I really wanted to like this place. It's clean, organized, has a ton of options, and everyone seems friendly. The problem I have is my friend and I were shooting. Both of us in our 50's. One of the range hands looked to be 20 at best. Young enough to be our kid. Anyway, he kept asking about my gun case because I had a .40 sitting in it and not at the shooting area. I had explained to him I wanted to shoot it, but they didn't have .40 ammo. He didn't like that my case was open with the gun inside. He asked my friend to close my case which my friend did. I finished going through my two mags, went back to our area and noticed my case closed. My buddy said, "The kid was nervous it was opened and asked me to close it". No big deal, all good. Except, we were asked to leave by another range employee because he didn't like us referring to the other guy was "the kid". There was no harm intended. We weren't being derogatory, it was simply a description, the young man could have been our kid so my friend referred to him as ". The kid ". We were kicked out because of that. I took my daughter in to shoot she is new to shooting. Tom, I think he may be an owner, helped us. He couldn't have been nicer. He and the staff were extremely accommodating wanting to insure she was comfortable and was able to progress. She had a blast and can't wait to go again. One of the best ranges around and I drive from by DFW to shoot there. read more

Very well run clean easy to navigate setting/welcome area. We've been several times now and each experience has topped the previous one. A big shout out of thanks to John, one of the range officers. He was very patient with us and our friends and helped answer questions we all had. We had a great time and learned quite a lot And on Tuesdays when there are ladies discounts offered , well you can't beat the prices. Looking forward to another visit soon. read more

Great experience at this range. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. It's clean and very well organized.

Very cool gun range. I took my brother for our yearly birthday tradition. I don't react rate but it's by the hour and wasn't too bad. Tips - make note of exact time when your time starts because it's easy to lose track of time. Set timer on your phone for 50 minutes to give yourself a 10 minute window to get checked out. I heard a guy mention he gives shooting lessons as well. read more

Agree. The Range McKinney was a bad experience. They push you into their yearly memberships. Trying to schedule a simple LTC class or simulator time was impossible. Poor customer service. read more

Okay firstly I came in today to buy my gun that had arrived and the pick up went smoothly no issues at all. The staff there are respectful and are knowledgeable. They also helped me with aiming and helping me with my grip since I never shot a Glock before. Great clean range and good prices. So in all if you're looking for a good gun store and a range too, come to this place, this where it's at. 10/10 Stars if I could give them that. Will be back again. read more

Big shout out to Tom, Robert, and Addy. Was in town this weekend, and they provided an amazing, warm experience. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The facility is beautiful, and just a pleasure to behold. Ranges are modern, well-lit & -ventilated, and feature fantastic electronic target management tools for distance, and a bunch of other functions that I didn't take advantage of (blading the target to you, moving the targets forward & back, etc). I also got a chance to try out their simulator, which was like nothing I've experienced before anywhere else. Got my adrenaline going for sure! Highly recommend The Range to everyone! read more

So my last visit , their employee forgot to give me my license back. I was traveling this week, when I went to dfw I couldn't find my license . My ltc was not considered valid ID for TSA. This resulted in additional security checks and also prevented me from renting a car. So I had to Uber every where , costing me hundreds more for a trip and I payed 12 bucks to Texas because to order a new driver's license . I guessed where I left my license last , and guessed it was this range . They had my ID. They never called me , texted me , emailed me , or even mailed me my ID back. They had all my information to reach out and they had my ID for 20 days maybe more. They did nothing because that requires zero effort. When asked why they didn't reach out, they said it was an ex employee's fault. Even more reason to double check and call each person's back to see if the former employee reached out. When they opened the register, my id was not the only one waiting to be picked up. Hopefully they got a clue now and called the other people who didn't get their IDs back. This is not my first time at a gun range and I was also a range officer for a decade, I competed in local , state level, national and international shooting match's and I never left my license behind. I am sure this range will take zero responsibility of their incompetence and of course they feel it's the customer's job to double check everything, because this businesses won't take ownership of anything. I can't treat my customers like this looks like they can. They took responsibility for my ID. I gave them their money for services. You think they would complete their obligation and return my ID. They have yet to call me back. Won't be back . read more

Nice range, and have Tuesday half off ladies. I took my daughter and was impressed with the layout of the place. Customer service was good and everything was fine. I didn't use the restroom, but my daughter said they were the cleanest restrooms she's ever seen. read more

The facilities are always clean & the staff always helpful. Brought my wife here to teach her how to shoot & she loved it. We probably spent thirty minutes w/one of the instructors asking questions about models, holsters, CHL classes; at no point did it seem like we were bothering her and she was very knowledgeable. read more

I have been coming to this range often since it opened up, very pleased with a location so close to Princeton, TX. Range is always clean and great looking location, and the staff has been wonderful. The RSO Chris overheard my frustration with a rifle I had been working on, and asked if he could take a look at the problem and explains he's an armorer, and I handed it to him. No only did he inspect my work to make sure it was installed correctly, he found my issue immediately and with the help of some tools was able to fix it on the spot, saving me a trip to a gunsmith and just giving me such great above-and-beyond customer service. He was professional, funny, and the type of employee that makes customers keep coming back. I love this range, and would recommend it to anyone and it is definitely my go-to range for all of these reasons and more. read more

The Range in McKinney is one of the best gun ranges I've been to! The entire facility is very modern and clean, you can tell safety is a big priority and all the staff is very knowledgeable with any questions you may have. The shooting range itself is well kept, with a Range security officer watching over to make sure everyone is maintaining proper gun safety. They also clean away the spent brass so the floor isn't cluttered. The pricing is comparable to all the ranges in the McKinney/Allen/Plano area and they do offer military/first responder discounts. read more

We highly recommend The Range in McKinney! My husband and father had an absolute blast yesterday taking out zombies and can't stop talking about how much fun it was. My husband is in a wheelchair and the staff adjusted the heights of the targets for him as well as pushed him through the event. We were all very impressed with how helpful and understanding the staff was. We have been to several gun ranges in North Texas and this is by far our favorite. In the last several years there have been several new ranges easily accessible from Plano. I've tried them all - both the new ones and the old ones - and in my opinion The Range is my favorite. It's clean, the owner and employees are very helpful and friendly, and the shooting experience is great. Safety is obviously a top priority there, as there is always an experienced Range Officer watching all shooters, assisting new shooters and cleaning up all the shell casings. If you are window shopping for you first or next gun, some other ranges have more stock. But if you are looking to hone your shooting skills and enjoy the experience, The Range is the place. read more

I enjoy every visit to The Range in McKinney. The staff is friendly and helpful, the lobby is welcoming, and the lanes have the latest electronic gizmos to set up your target. The prices are reasonable--I don't cringe or wince when I checkout, like I have at other ranges.
