On 1/10/26, I visited Hobby Lobby at 10000 Coors Bypass NW, Albuquerque, NM and had a very…read moredisappointing customer service experience. I asked three different employees for help locating magnets and was repeatedly given vague directions across the store without anyone verifying the location or offering to assist further. Despite following the instructions, I was unable to find the item. One employee did not make eye contact and provided directions without looking at me, while another appeared irritated when I asked for help and again when I requested she show me the location. At checkout, I shared my experience with the cashier and was informed that one of the employees involved was the store manager, Patrick, which was especially disappointing. This experience has left me no longer a fan of Hobby Lobby. Customer service matters. Please do better.

Especially this young lady that was helping us find a tree topper when she/we rudely interrupted by some lady looking for "the toilet" her words. There was no "excuse me, for interrupting, she just made her demands and left. You often wonder what kind of people do reviews sometimes, which is why I don't really trust them. I really recommend this store because I've been coming here for 4 years and always great service but especially tonight! All the young people working were really patient and helpful!!

In some places I know crocheters aren't always treated right in indie yarn stores, but it wasn't an issue here at all. In fact the big project kit featured in the window (a mood blanket, which I got!) had both knit and crochet patterns. There's also a crochet class offered, but as I'm just here for the week I won't be able to speak to that. I do know that it's right around the corner from a Little Anita's, so if you want to make a day of grabbing lunch and yarn it's easy.

It was my…read morefirst time in the city, so I went ahead and just did a quick Google search and made a list; thankfully, Nana's Yarn Stash was on there. The store is small and a little hard to find if you're not familiar with the area, but don't let that fool you -- this is one of the best yarn stores in Albuquerque. Their selection is incredible, and their staff is warm, welcoming and kind. I got lucky and swung by when they were doing a trunk show with local New Mexico yarn dyers, and I got a skein of gorgeous Dye Monkey Yarns, on top of some other yarn I grabbed for a granny square purse. I sincerely wish I had stopped by again before leaving just to hang out and crochet in store; the atmosphere was that good. Next time I'm in Albuquerque, it's going to be very hard to keep me from just hanging out here the whole time and buying a ton of yarn!

There were only 3 children signed up for the "Kids Clay workshop", so there was plenty of opportunity for the teacher to provide one-on-one attention to them. There was not much direction or instruction from the teacher on how to prepare the clay or proper painting technique to use on clay. She did demonstrate how to attach items to clay by scraping. For this age, we felt there should have been more instruction on designing of the objects and directions on how to paint the clay, so when fired, the color would be more vibrant. The color of the completed pieces was very washed out, almost if they had been just painted with water color. The teacher said the project would be ready in 7 to 10 days and that we would receive a text when the pieces were ready to pick up. It took 21 days and we were never notified for pick-up. We had to personally check 3 times to see if project had been completed and was ready to pick up. Very disappointed in the service after paying over $80 for the class.
