Fortunate enough to catch opening night at Eastport's newest waterfront establishment"The Rumery!"
Amazing work with the interior remodel and incorporation of building history with this chic cocktail bar. Street parking all along the main street or at fish pier parking lot just across the street.
Great selection of seafood based starters between the oysters, shrimp cocktail, lox and crab dip as one begins to tackle the large variety of martinis, manhattans, beer or wine.
The shrimp cocktail was amazing with fresh plumb shrimp served on a bed of ice with a choice of cocktail sauce, horseradish or a cucumber mint. The creamy crab dip with pita chips is a flavorful combination of lump crab, cheese blend with green onions. The luscious lox is a great blend of lox, cream cheese, dill, capers and red onion served with bagel chips and sliced cucumbers.
The pistachio martini was on the specials menu which was delicious! Rimmed with crushed pistachios this is a smooth martini for those that enjoy pistachios, one of my favorites!
The espresso martini has wonderful art on top which is almost a crime to sip through, but alas one must enjoy that drink!
The sparkling raspberry was a little heavy on the vodka for me, but overall a great concept. Will give this one another try as may have just been an off drink with the grand opening as they get into their groove.
To finish the cannoli dip is an excellent take on a good comfort food! Smaller cannoli chips with a creamy spread to enjoy was an excellent way to close out this experience.
The service is extremely friendly and prompt to take care of your needs for a great time out. Between bar seating, small window seating area to a table seating configuration, plenty of options to choose from depending on the size of group you may have with you as you make your way down the beautiful waterfront venues.
The ambiance is classy yet casual in that just so Eastport way! When at occupancy it can be a little loud if you are seeking a quite or more intimate setting of course this is crowd specific. Fully understand there was a level of excitement for all of those present for opening night.
If you are a martini fan and enjoy some seafood centric starters, ensure you stop into the Rumery when in town. You will not be disappointed and I can't wait to try more of the menu!
