This is the largest hotel in Winters. CA. It is an historical place and they have truly done a wonderful job renovating it and keeping it significantly beautiful. We had to stay here for a conference. This CA town has a population of 7500 people. Everyone knows each other and there are 4-6 big families known here from the town's origination. We were greeted upon arrival at the hotel registration desk. The registration is two large sit down desks with the hotel agents offering a glass of wine at check in. There is 1 restaurant attached to the hotel, and it is only open for most business from 4-9 Mon-Sun. They offer a coffee shop with pastries counter service Mon-Wed 7:30a-11:30a. It's a bit inconvenient because if you work earlier than 7:30, you must walk a block to another place or drive 10 mins to Starbucks. The hotel is beautiful, very minimalistic, rustic modern, and the design is geared towards Wine Vineyard/Tuscan/Farm like decor. There is a common area in the lobby, an outside large patio with a shallow fountain pool. The inside offers a two sides fireplace with seating on both sides. A small corner next to the 2 elevators has 3 tablets that are fixed in place for guests, this seems to be a business corner in the open space. There is also conference space. Our room was nice but when we arrived, the toilet paper stand was on top of the toilet seat. This was very odd at 8:30p since they had several hours to quality check our room before we checked in late at night. The good news is that I had no itchiness after staying here. There was a clean bed, bathroom, desk, and carpet. For our 3 night stay, it was a good experience. read more

We were able to check in before the standard time and was offered a glass of wine. The room we chose was spacious, the bathroom was clean, and we were happy enough. Lovely and chic hotel! I stayed here over the weekend of the Tractor Parade and had a lovely time! When we got to the lobby, we were greeted by the pleasant scent of the spa and a complementary glass of wine. The lobby was gorgeous. There was a nice fire going with plenty of seating, even some mounted down tablets where kids can play games. Outside, there is a ton of patio seating as well. There are fire pits, cozy chairs, and a pool (that seems to be more of a puddle). This hotel is unique in that it promotes socialization. I noticed that there is an abundance of seating not just in the lobby, but on the room floors as well. With the wine and fire pits, it makes for the perfect evening to chat with the other guests. The rooms are also super nice! They were spacious and very clean. The shower was huge with two high-powered shower heads. The shampoo and conditioners bottles were high quality and smelled very nice too. We paid a $75 pet fee and the room, to my pleasant surprise, came furnished with a dog bed and pet food bowl. This hotel is very dog friendly! I would say though that the lighting in the room was very minimal. There was no overhead lighting; just a few lamps that directed light down. Such a charming hotel. Perfect for a valentine's day celebration. They give you wine upon arrival and the hotel is beautifully decorated with multiple places to lounge. One of the most beautiful and charming hotels I've ever stayed in. From the moment you see the building, you're impressed--but walking inside is where it truly wins you over. The lobby is stunning, with a modern design, soft earth tones, high ceilings, and gorgeous lighting. It's filled with stylish furniture, lush plants, fresh flowers, and striking modern art on every wall. The entire property is spotless, with wide, carpeted hallways, elegant light fixtures, and thoughtfully curated artwork throughout. Then you get to the room--and it's anything but standard. We stayed in a king room with soaring ceilings, beautiful, clean furnishings, and a spacious bathroom featuring an incredible large shower. Everything about the stay felt elevated, comfortable, well-designed and super clean. The bed was extremely cozy, and the overall atmosphere made it hard to leave. Lovely hotel right in the center of old Winters. It has an Italian restaurants downstairs; Carboni's which had a coffee counter in the morning, and sits within a block of multiple great dining options: Preserve, Putah Creek Cafe, Ficelle, Turkovich Wine, Eddy's coffee. You could easily make a romantic weekend out of a visit here. Add in some Hot air ballooning and a massage and you're covered. We chose this hotel because of its walking proximity from Preserve where my daughter's rehearsal dinner was being held. The entire wedding party stayed here and it made a great base of operations for the weekend. Rates can vary widely based on dates. We stayed on a weekend at the end of May. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The AC was struggling to keep up at night when I was hoping to get it below 72. 75 was the best it could do. There are some nice sitting spaces in the lobby and a pretty courtyard with a water feature. We were given wine at check in, that always gives me a sense that all is right in the world. I would definitely stay here again to enjoy Winters. It reminded me a lot of Calistoga/Napa Valley in the 90's. read more

