Shoutout to Roseville. Sur La Table in the Fountains shopping plaza…read more The Hubs was obsessed with finding a garlic keeper. He likes to cook with fresh garlic. He read an article about one a few months ago and been on the lookout for one since. Not just any ole one. But one that is white colored, having a aplain exterior, and simply designed. He saw one online at Sur La Table. So we trucked out there on a recent weekend. Sur La Table sells kitchenware that includes cutlery, cookware, cooking utensils, bakeware, food products, glassware, table clothes and linens, and small electronics. They carry well known brands such as Staub, Le Creuset, Breville, Wusthof, Shun just to name a few. And the bonus is that they offer cooking classes for a fee. On my recent visit, the staff were so darn sincere and helpful. Not intrusive. The shop is not particularly large. But as I meandered about, I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance multiples times but once by each staff member. That's customer service! So much inventory to look at. I luv kitchen shops. Anyways back to that quest for a garlic keeper. What in the heck is a garlic keeper? It's a container, with air flow, that extends the shelf life of garlic. The staff helped him locate it. They had it in stock on the shelf. It was $20. We are now proud owners of a Sur La Table garlic keeper. Cooking with fresher garlic now.

Fast forward to a few Saturdays later and had my knives in my bag properly wrapped and I was able to drop em off at Dave's booth. He let me know he had a few knives ahead of mine but to come back in an hour and he would have mine ready. After shopping at the market for an hour or so,I went back to grab my knives and they looked great.Dave went out of his way to explain what he did to the knives and telling me the reason they were dull in the first place, made me feel like a "mini" knife connoisseur after that informative conversation.Dave charges $3 an inch to sharpen knives,so not a bad value at all for such professional service. Once I got home I had to test these bad boys out and what a world of difference. Those knives were cutting thru everything with minimal effort-I was very pleased-Thank You Dave for your excellent service. In closing-if u ever find yourself in need of having a knife or 2 sharpened-don't hesitate to head down to Reliable Sharpening at MidTown Market and have Dave work on your knives-you won't regret it.

CB Crate & Barrel's design aesthetics are modern and organic looking with coastal inspired elements. It has a designer look without the high end price point. But not cheap though. The great thing is that they offer free design services. Yes, free. No pressure to purchase. The Roseville location is in a mall. The Galleria is pretty large. Parking is bit of a cluster at the end of the mall where CB is located. This is a busy mall year round. More of a madhouse during the holidays. I had to park in the back forty and hike it in and it was Spring time, no where near the holidays. The CB is two stories. Furniture mainly on the second floor and housewares, flatware, and small kitchen appliances on the first. They have an escalator and elevator in the shop. The last time I was here was a few months ago, oddly folks brought their dogs. Three different families brought their dogs in. At least two were not service dogs. How did I know? They were ill behaved and snarked and barked at anybody that walked near them including the other dogs.

The beginning of a new year, and it's definitely time for a refresh…read more I stopped into the Galleria in Roseville, undecided to pop into Crate&Barrel. I love the easy access into the store, which means I don't have to go cruising through the entire mall just to get to the store. Parking is also immediately right outside which makes it also super convenient. With my mentalist of what I was looking for as I bruised the different floors, I was looking for something specific and stopped a sales person to ask if I was going in the correct direction. She was incredibly disrespectful and very short with me. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know. It was entirely uncalled for when I asked for a product by name and said correctly, where she rudely corrected me with the wrong name and made some heinous noise, which caused another customer to turn around and look at her with distain. There's usually enough of a selection of a variety of items to be able to narrow down decision decision-making. They definitely were a little low on stock in some areas and I attribute that to post holiday shopping. I easily found the Breville toaster counter oven that I've been searching for, what I couldn't find, was someone to help me other than the little mean lady on the other side of the store. I absolutely did not want to deal with her. Sadly, I ended up leaving and will either shop online or at another store that carries the same items that I'm looking for.
