I started off with the only draft lager, the Midnight Train. It was dark and had a coffee taste which is not my thing. I had asked the waitress if she had ever tried it and she had not, but did offer a taste first which I declined. There is a huge wrap around bar or wooden tables to dine in. Casual ambience. Restrooms were very clean. I had the fish and chips and that came out quickly. The house made tarter was very good, along with the coleslaw. I ordered a side of cowboy beans and they were flavorful and hearty. Really delicious. However, it is a huge portion for a side (maybe the size should be specified or marked as a sharable) and there was no price listed on the menu. The price was $10, pretty steep for a side in my opinion (which I learned only after getting the check). I decided to take the beans home with a hot dog to go, and was told the dog comes with a side as well; apparently you cannot just get a dog alone! So that was $8 for a dog and a sad portion of kraut that was just ok. The bill came to $45.90 and I gave the waitress $60 and she asked, "do you want your change?" Seems she expected a huge tip based on minimal service. I politely said "yes, please." My change was $14.10. She brought back $14 but not the 10 cents. Seems like a dumb thing to complain about, but this is not right. Not giving people the correct change is never ok and it works in the restaurants favor and screws the customer and based on that fact alone, I would not recommend and don't plan to return.

Ok. I'm not going to lie. When I first looked at the menu I actually headed next door to…read moreMargarita's to eat instead. Boy do I regret that decision! We came back the following night for a REAL treat... First of all, Tony was our server. What an absolute sweetheart!! He had nothing but fantastic recommendations for us. He was definitely not your standard "waiter". He spoke to us like we were regulars, which we appreciated, considering we were from Massachusetts. We ordered three of his suggestions: wings, fish and chips and the spicy margarita. Outside of what was recommended we also got the beer cheese and GIANT soft pretzel, bangers and mash and the creme brûlée. First off- this was my first time trying beer cheese, so I was beyond excited. I hate pretzels, however. Guess what?? They were BOTH SOOO GOOD!! The pretzel was the size of my giant head and was so soft & salty. It really paired well with the creamy beer cheese. I'd come back just for this appetizer every time. The wings too, actually! I was a little hesitant because I read the word "dill" on the menu but they really tasted more like Buffalo wings with a note of dill at the very end. I think I might be in love.... On to the main event! The Smithwick's beer battered fish and chips... WOW. It was a little different than I'm used to (which was a great thing in this case). The batter was thick and crispy (I'm used to thinner) and the haddock was super moist. Very fresh! I order this meal wherever I go and this is definitely in my top 3 (out of probably 50 others). I was hoping I could switch out the chips for fries because, well, I've never had traditional chips before! I must say I was pleasantly impressed though! They were the BEST and completed the dish perfectly. My fiancé had the bangers and mashed. He said it was good and very traditional. I did not indulge, so I can't relay that in my review. Last, we ended the meal with a MUST try....the creme brûlée. LEAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT! The top was a hard sugar coating while the rest was truly a creamy dream. I might have to stop back in JUST for this before I head back home! 5 stars. Definitely. 6 stars for service!!

I opted for the two grilled hotdogs dressed with kraut, chilli and yellow mustard alongside a bowl of the Mac and a pickle spear. Shannon took great care of me! Drinks filled, no waiting for service. She offered social talk along with a nice Irish girl moral compass. I truly appreciate your candor and amazing service! Cheers Shannon! Shane!

The restaurant is tucked away from the main road and has plenty of seating inside and out. Nice little bar area decorated very nautical and cute. The star of the show was the blueberry margarita - WOW! That alone was 5 stars. The food was decent, we got a salad and some chicken tenders and then the Brussels sprouts. As you walk in, they note that it might take extra time to make your food because it's a small kitchen made to order but we were pleasantly surprised at how efficient they were! Our waitress was kind and helpful. If we were locals to this area definitely would be back!

The story goes that years ago as the fishermen were starving during a bad fishing season..., the locals survived on pickled wrinkles. This is likely the only place on the planet that serves this unique delicacy. Don't miss the chance to try it. The crab cakes are delicious too. The place is rustic so the ambiance is pure Maine. Folks are friendly and helpful. One of the most unique places in Maine. The owner is Jesse and a nice guy. Tell him the Hobbs from SC sent you.
