The owners were very difficult and blamed everyone but themselves, all while holding onto a large amount of my money that they refused to give back. This was the worst 5 months. Be very careful purchasing from this shop.

Then there was silence. For over two 1/2 months! I finally called to ask them what the status was and they put me on hold and eventually had to call me back because they couldn't find record of my serger. they called me back and said it was STILL being worked on. I waited another month and called again. I left numerous voicemails. None that were answered. When I finally got ahold of someone, they told me they didn't know how to check their voicemails and again they struggled to locate my serger. They finally called me to tell me it was ready but accidentally told me that it could be picked up in Lockport, when in fact, it was in Elma. Lastly, they told me that the entire MOTOR was replaced and not just a bolt. I had to pay for that. I should have just bought a new serger at that point. I dropped off the serger in late Sept, and finally got in back at the end of January! That's 4 months!!!!! They didn't even so much as apologize or acknowledge this terrible service, which I found terribly inconsiderate and rude.

It is a general store in every sense of that concept--they generally have a little bit of everything. Absolutely no food or beverages, not even gum or a soda case. But you'll find a bit of everything else, including ... ** Lots of fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies; bolts of fabric are cut-to-size for whatever length you need ** Cards, stationary, and a small assortment of books (mostly religious) ** Decorative glassware and knick-knacks ** General kitchen items (cookware, utensils, canning supplies) ** Grill and picnic supplies ** A few small electrics, like fans and light strings ** Small clothing section with mostly knits, sweats, and Amish hats ** Candles and candle holders ** Many natural soaps, lotions, and supplements ** Cleaning supplies and household paper products ** Garden and outdoor supplies, and some tools ** Toys and games ** Office supplies ... but definitely not limited to just that, you'll surely find more. Prices are very fair. I needed a couple basic plastic mixing bowls, and grabbed them here for $1.10 a piece. I also got some fly catcher strips for 5/$1, and a fork/whisk hybrid called a Fiskie for about three bucks. I'm eyeing a nice Chinese Checkers metal tin set, that was about $11. Next time, it will be mine! Attached to this same building is Lake Breeze Bicycle, a small bicycle shop in the basement of the general store, with its own separate entrance out back. I'll write a review for that portion of the business separately, but as a sneak-peek, it's a handy, well-priced store too. During COVID times, all other customers were masked and doing our best to stay distanced in the small store. The Amish women I've seen working at the register and fabric cutting area have been masked, too. It appreciate, even way out here in the sticks, folks still doing their part to help end this pandemic. If you find yourself in this part of Orleans county, and either want to browse for nothing in particular, or look for something in particular, chances are you may find it here at J C Miller General Store. And it will likely be a good deal!

The staff had all my needs anticipated and if I needed anything else, they were right there. The accomadations were 5*. Each bed had a hand made quilt! What a treat! They supplied breakfast and lunch and we all went out to dinner with a 10% coupon provided by NIAH. Jeff unloaded our personal luggage and then took the car and unloaded our sewing gear on the upper level of the building. The building in itself was amazing, It was converted from an old barn and polished and shined beautifully. The staff was wonderful as well as Judy and Jeff the owners. There is also a fabric store with yummy fabrics most of which were $5-$9 with some for $12 and patterns galore! I can't wait til my next visit! Helen Dunlap

They're unbelievably sturdy; we bought our mugs around 10 years ago and I've dropped them on the hardwood floor and in the sink several times without a single scratch or chip. I always swore that I was going to complete my collection some day when I had the money, but I don't think they offer our particular glaze pattern anymore. Their pottery makes a great one-of-a-kind gift or housewarming present if you can't decide what to get someone.
