I went from attending class 2-3 days a week to 5 days a week. The instructors are amazingly motivating, as are the other clients. It's a real family feel when you enter the studio. I have now taken over 1000 classes, and recommend the class to everyone.

I love that you can also pay for one class, especially if you're a beginner or have a chaotic schedule and cannot commit to paying for a set # of classes. The ladies at the front were super friendly and our instructor was not only helpful, but helped modify my friend's class who is 8 months pregnant. I left feeling very refreshed, but it wasn't until I was back in New York did I truly see how great of an experience I had. I opened my mailbox to find a hand written letter from the the Youngstown team. They remembered I was there for a baby shower and wished me safe travels home. My mom started taking me to barre and yoga with Jackie, and I am seriously a new person. Actually, I'm about 20 pounds less of a person. My mom describes barre as "ballet on steroids," and that is a very good thing, my friends! Not to toot my own horn too much, but (comparatively, anyway), I look hot. I'm no spring chicken, but some 20-year-old guy whistled at me the other day. That's how good Jackie is at her job. I have a lot of old sports injuries and my ankles are utterly destroyed. I've had to cut back on running big time and there's not a lot I can do without limping for the next week or so. This has been bumming me out for years, but barre and yoga are both low impact enough that I can go 4 times a week without feeling any extra pain. Don't get me wrong though, these classes are HARD. Like, thigh-shaking, gasping for breath, I can't walk the next day difficult. Still, they're amazing! I feel so strong and good about myself, and Twisted is a really friendly and nice place to work out. I love it, and you should check it out asap!

The equipment is a little old, but if anything breaks just inform the staff and they'll get it fixed ASAP. They say that if there's anything they can do to make your workout better they'll do it, and they mean it. I even asked for a standing floor bag (gym was equipped with a hanging one) for my martial arts exercises and they got one! There are plenty of weights and a few weight and cardio machines, along with an open floor room that's available as long as a class isn't running. Staff cleans regularly, prices are reasonable, and it's open 24 hours with a key tag.

Most people are on the beach but but that many though. It seems cleaner than many beaches. The sand doesn't have a lot of cigarette butts and litter. It's kept clean pretty good. The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.

Love this beach so much we got married on it!

Water is murky, but it makes sense because it's a lake. About four benches were taken from other people/families because a family refused to rent the pavilion. Had many water cases from Sam's Club (about 3 cases), a couple of different pop varieties from Sam's Club (4 cases of 12 packs), and a bunch of snacks? Same person left flags in the sand, Jordan. Not sure why, guy was by himself.

I live near this park and have been using it for over 60 years. Here is some updated information:…read moreSwimming is no longer allowed. (for humans) Dogs can swim on Thursdays only. There is no charge to get in. The paved road around the lake has been split into a one-way driving/biking road and a with an adjacent walking lane. There is a Hike/bike trail called The Freedom Trail that borders this park. Metro Parks Summit County is going to add a connector trail between them in 2026. The Freedom Trail in this area is a rail trail, so it is pretty flat. There is an area called Tallmadge Meadows that to me is a separate park, because the two areas have very different prior ownership and history, but Metro Parks considers them to be the same park. The parking for Tallmadge Meadows is right around the corner from South River Rd. on South Main St. (Rt 91). There is also a trailhead in Munroe Falls for the Summit County Bike and Hike Trail. It is about a ¼ mile North of South River Rd and runs along the Cuyahoga River. I used to be a Firefighter/EMT in Munroe Falls and it was not unusual for us to get called out to the "Metro Park" and have to ask, "which one"? All 3 of these are great parks and I consider myself luck to live in between them.

Registration is a bit of a process. You first have to create a profile through the Lorain County Metro Parks system, then return to the Splash Zone site to register for a specific program on a designated day and time. Once registered, the system shows your cost--mine initially showed $0. I arrived about 30 minutes early on the morning of my class, which turned out to be helpful because I had to re-register in person. After completing that, I was told there would normally be a $3 fee due to my SilverSneakers account. However, the woman at the front desk kindly let me attend for free that day, explaining that future visits would be $3. Since I'd never been there before, I had to navigate through several locker and pool areas. There are multiple pools separated by glass dividers with automatic doors--someone shared a helpful tip that the small black box above the door shows which side to stand on to trigger it. The instructor came in without much of an introduction, set up a small carry-on-size speaker, put on her headset, and began the class. The workout was aqua Tabata (a Japanese-style interval workout): 20 seconds of fast-paced movement followed by 10 seconds of rest. The class lasted 45 minutes. I stayed for about 30 minutes, choosing to leave early since shower space is limited and I like to be considerate of others. The workout itself was excellent, and being in the water felt really good. The showers, however, were not great--hair on the floor and a general "public park" feel, even at 10:30 a.m. I was glad I wore water shoes. On the plus side, the water temperature and the very hot shower afterward were appreciated. The instructor mentioned that this is her business and encouraged people to connect on Facebook (with a profile photo), and it's clear she's very talented. Overall, despite a few logistical and cleanliness issues, I'd go back again--and next time, I'd happily pay the $3 when I'm in town.

Outdoor pool My kids…read moreloved it! I have been to splashzone for years and this was my first time utilizing the outdoor pool. It costs $8 per person no matter the age. We had three young children with us. You enter through the main pool area and walk to your right out a set of doors. There is a large pool area that is sectioned off for different uses. There is a gradual entry area with a water playground for kids, this is connected to the main part of the pool that gets about 5 feet deep. There are 2 slides that you have to be 48 inches to ride. The lifeguards have a break for 15 minutes after 45 minutes of swimming. All kids have to get out of the water. While waiting there are lots of lounge chairs, a snack shack offer ice cream, hot dogs, pretzels, etc. along with a playground and swing area for the kids. There are also two indoor areas you can take the kids to play with the frog pool for younger kids and the indoor water playground.
