished Jen Wren III yesterday with Polo and Armando. We used a different business the day…read morebefore. The boat is nice and well equipped. I run my own boat out of Alaska so this is not a no fish complaint. Some days you catch fish and some you don't. The crew was just inattentive and unconcerned. We were asked what we wanted to fish for and we said tuna or whatever is biting. We went 20 miles offshore and trolled for marlin for 5 hours without another boat in sight. Thats great but they put 5 rods in the water and the deckhand went back up top and went to sleep. On the less expensive charter the day before we had 5 rods in the water at all times, two teasers and the deckhand and captain were continuously changing things out and tossing live bait into the water. We caught two Whaoo and hooked two marlin the day before. The deckhand on this boat came down once, got some snacks for himself, made one change of ONE lure and went back up. I think they could hear our frustration so we picked up and ran 10 miles were the other boats were. Finally we were seeing lots of activity. Tuna! There was little frustration between the deckhand and the captain while they spent their time untangling the kite. We finally had ONE bite in about 20 minutes and the captain said it was time to go but we would troll for marlin again on the way back. REALLY?!! Well the deckhand put out four rods for show that could handle a high speed troll and went back up. We had been trolling about 7 knots but this time it felt like we were double that and headed home. We returned home with all of our live bait and no fish. It was just a day of frustration. Had the deckhand been on the rail working and talking to us the day would have been much different.

Unforgettable day trip up to Mag Bay with explore Baja to meet the whales. Highly recommend this…read moretrip, even though it is a long day. We were picked up at our airbnb in TS but our driver Chebo at 5am. He is the nicest person ever, and even returned to our house once we realized we had left our 6-year-old's prescription glasses behind in our rush to be ready so early. The van was spacious and comfortable, and after a quick stop to pick up the rest of our group, we were on our way. Frist stop was in La Paz to pick up our guide, Mariel. She is a wealth of knowledge and her love for all things aquatic is infectious. After leaving La Paz, we drove for about another hour before stopping for breakfast (included in the tour price), coffee (THANK GOODNESS), and a bathroom break. After scarfing down our breakfast burritos, we were back on the road to Mag Bay. It was around 4 hours all in, including La Paz traffic. Here we parked outside the preserve and walked to get our lifejackets and find our captain. NOTE: We brought a life jacket for our daughter because we weren't sure if they would have kid-sized life jacket and , reader, they did. They have everything. Save the space in your suitcase! Once we were all suited up we got on our boat with our captain, Kiko. We headed out of the mangroves into the bay and there we met the whales. We were in 3 or 4 locations, each time Kiko maneuvering us to the exact spot where the whales were waiting to greet us. There is nothing in the world like meeting and touching these majestic, gentle giants. This was my second time meeting the whales (first time was in Guerro Negro), but my daughter's first time. Safe to say it is a day that none of us will ever forget. After a few hours out on the water, we stopped for lunch (also included) before stating the drive home, where we were dropped back at our airbnb. I highly recommend explore Baja for a day trip to see the whales. And extra special thank you to Mariel, Kiko, and Chebo, each one of you made our day unforgettable.

My boyfriend dreamed to swim with the whale sharks for years. So when our air BNB lady recommended…read moreus this company to schedule a tour, we did exactly that and seal the deal by putting down 50% deposit at the shop. The day of the adventure: The van came to our air BNB at 6am (sharp!) to pick us up, and there we went! We boarded our boat at the harbor, then we joined a bunch of other tour boats on the quest of finding whale sharks! After a short boat ride, the guide spotted some and commended us to join him in the water! It was intimidating at first, but soon the excitement over-ruled the fear and we found ourselves swimming among the whale sharks! The water was warm and the visibility was great. We got to see those giants feeding on shrimps and admired them swimming so gracefully up closed! After that, we were taken to a sea-lion rock to swim with fishes, corals and sea lions. It was pretty awesome to see all creatures up close, and I didn't realized they sleep in the water with their fins up! I got too closed to the sea lions and I accidentally swallowed tiny amount of sea water when I was panically swimming away. All I could think of was: "oh damn, I just drank their poo and pee and who knows what else!". Rest assured thoI was perfectly fine after that! After all the actions, we were taken to this beautiful beach that has sugary fine white sand. Our tour guides quickly set up shades and lunch, and we got to enjoy the food, relax at the beach and played some more in the water. Now looking back, I really appreciate the friendly tour guides and their tour planning. Our van/boat/activities were on time and on schedule. There wasn't much of waiting around, but yet we didn't feel pressured. Overall, I'd recommend Baja Adventure to ppl who wants to explore the part of Baja which is harder to access!

We experienced treatment that made us question whether this fishing charter treats all customers…read morefairly -- definitely not recommended. We had a very disappointing experience on this fishing tour, especially compared to another group that went out at the same time. First, no one told us hotel pickup was available. We took an Uber to the marina, only to find out the other group was picked up directly from their hotel. We even end up walking to the dock by ourselves. Second, the boat we got looked nothing like the pictures on the website--old, worn down, and definitely not what we booked. Our captain also barely spoke any English, while the other group had a newer boat and a captain who could communicate easily. I'm not picky about the boat being old or new, but it should at least match the photos on the website. Third, we didn't even get to touch a fishing rod the entire 6 hours. The captain did everything himself and told us to just wait. Meanwhile, the other group was actively fishing the whole time. And the worst part: we didn't catch a single fish. ZERO. In a place where fish are supposed to be everywhere. We even saw a fish swim right by our boat and the captain still didn't try changing bait or techniques (He only tried trolling on the way back). The other group came back with actual fishes!!!!! The difference in treatment between our experience and theirs was so obvious: They got pickup, a better boat, an English-speaking captain, active fishing, and fish. We got none of that. Since the other two groups were white and we're Asian, it's hard not to wonder why our experience was so different. I really hope that wasn't the reason, but the contrast was too big to ignore. Overall, this was not the tour we were promised or the one we paid for. Definitely would not recommend.

Okay but taking up my fishing time. Then to my amazement, the inconsiderate new folks started getting seasick and puking! And they knew they could be seasick due to prior experience. But to my amazement, the boat decided to return to the marina. Really???? I have never heard of that! Usually policy is...you get sick, so sad. Could have gone out again but tired of the boat rides. They did charge me half-price but since this was my only day fishing....
