We started with the mussels and beet salad and loved both. The mussels were especially good. I had the Wellie for dinner and it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The cocktails were a highlight too -- really well done and definitely a step above what you get at most places. Overall, just a great night out. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and service. Definitely one of the better restaurants we've been to on the South Shore. We'll absolutely be back.

Our server was so friendly and so awesome. She never rushed us or made us feel like we were lingering too long. Firstly, the limoncello spritz was so good, they should make it a regular on their summer cocktail menu. Second, the onion dip is crack (note: it has a lot of dill in it, so if you're a dill hater like my husband, you may want to pass). Being on the early side, I wasn't terribly hungry, so I just ordered the Caesar salad as my meal. It was quite good, very fresh and not overdressed, as many are. I asked for extra boquerones and our server graciously appeased me. My husband ordered the pork chop which was truly great - cooked perfectly, very juicy and super flavorful. This was our first meal at Hooper's Judge, but not our last. We will definitely be back, even if it has to be at 5:30.

Yes, it is not an upscale place, yes, you need a 21+ ID to be served alcohol, and yes, its a towny sports bar, family style restaurant. The Pro's: 1. Cost- every meal is priced affordably. Also good portion size. 2. The service- very friendly. We go maybe once every other month, and by no means are regulars, but they always seem to remember us, and we always get really exceptional service. 3. The company. Just a group of local's, friendly atmosphere. It is not a BAR, CLUB, or fancy restaurant. Con's: 1. Food is so-so, but so is the menu. Its very much family style, which I think adds to the environment. 2. If you like super speedy service, its rather slow here- (not a con in my book- more like a very relaxed environment. Over all, I love the experience. This goes a long way in my book!!

She was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and made planning the event completely stress-free. Lillian went above and beyond by closing the restaurant early for us so that we could have the entire space to ourselves, which made the surprise party feel even more special. She was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was set up so we could simply enjoy the celebration with our guests. We truly couldn't have asked for an easier or better experience. Sandbar was the perfect place to host our event, and we are so grateful to Lillian for making everything so seamless. We will absolutely be back to host another event at Sandbar!

Thankfully, Yelp helped me locate this gluten-free pizza option and I devoured it. A super friendly lady picked up the phone to take our takeout order down. She expressed care when she heard about the gluten intolerance - giving me further confidence in my choice. It's the first pizza place I've come across where they don't up-charge for a cauliflower crust. The margarita was only $15 (I added olives) and was fresh, delicious, and satisfying. My husband got a bowl of their soup and though he enjoyed the taste and flavors, he felt the quantity was smaller than he was expecting.

We started with the house-baked bread sampler that was served with honey butter and a delicious "nest" of hummus and an appetizer of honey roasted carrots on a bed of farro. We then shared the Salmon Poke Bowl that was so fresh and flavorful and a spring pasta dish of lemon cream, fresh tomatoes, arugula with lots of cheese. There were so many items on the menu we'd like to try but their baker makes such incredible bread that we ordered another plate! Cheers to chef/owner Tina Conte and her team. Also, the view from the dining room looking out at the golf course is really pretty, even on a rainy day and the decor of the restaurant is comfortable and inviting for spending a slow lunch enjoying great food.

We were seated within a few minutes of arriving, which was nice. Our server was great - greeted us right away and went through the specials for the evening. We started with drinks - my cosmo was delicious (nice that it comes in the shaker and she poured it at the table), and bread. The corned bread was ok - it came with plenty of butter. On to the entrees - I had the chicken picatta, which was good, and came with a generous portion of linguini. My friend had the steak tips (on the specials menu) which came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. Trivia was a lot of fun - more old school style of writing answers and point wagers on paper for each round, and bringing it up to the quiz master. We will definitely be back for trivia, and dinner, again soon!

See my separate review of this wonderful musical performance. The Scarlet Oak Tavern is situated in an historic colonial house that has a fireplace and outdoor seating. The atmosphere here is always charming, wide plank wooden floors, cozy rooms, and plenty of them, and a charming bar. The servers are always polite and smiling. I have been here many times over the years with many different people, friends and family and it is fairly consistently wonderful. I don't recall having a bad meal here ever. There is a lovely room that has a fireplace when you first enter the establishment. It is especially nice in the winter when the fire is roaring and we have a toasty drink to make everything extra cozy. However, it is equally pleasant in May! My sister and I shared several appetizers, which together constituted a delicious meal for each of us. We ordered an appetizer called Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Ribs that came with four very meaty flavorful ribs. We ordered two separate sides of the delicious mashed potatoes that they serve at this establishment. We also ordered one very large crab cake appetizer we ate the crabcake first. We then placed the ribs on top of the mashed potatoes with a couple of the delicious pickles that were served with the ribs. It was absolutely scrumptious. See the photo! For dessert, I ordered a flourless Flourless Chocolate Cake with crumbled peanut brittle served with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious with almost a rich pudding consistency inside it contrasted amazingly well with a flavorful crunchy topping of peanut brittle and a smooth cold refreshing mound of ice cream. In a word this dessert was as maddeningly delicious as it sounds. Highly recommend!

We were first served a basket of complimentary warm cornbread with butter. Delicious! We each had a glass of red wine with our brie & carmelized onion burger. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium, as requested. Unfortunately, the service wasn't quite as good as the food. We requested side salads in lieu of fries & were not told there would be a $5 upcharge (each!). We also asked for our dressing to be on the side; it wasn't. Luckily, the salad wasn't heavily dressed so it was edible. The craisons & fried shallots were a nice touch. I had an Affogato for dessert & it was brought out with a candle & a "happy birthday" chocolate disc. My friend was charged twice on her credit card for this meal. We were told the extraneous charge had been removed at the restaurant, but it wasn't. My friend had to resolve it with her credit card company the next day. Atmosphere & food - 5 stars. Service - 3 stars.

They were kind, attentive, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Service was easily the highlight of the experience and a definite 5 out of 5. The restaurant itself is small inside with a much larger outdoor seating area. We chose to sit outside, but don't expect waterfront views because you actually can't see the bay from the patio. I started with a virgin piña colada, and it was delicious. Definitely one of the best things I had. For food, I ordered the lobster sliders. Unfortunately, they were pretty lackluster. They were served with cold lobster on mini Hawaiian style rolls with shredded lettuce and no sauce to tie everything together. Honestly, I would have much preferred a traditional lobster roll. I also tried the crab cakes. They had decent flavor, but if you're used to steakhouse style lump crab cakes packed with crab meat and served with an amazing aioli, these will probably disappoint. There was noticeably more filler and breadcrumbs than crab, which wasn't what I was hoping for. My sister ordered mozzarella sticks and a burger and fries, and she enjoyed her meal. Overall, I'd call Chantey at Marina a solid mid tier restaurant. The service was exceptional, but the food just didn't live up to the location or my expectations. I actually ended up here because Bay Pointe was closed, and unfortunately, this didn't become a new favorite. Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Will I return? Probably not.
