The fish and chips were amazing and a HUGE portion. Crispy batter (made to order) and tender, flaky fish. Slaw was great and fries were homemade and crispy . Our server Ian was friendly, helpful and attentive but not intrusive. We sat outside on the patio with a view of the water. If you're looking for great fish and chips- highly recommend!

We chose this restaurant after seeing the pictures of the huge Lobster Rolls that others had posted. There are 2 sizes, 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb. The 1/2 lb was $38.50, so double the price of other restaurants that serve more modest sized portions. But well worth it if you are a Lobster Roll lover like myself! The patio of this restaurant doesn't look over the water like many others do, but this wasn't a big deal for us as we were just looking for a quick bite. The restaurant was packed and there was a line up, but the waitresses weren't able to estimate the wait time. Not a big deal for us as we are on vacation and not in a big rush. One of the waitresses later told us a table was getting their bill and we could have their table. When we followed up with them later she said someone had rushed out and grabbed the table before she could give it to us. So the next time a table was almost ready she told us we should grab it before someone else did. Our orders were taken pretty quickly, and our drinks were brought out. But the food took a long time, at least 45 mins to come out. Most of the tables around us didn't have their food yet either, so we must have all sat down around the same time. It is a small kitchen and they are not used to large crowds so be prepared to be patient when you come. There were 4 of us in our party. I had the large lobster roll. It was a beautiful roll and the taste was okay, but not great. You could tell it was frozen lobster meat, which was a bit disappointing since we were on the East Coast. The Arcadian salad was fresh and tasty. Hubby had the poutine which he said was good, but nothing special. The kids had a grilled cheese sandwich and hot dog. The hot dog was huge and our 5 year old enjoyed it. The grilled cheese sandwich looked good and our daughter finished it as well. Overall, it's an okay restaurant, but if you are looking for lobster rolls, I'd go somewhere else.

It's like watching a welled oiled machine at work. Our server was taking care of the bar area, serving orders etc...., such a cute place. Loved the vibe. Loved the food. He was on top of his game. Not missing a beat and taking care of his customers. I ordered the fish & chips. Huge portion. Very good. I also tried a Cesear. Their version of a Bloody Mary. I ordered it spicy and boy did that hit the spot!

Good pub with decent burgers, good poutine, great staff, full bar, good selection of beers, great proximity to the wharf, and the ability to stay focused and keep things going even when large crowds descend on the place.

1/2 pound frozen, watery lobster roll. Looks are very deceiving! Yuck!

Not good. Plain and simple. My husband and I were talked into ordering the 1/2 pound lobster roll by a local at the bar. We would have gotten the 1/4 pound but were told it was soooo worth the extra $15 bucks per roll. I knew we were screwed when the bar tender said to the local "you talked them into an "upcharge" too? Then laughed...right in front of us. Really? First of all...gross cold fries and frozen onion rings. Second, frozen, watery (I suppose from being thawed to fast or frozen to long) lobster on a ridiculously stale hot dog bun which was wet...yes wet on the bottom...soaked...from frozen lobster, I presume. Ugh...the buns were like the cheap brand you buy at any discount grocery store. We ordered two beers and two margaritas. Bill with tip was $140. Two rolls, two beers and two margaritas. $140. This restaurant was recommended to us by the shuttle driver at The Algonquin Hotel. It was horrible. Just wow. Shame on the owner. Such a bad first impression of our first night in St Andrews. PS I rarely, give a review this bad but when it's owed...here you go.

I was leaning toward something quick like Subway -- simple, predictable. But my wife spotted The Pub on Main in St. George. I was still set on Subway until she casually mentioned it was wing night. That was all the convincing I needed. When we arrived, the place was quiet but had that unmistakable small‑town vibe -- the kind that feels welcoming right away. Slowly, the tables filled, and the atmosphere came alive. Drinks were quick to arrive, and I even discovered a new cider favorite: #StormCider. The Food Rundown My wife ordered the pesto fettuccine and later said it was better than a dish at one of our "fancier" go‑to restaurants. Kid #1 demolished the pizza and garlic fingers, then dipped into Kid #2's fries without hesitation or permission! Kid #2 had a burger and fries and ate all! Kid #3 went for wings, started strong, but eventually tapped out -- couldn't handle any more but did say they were great wings! And me? Wings, of course. Wing night is non‑negotiable. Wing Verdict Years ago, I did a wing challenge across local restaurants to find the best. The Pub on Main would absolutely be a strong contender. Flavorful, crispy, and satisfying -- exactly what you want when you commit to wings. Final Thoughts This spot is a diamond in the rough and a real asset to the St. George area. It's the kind of place that surprises you with quality and atmosphere, and makes you glad you skipped the predictable option. With three more trips planned to the area, I'm hoping we'll stop in again -- because those wings deserve a repeat performance. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g642241-d12384565-r1038672308-Pub_On_Main-St_George_New_Brunswick.html#

This spot is cozy and quaint and full of friendly local staff members. It was Kentucky Derby day and a lot of folks we were watching it as we walked in, ambiance was jovial and loud. Greeted immediately by the hostess and bartender and waited a short while for a table to open up. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the Reuben. He is Jewish and loves Reubens, gets them all the time. He said this one was really, really good. Great texture to the meat. Now, my Chicken Sandwich - was the best I've ever had in my life. I told my husband, I will be holding any and all future chicken sandwiches up to this one as the benchmark. The breaded chicken breast was huge and delicious quality white meat. It was dipped in buffalo sauce, and had fresh slaw, pickles, tomato and blue cheese sauce. It was DECADENT and it really hit the spot for me after a long day. I could not stop eating it. YUMMMM. Oh, we also ordered the pub fries - loaded with aioli and cheese and greens. Fries were delish but a bit too much aioli for our taste. Still, wonderful! Huge portion. Overall, food was yummy, out quickly, service was great and we loved the vibes. Easily a fav for us on this trip and we'll be looking forward to coming back again some day!

I started off with the only draft lager, the Midnight Train. It was dark and had a coffee taste which is not my thing. I had asked the waitress if she had ever tried it and she had not, but did offer a taste first which I declined. There is a huge wrap around bar or wooden tables to dine in. Casual ambience. Restrooms were very clean. I had the fish and chips and that came out quickly. The house made tarter was very good, along with the coleslaw. I ordered a side of cowboy beans and they were flavorful and hearty. Really delicious. However, it is a huge portion for a side (maybe the size should be specified or marked as a sharable) and there was no price listed on the menu. The price was $10, pretty steep for a side in my opinion (which I learned only after getting the check). I decided to take the beans home with a hot dog to go, and was told the dog comes with a side as well; apparently you cannot just get a dog alone! So that was $8 for a dog and a sad portion of kraut that was just ok. The bill came to $45.90 and I gave the waitress $60 and she asked, "do you want your change?" Seems she expected a huge tip based on minimal service. I politely said "yes, please." My change was $14.10. She brought back $14 but not the 10 cents. Seems like a dumb thing to complain about, but this is not right. Not giving people the correct change is never ok and it works in the restaurants favor and screws the customer and based on that fact alone, I would not recommend and don't plan to return.
