In June, we hired them again to upgrade our electrical panel and replace seven light fixtures. For both projects, the team was punctual, professional, and respectful of our home. They consistently cleaned up after themselves, listened to our needs, and took the time to understand how we use our home so they could make thoughtful recommendations rather than simply completing the requested work. One thing I especially appreciated was Lucas's positive attitude and approachable communication style. As a homeowner without an electrical background, I never felt talked down to or dismissed. He took the time to answer questions and explain things clearly. When we purchased our home, we also worked with another electrical company during the inspection process. While they seemed knowledgeable, the technician who came out felt rushed, was difficult to engage with, and was unwilling to discuss some of the concerns we had identified. He also was proactive about making sure I would qualify for the EV charger rebate through SMUD. When he got here, he instantly noticed there was an issue with our outdoor panel that needed emergency repairs. 4 hours later my main breaker was fixed and operating like normal, I had my EV charger outlet, and he charged me a more than fair price for even the emergency work. So long as Lucas is available, I don't think I'll ever call another electrician.

I have an off-grid home that relies heavily on a propane backup generator, plus an RV generator…read morethat was overdue for a full service. After researching options in the area, I chose CD & Power because they seemed like the most professional and reputable choice -- even though their quotes came in at more than double what competitors were charging. Given that this is something I only do once a year, I wanted it done right. Unfortunately, both generators started leaking oil after the service. The backup generator leaked so badly that it shut itself down while running -- a serious problem for an off-grid home that depends on it. The RV generator was leaking as well, and I hadn't even run it yet. To their credit, CD & Power did respond and sent someone out to address the issues. The same technician came back, tightened the oil filters, and cleaned up some of the oil. However, he left a significant oil stain on my epoxy floor -- something that would have been simple to clean up while he was there. It felt like a detail that a truly professional service would have taken care of without being asked. When you're paying a significant premium for a service, you expect the job to be done right the first time -- and when it isn't, you expect the follow-up to be thorough. I really expected more on both counts.

Saturday evening on October 25th, our lights started flickering and we lost power for about 15…read moreminutes. This Kept happening all night. My husband flipped our breakers and that didn't seem to help. Sunday morning, half our house lost power completely. I started calling electricians. Maverick replaced our breaker box a year in a half ago so we didn't think it was the box. I called Maverick Electric Sunday to see if someone could come out and find what the problem was. I was told the first available appointment was Tuesday morning. My husband called another electrician, and they said they would send someone out Monday morning as this was a SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN! I don't think we slept for two hours that weekend. Monday morning, I left for work and my husband met the electrician at our home. The guy looked around and checked our breaker box and found that a wire had been tightened too tight in our new breaker box and it snapped. My husband text me this, and I called Maverick right away and let them know what was going on. They said they could send someone out between 12pm-5pm that day. In the meantime, the electrician at our home took a video, then fixed the problem! He even spent time checking all our outlets as this arcing could have caused major damage to our system or worse, a fire! He didn't feel comfortable not repairing this safety issue. The fee was $250. I called Maverick back and let them know the problem was fixed. I looked at my Maverick invoice for the breaker box that was installed by them in late 2023 and it has a 10 year warranty. I asked to be reimbursed. After a cat and mouse game with Christina in their office (there was not one phone call returned to me) and emailing the video the electrician took, and our paid invoice, I was told they will not reimburse us as they did not authorize the work and they agreed to send someone out Monday (only after I called that morning and stated that the issue actually was). I am very concerned about the quality of work done and further issues with our electrical system. This is not the way to handle business and the fact is, another electrician fixed your mistake and you are unwilling to do the right thing even with a 10 year warranty! This was a safety issue that could not wait until Tuesday. Do the right thing!