My husband and I celebrated our wedding weekend here in May, and a few weeks later we returned for dinner. We were lucky enough to have Leslie as our server, and she was amazing. We only stayed one night but to me, this hotel is beautiful! The rooms are super spacious!! We had one king bed and brought an inflatable queen size mattress for our kids & we still had plenty of space to move around. I have never been in a room with so much space! This hotel is perfect for a weekend getaway. Plenty of restaurants around & tasting rooms. I would definitely love to come back! Staff was also super nice. This was the worst place to stay for my wedding. It's extremely expensive, so get ready to pay $400+ for a room. I got married at Park Winters down the street and had to book a pet-friendly room here at Hotel Winters, which came with an $85 pet fee. That seemed a little strange since it was supposed to be a pet-friendly room, but okay -- no problem. Later that evening, while we were still at our wedding, our dog was brought back to the room. He was howling a little bit, so we received a noise complaint. Along with that complaint came another $136 fee to compensate the guest who complained. As soon as the hotel called me about the complaint, we went back to grab our dog and fix the situation. I think it's really unfortunate that they handled things this way, especially since we returned to resolve the issue as soon as we were notified. The hotel is nice, but it's not that nice for them to treat their guests this way. Other than that, I enjoyed my wedding day -- but it's very disappointing to see my room bill, which was originally $300+, go up to over $500 due to extra fees. A nice hotel, beautiful but prepare to be disappointed and hear a lot of "I'm sorry, no" responses. My family and I stayed there for a wedding and I loved how the hotel looks but I was let down by almost every aspect of it. Let's start with the rooms. They are clean and very spacious with very tall vaulted ceilings. The rooms are almost bare with how big they are. Bathrooms are clean and well appointed. I had to sign a "No Party" waiver lol. Food. The wedding was catered by their internal kitchen. Many people were forced into the chicken (which was a little dry) because "They didn't prepare enough steak". I asked one of the employees if there was more coming out, "I'm sorry, no". We found an outdoor bar and that was pretty cool. It had a nice view of the Winters area. The drinks were a little pricey but that's to be expected. A bunch of the wedding party loved it out there but they ended up closing the bar 30 minutes early. We asked if they could keep it open until closing time..."I'm sorry, no". Ok, well there was a bar downstairs so we all went down and hung out there. Same story as the restaurant/bar was closing up 30 minutes early. I asked the bartender if we could hang out until the advertised closing time of 9 PM..."I'm sorry, no". (You can see a trend). At this point I was getting kind of annoyed. I asked the bartender if we can just buy a bunch of canned drinks and luckily she would allow it but you can tell that she was crazy about it as multiple people had to ask REALLY nicely. So after that several of us went outside (it was a nice afternoon) to the pool area and sat in the chairs by the pool. At 9 or so they turned off the lights and the fountain on us. That was the Hotel saying "I'm sorry, no" haha. There was also this one person at the front office that had the worst RBF on earth. This guy completely came off like this was the last place he wanted to be and helping a customer was not his jam. In closing I probably won't be back. However I have to give our wedding bartender props. She was friendly and handled her business like a pro. read more

Our company recently hosted a second event at Hotel Winters, and once again, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff here is truly in a league of their own - some of the most incredibly kind and generous humans who are always willing to help in any way possible to make sure our event is a success. They are an absolute joy to work with and truly go above and beyond to accommodate every need, big and small, with genuine care. The venue itself is beautiful and the support we received for our conference space was outstanding. Every detail was thoughtfully attended to. The food was absolutely wonderful - we got so many compliments from our attendees. The attention and care given to the participants with food allergies was so carefully tended to as well, which was especially appreciated. I can't recommend Hotel Winters highly enough - whether you are just coming to relax and enjoy this charming town or if you are looking to host an event - it's sure to be an extraordinary experience. Arrived 2pm, the hotel is modern and In regard to service, I was the one who actually greeted the person at the desk to check in. No, wine offering but I did notice water w/ lemon in the lobby. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Free parking in very well lit locations. Bring snacks and a water bottle that you can refill. Starbucks is 8 min drive away. Had a housekeeping issue which Capri, the manager, handled to our satisfaction. read more

We had my daughter's wedding last weekend at Hotel Winters. The whole event was exceptional. The staff and venue were absolutely amazing. Emma, the sales/catering manager, was a complete joy to work with. Every detail that we discussed was delivered. Her production plan was executed perfectly by her staff. Our bartender, Isaac, was wonderful. Carboni's provided the food and it was delicious. We did an organized breakfast the next day and our guests were still talking about the food, the lovely hotel rooms and the great experience provided by the hotel/staff. I would highly recommend using Hotel Winters for your next gathering or definitely for a wedding/anniversary party. Karla, rooms manager, was also a joy to work with. She had all of our rooms ready and check in was a breeze. It was very nice to just focus on my daughter and her special day and not worry about the details not being taken care of. I cannot express enough how seemless the events of the day were. I would give Emma 10 stars if that was a rating. Thank you, Hotel Winters, for delivering the best day possible for my daughter, her new husband, and our family. I stayed here for a work trip a few weeks ago. It's a decent hotel overall. There's a small parking lot next to the hotel that's free and there's also a restaurant/bar connected to the main lobby. The hotel looks nice and renovated the only things I didn't really like was that the A/C was blasting icy cold air and it wouldn't turn off. There was also an annoying beeping/buzzing sound coming from the A/C unit so it kept me up all night. The room needs a floor lamp with a softer light, the only light in the room were the nightstand lamps that were like interrogation bright lights. Other than that, the hotel was nice. read more

