First time at Tanaka Farms pumpkin patch and we really enjoyed ourselves. Entry ticket prices were…read morea little high ($27 for an adult ticket) but they do offer discount rates for active duty military personnel or veterans which is awesome! Parking was another added cost which brought our total to about $53 for entry admission. The corn maze has a lot of "photo op" areas with beautiful lights and I was really glad the wagon ride was included in the admission and wasn't a paid attraction. The farm was beautiful and it was nice to enjoy the ride and see all the lights and Halloween decor. I also came on a Sunday around 6:30 and it was surprisingly not as busy as I expected it to be. For the adult crowd, they also did have a small bar with beer and wine! Pumpkins ranged averaged around $2 a pound and we picked out a small pumpkin that cost us around $15, which wasn't too bad for a souvenir. Overall, Tanaka Farms was one of the nicer pumpkins patches we've been to and I would totally recommend it to others.

It's right off of Carson Street across the street from the Town Center more so across from Sam's Club. It is hidden and it's a perfect hidden gem for little ones. It seems that you are able to have picnics and parties here of course with reservations ahead of time. The animals and the petting zoo were so sweet and the staff was very friendly. The highlight of the trip was the pony rides.

Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. Highly recommend!

There is an entrance fee, and a parking fee for the pumpkin patch. They sell individual activity tickets, but you can also buy a pack of 12. Each activity inside costs 1-2 tickets, though some are free (like the corn maze and the tractor ride). We spent about 2 hours there. The kids enjoyed the pumpkin blaster (it's loud!), the cow train, corn maze (which has a bunch of dinosaurs to find), tractor ride, and feeding the animals. There's also a pretty large sandbox area that's shaded - they liked that a lot. Plenty of places for photo ops. The flower fields are pretty! There's also food - we tried some matcha, which was alright. They have some basics as well like hamburgers and hotdogs, and there was a drink stand. There's also birria nachos, which we didn't get to try this time, but I'd like to next time! There's also a shop that sells house decor, stickers, honey, kettle corn, toys, and more. Overall, I'm a fan!

The flower fields are very photogenic -- a nice outing with the kids. We lucked out with the weather today -- cloudy and comfortable, perfect for walking around. Heads up: there isn't much shade here, so on a sunny day definitely bring sun protection and a hat. Overall a nice visit, the kids had a great time.

Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival *October 9th, 2026…read more*5:30pm- Friday *3.5 Stars Environment: *Moderate Sized Parking Lot *Outside Seating *Information Station *Events: Pumpkin Patch Corn Maze, Rubber Duck Races, Petting/Feeding Zoo, Hay Rides, Music/DJ *Access to Farm Store Food/Drinks: *Food Trucks Available *Snack Vendors Available Went to the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival for Alumni Opening Day with my sister, who graduated from here, and my mom. Overall, it was a good experience with lots of activities to enjoy, plenty of staff around, and information booths where you could learn more about the different services and events. There was also a good variety of food trucks and snack vendors, and I liked having access to the farm store. However, I do think there are a few areas that could be improved. Getting into the event was somewhat confusing, with three separate lines for alumni/family, families of current students, and scholarship attendees. The lines weren't clearly distinguished, and there were only two tablets being used for all three lines, making it difficult to tell where we were supposed to go. Once we got inside, we were given wristbands and tickets, but no one explained what the tickets were for or how to use them. Although there were plenty of activities advertised, not everything was open during our visit. The event layout also felt a little crowded, especially around the information booths, which were close together and made it difficult to explore with so many people around. Having a map showing where all the activities were located would have been helpful. For example, the corn maze and hay rides were tucked away in a corner without clear signage, and we only found them because our group happened to wander in that direction. I'm glad we did, though, because I really enjoyed the corn maze, and the staff in that area were very friendly! Parking was another area that could use improvement. Luckily, visitors with handicap placards were able to park across the street in paved spots for easier access. For everyone else, cars were parked on a field adjacent to the event with uneven ground and holes, making it difficult to walk, especially for older visitors or anyone with an unsteady gait. There also weren't clearly marked parking spaces or lanes, so figuring out how to leave was confusing. With only one entrance and exit, traffic could become difficult when leaving. While there were plenty of staff members throughout the event, it would have been nice to have some stationed at popular photo spots to help take pictures, such as by the pumpkin patch hill sign or Cal Poly Pumpkin sign as you enter. Lastly, the farm store was open, but many items were already out of stock less than an hour into the event. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and appreciated the variety of activities available. With clearer check-in lines, better communication about the wristbands and tickets, improved signage and parking organization, and better stocking of the farm store, I think the festival could be even more enjoyable for visitors. I appreciate Cal Poly Pomona continuing to put on this event year after year, especially since it's closer to home compared to other pumpkin and fall festivals that can take 2-3 hours to get to. Despite a few areas for improvement, it's a fun local event with lots of potential, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to attend!
