If anything went wrong, I was not aware of it and neither was my husband. When we first toured this venue last summer we fell in LOVE with Field & Pond. The venue is beautiful, access to lodging in the house on the property is awesome! We got to have the venue Friday-Sunday which was great, because other venues only allot you a 3 hour limit and you're basically kicked out. I felt like we truly got to enjoy our time having this for the entire weekend. I can't say how many times people kept asking us how we found such an amazing venue out in the country "in the middle of nowhere" haha. I like that it was more secluded because it felt more intimate. They provide security, a shuttle, and then the linens package helps a lot because it's less stuff you have to get. We hired our own DJ, photographer, cake, catering, and were able to stock the bar ourselves, and Field & Pond took care of the rest (you'll be surprised at how many details you'll forget about despite planning so much). The only thing I was actually concerned about is that the venue is all outdoors and the weather can be so unpredictable. Well the weather ended up being perfect, which isn't in their control anyway, but I just can't believe how lucky we got! There is a big, gorgeous barn as well, where the bar was located, as well as the dance floor. Plenty of space all over, and it was difficult for our photographer to narrow down which locations to get pictures in because it's all so spacious! I also thought it was cool that they have multiple locations to choose from to have the ceremony. Morgan was hired through them as the wedding coordinator and went above and beyond for us. If you are looking for an outdoor wedding, LOOK NO FURTHER! You won't find anything better or more beautiful than Field & Pond. Even the day of the wedding their owners were there gardening and making sure everything looked absolutely perfect - which it did. I cannot rave enough about this place!

The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

Mother's Day brunch: The menu was very small, ran out of multiple items, and, again, it was very…read moresmall; service was all over the place. They comped the meal, and we didn't ask for it; we only wanted to split the check, which was a policy that was never discussed, but their system could do it. So they decided to comp the check, given the many issues. Then the manager calls me after we leave, leaves a message, and says, very passively aggressive, "We comped your meal, but you did not leave the server a tip." Servers live off tips. But don't worry, we took care of her tip. Have a good day." Umm, excuse me? I was a server for over 7 years. First of all, I wouldn't expect a tip after the establishment that failed me by not ensuring they had adequate kitchen supplies to keep a Mother's Day up and running. Additionally, I would have added more staff to the day, which would of course be very busy. And lastly, how are we tipped when you comped the bill and walked away, and nobody had cash? We did not ask for the bill to be comped. So for future reference, dear John I don't recommend calling your customers and bullying them over voicemail. You're the problem, not us.

There are a lot of gorgeous decorations inside and out to make the space feel beautiful and rustic without feeling cheap or sterile. We didn't need to bring in (and pay for) many of our own decorations because the venue spoke for itself. The venue was very reasonably priced, especially considering the individual time and care that is put into each wedding. There were no hidden fees (ie. cake cutting fees) and the venue worked with us. In addition, the food was amazing! The chicken cordon blue and stuffed mushrooms were both huge hits as main dishes. Additionally, we had several vegan and gluten free people at our wedding, and we were able to design a menu that was delicious and accommodated everyone (and we walked home with a ton of leftovers). I highly recommend the roasted potato and cold pasta salad side dishes! For anyone in the area, I would highly recommend this venue for the personal care, the delicious food, beautiful venue/decor, and price!

The breakfast is amazing with local eggs and toast and much more served in their elegant southwestern style dining room and porches. I stayed in the Rustridge Room, with its semi-private entrance. I found it enchanting and spacious, with an unusual barn door...the top half opened right up to a small grassy knoll and ancient tree, extending a mighty bough, worthy of a Cheshire cat. There is a sense of timelessness here, a respect for time, for animals, and the land itself---many of the vines are mature, even 30-years old if I remember my private wine tasting correctly. Yes, that is the other element here: aromatic hand-crafted wines made in small batches by Susan and Jim. To sip fine vintages in their tasting room, with its windows overlooking sweeping vineyards, the grapes ripening before one's eyes, is an unparalleled experience. I left with a couple reds. Loves the eccentric wine maker; aside from his growing duties he is also a horse jockey. So yes, the tasting room is located in a ranch filled with horses. The horse jockey wine maker signed our bottles and posed for my picture like nobody's business.

Located just Northeast of Napa and along the shores of the very ample Lake Berryessa this is a great spot to get away for a quick weekend. They have campgrounds that can accomodate everything from a small group of 2, groups as large as 20, spots for RV camping, and even little cabins that can be rented out if you don't want to deal with pitching a tent. Even if your group is small I would suggest trying to snag the large 20 person camp sites, as they are located right on the water. If possible request site 182 as you will also have a section of beach all to yourself! Be sure to bring your boat or wave runner because you will definitely want to get out on the water for some fun. Things to note: the hot showers are not so hot, I think I won't be seeing my penis again until spring; there are roving bands of racoons that will raid your camp site at night so be sure to bring ice chests or locking plastic tubs to store your food items away at night, and last but not least, beware of drunk yelpers.

In 1856, brothers Charles and Francis (Frank) Ebner built both the Ebner's Hotel and the building next door , the "Empire House". The Ebner's Hotel was a 36 room Hotel renowned for its luxurious accommodations and stylish design. Travelers seeing the cupola on top of the hotel knew they were close to their destination. Charles Ebner managed both the hotel and the saloon in the basement. John Sutter was good friends of the Ebner brothers and was known to be a frequent customer to the saloon. Due to the expansion of the railroad and prohibition, both buildings eventually fell into despair to the point of no return. In 2010 a group of investors rebuilt the exterior of the buildings to resemble the original Buildings. People may not realize that the two buildings may look like separate buildings, but in fact is only one now. The mixed space now include retail and office space. Sacramento's History 101.

THE SETUP Always wonderful to be school by local historian Kenneth K. on the proud landscape we have in Sacramento when it comes to our city's heritage, which includes many many historic structures in Old Sacramento. Ebner's Hotel is one such artifice that I like to imagine was filled with floors of saloons and brothels for the tired gold miner and covered wagon immigrants to stop, take their boots off, put their feet up and just take a hot bath! But that may be where Fanny Ann's is located, and not here. [I'll have to look that up just to be sure!] ;) CHRISTMAS & CO. What I DO know is that one of my favorite Old Sacramento stores (and anywhere really) CHRISTMAS & CO. has found a residence here as a commercial tenant (since the 2010 refurbishment that Ebner's Hotel underwent). There are so many fun items and things to find here in the hotel now. And note: HALLOWEEN is in FULL GEAR now! You'd think here in Sacramento that Halloween has become the Christmas of Autumn - well it has! = Probably due in part to our local Pagan cultural influences (afterall, we have full-on Psychics headquartered here in Old Sac as well!). = Probably due in part to the influences of Tim Burton, Disney and all the fun wrapped around "Nightmare Before Christmas!" = Probably due in part to Shannon McCabe's Vampire Ball history in Old Sacramento, and the ongoing Zombie Balls at Knobs & Knockers, etc. etc. Whatever the case, Old Sacramento in general, and more specifically through these hotel structures and the colorful stores they house, have contributed to the Culture of the Occult in Old Sacramento.