Let me guest say, if you're in the hospitality business, you should be hospitable. When I checked in for the $50 incidental, my card kept declining. Then there was confusion over payment and we checked out without paying. Female clerk called us while we were down the street eating breakfast and said card came up as invalid. We finished shortly after the call and walked down to pay. That card was "invalid" as well. We tried to pay by cash and the clerk said they didn't take cash. We weren't going to give a FOURTH card to get locked and they wouldn't take cash. She got very defensive from the moment someone called her from the back. She said, "you're making me feel like I did something wrong." I told her that it might not have been her necessarily, but definitely something wrong with their system. The clerk tossed the money back at us and said, "just take your money and we will call it good." So, basically saying get the hell out. We weren't trying to get one over on them and insisted on paying. Clerk took the money to the bar to get change and came back without a receipt. I'm hoping the money wasn't pocketed since she'd offered to comp our room but we didn't think about it until we left. We spent our wedding night there and had to listen to the air conditioner roar, purr like a tiger and then it made a noise like a faucet was on. read more

I've worked in the construction industry for years, I'm now retired. But over many years, I worked on numerous hotels. Mostly mid to upper end stuff. So I was fascinated watching the construction of the Hotel Winters. It took them a very long time. But after it opened, never had the opportunity to see it. So, on our recent Anniversary, my wife & I decided on a little close to home mini vacation. Booked a room, a very nice King Suite, and planned to make a night of it. This hotel is special! It is as nice as anything I have had the experience of working on. The design is spectacular, but not over the top. Everything is just right! Quality is exceptional, and the way this was built into the corner lot was a creative genius! Inside, we were greeted at the front desk, which is understated and warm. Joshua, the receptionist was wonderful. Our room on the third floor was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. Everything just right. A large & spacious bathroom, with clawfoot tub & shower. The bed & bedding were also perfect! It was just a wonderful experience. BTW, we had dinner at Carboni's, the attached restaurant downstairs, and it was an exceptional experience as well. The hotel has a spa, restaurant, coffee bar, banquet area, outside seating area with a beautiful water feature nestled in the small, cute town of Winters. The staff were all amazing. Never again. Stayed in this absolutely beautiful historic hotel, one night for a wedding. Was at first a little disappointed to see an "amenity fee" of $20 on my bill, but OK, I went with it. Later, reviewing my credit card statement, I was charged twice - once for $391, and again for $441. I call the hotel, get reservations, and when I explain a double bill, they hang up on me. Rude, but it's likely a 3rd party reservation service. Calling the front desk, on hold twice, she reviews my charges and explains the $441 is a "hold" that should come off in 5-7 days. If it were a debit card, it could take up to 3 weeks. I stay in hotels 15-20 nights a year, and never has any hotel taken so long to rectify a hold. It's obscene to me that they can't treat their customers better. I can stay in a thousand hotels that don't do this, and next time I'll make sure that I do. Not at Hotel Winters. read more

We have stayed here multiple times and every single time there is some type of big issue with our rooms. The staff do not appear to be trained in any kind of hospitality and instead cause problems for guests. If you do stay here, be prepared for beds that resemble concrete slabs and unfriendly staff that go out of their way to ruin your stay. We will never be back. read more

Many of the guests for our daughter's wedding made reservations at this hotel. The service is terrible and again overpriced if they were a 6 star hotel. They only have street parking , no bell boy service, food and snacks overpriced. I paid over $800 for 2 nights. These people are taking advantage with their prices since not too many hotels are in the nearby area. I do not recommend anyone staying or eating at this place. read more

I stayed at Hotel Winters in order to attend an event nearby. I did not expect much but was I surprised! I had one of the best experiences at this hotel that I have had in a long time. This is a local hotel in a quaint town that has created a great experience for its travelers from its wonderful staff to the ambiance of the hotel. Its high ceilings, décor, and spacious rooms were lovely. I never took advantage of the spa or rooftop so I can't speak to those but their restaurant Carboni's was good for dinner. Capri, one of the employees at the front desk, was fantastic and made sure we had what we needed and that we were enjoying our stay. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional, and very nice! Desk clerk barely looked at us. No one said, "Welcome". I am elderly and no asked if I needed help with my luggage. The rooms were clean but barren. One desk chair and one side chair. Just a QR code for the hotel restaurant. There was a spa connected to the hotel but no information about it in the room or anywhere. It seemed as if none of the hotel employees had any hospitality training. The staff was not friendly. We checked out a day early and the desk clerk did not inquire as to why or whether we enjoyed our stay. The building was clean but the bed was made without mitered corners so when you opened it the whole thing came apart. It's in a great location and the town is sweet and friendly but it was a little depressing to be at the hotel. read more
