    Onion rings were good

Solid 2 stars. Burgers are their specialty, but they are not that good, sorry. The onion rings are good. Fries were bad, how is that possible? Service was very good but it took an hour to get 4 burgers. This place was busy on a cold February Saturday because of all the ice fishers and people out snowmobiling, on their atvs on the frozen lake. Seems like a local place if you want an old bar type atmosphere. I just can't recommend it.

What a super cool spot! Now that I'm on summer break, I have so much more time to get out and enjoy the beauty of Michigan. We jumped in the car and headed out towards the lake. There are so many small bars and restaurants surrounding the water. You can literally do a bar hop around Lake St. Clair. The Raft was on our itinerary and it was everything we expected. Nautical themed, this bar is dated on the inside but it adds character to the place, makes it perfectly charming. We were not in the mood for food so we ordered a few beers and headed outside to enjoy the weather and play a game of cornhole. The backyard of this place is HUGE!!! I'm sure it's a fun spot for music and hanging out with friends on a busy night. Let's just say, I smoked my friend in a game of cornhole and we almost gave ourselves heat stroke. It was so dang hot, but we had a blast. We will most certainly be making a trip back out this way.

    Ok, that's cool.

Do go there. Been driving past for over 30 years and decided to stop. It is a burger joint but that can't seem to cook a burger in less than an hour. To be honest, I don't know how long it takes as we gave up after an hour and they hadn't started making them yet. The said they were busy but watching others come in, sit and get there food while waiting for mine is just not good. Also, watch your step, the floor is very uneven.

Been coming to this place for years. Such a landmark restaurant. They offer indoor and Outdoor seating behind the building directly on the lake. Highly recommend the combo sample platter for an appetizer. And the raft burger with bacon. You will not be disappointed!!

Off The Hook Sports Grill - 1/2 pound perch Dinner with redskin potato

I got the perch dinner 1/2 pound and it was large enough to bring home half as leftovers. I had the choice of soup, salad or coleslaw. I got the salad which was probably a mistake. The salad was lettuce, some of which was brown, with a couple cherry tomatoes and a few slices of onions. I asked if they had balsamic vinaigrette dressing and the waitress brought me vinegar for dressing. Oh well. Then I had the choice of fries, mashed or redskin potatoes. I got the redskin and they were pretty good. My friend got the black and blue burger which comes with potato chips but he upgraded to fries. He really enjoyed his burger. If I was in the mood for perch again I would go and eat there again.

For a small place, there's a good selection of drinks. But, we were hungry, and we definitely came to the right place. I ordered the Fair Haven Po Boy, which was billed as a beef brisket, but seems a lot more like a roast beef sandwich. Fortunately, it was good, and there was a lot of of it. The onion rings were robustly battered, and cooked properly so there was a nice crunch to every bite. There were only two servers at that time, but they were able to keep up with everybody, and the food came out quickly. Definitely worth a return visit if I'm in the area.

Yes, it's a no-frills bar, but it was so much fun to pull the boat up and grab lunch, and the energy inside is lively and more of a party atmosphere. The food was above average for bar food. I was quickly disappointed the second I walked through the wooden screen door. My family and I walked in and we were told their would be a 15 minute wait. I couldn't understand why. The place was dead and their was at least 10 waitresses standing around texting on their iPhones. When we were finally seated it took out waitress over 20 minutes to get drink orders and introduce herself. She then told us they were out of about 10 common menu items (fries, rings, chicken, etc) My family and I ordered cheese sticks as an Appetizer. Very tasteless. Then again they were out of ranch to dip them in! I ordered a fish sandwich as my meal. I assumed that since the restaurant was on the water that the fish would be fresh. The bun was way too large and hard for the tiny over fried piece of fish. I would have been more satisfied getting a fish filet sandwich from McDonalds. I wouldn't suggest this for a family get together, especially with younger children. I felt like I got an STD just walking into the bathroom with all the half naked men and women around.

That's how I'd describe Catch 22. This does not look like a cutting edge restaurant. It looks like the kind of restaurant your parents ate at in the 80s (and the kind I ate at in the 80s). That's not totally fair, because it does have a nautical charm that represents the community. But, of course, the food is what matters most. It starts right away with freshly baked bread (how many places since the 80s do that anymore?). It was served with a sweet butter, but they have no problem providing a regular butter. We were told the mushroom soup was good, but the waitress undersold it. It was rich and savory and flavorful, the kind of soup that makes you wish you were at home so you could lick the bowl. My wife was territorial about sharing her salmon, with good reason. This is a fishing community that prides itself on the quality of its seafood. I loved the flawless preparation of the sliver of salmon she reluctantly shared with me. I didn't mind because the ahi tuna was magical. I offered her some, but she was happy with her salmon. Her loss. I ordered it medium rare; I enjoy my tuna steak the way I enjoy my beef steak. And, this was a beautiful cut of tuna. It was encrusted in peppercorns and sesame seeds, giving it a little bite. Take that, Gordon Ramsay! I got it with a side of perfectly lumpy mashed potatoes, with robust dark gravy on the side. Combined with the tuna, it was a lot of food, but there was never any doubt I was going to eat every bit of it. I ordered a local brew, Anchor Bay Noble Mutt red ale. Not as malty as a typical red, which I enjoyed. It didn't interfere with the meal. The service was also very quick, and cheerfully rendered by our server. It's not cheap, but there's no way something that good should ever be cheap. We're already trying to figure out the next time we can come back here.
