A beer garden with its own bar and also an upmarket bistro. That has amazing food at ridiculously good prices! I love how this place does drinks - there's four taps of rotating craft beer/cider, and once they're out they tap a new flavour. They ran out of 2 beers while we were there, and a new keg was quickly tapped each time. They have cardboard signs serving as labels - an easy way to keep the signage current - and at $8-9/pint, its a great way to try different beers without damaging your wallet. For wine they only offer 1 red and 1 white each night, and those change daily. The cocktails are made with care, with a good selection of classics (martini, Manhattan) and some fruity modern conceptions as well. Food was quite good, despite some of the portions being small. The cheesesteak for $16 could easily be consumed in a few bites. The pulled pork for $16 was delicious, served between two toasted pieces of delicious bread (not the "hoagie" I was expecting, but some of the best pulled pork I've had in Australia), and a better serve than the cheesesteak. The sliders were, again, on the small side. At $4/each or 4 for $15, you'd need 4 to make a meal. I found the chicken sliders a bit bland, possibly being overpowered by the potatoes in the garlic mash. The beef sliders were much better, with a delicious pickle relish. Of course, I had to grab the wings (6 for $9 or 12 for $16) which were one of the standouts for the night. A bit sweet at first, they pack a bit of a punch with a heat that builds. The three chip options (chilli cheese fries, sweet potato wedges, and steak fries with chipotle mayo) were all pretty good. Rumour (or rather, Facebook) has it that this place does $0.50 wings and $5 hot dogs on Wednesdays - definitely worth checking out. Come early if you want a table - we managed to grab one of the last of them at 6 pm on a Saturday, and didn't see much turnover during our 3 hour stay.

By public transport, it certainly isn't the easiest one to get to, though it is located in one of Sydney's southern riverfront suburbs. From the outside it looks like just your local run-of-the-mill pub. Upstairs was a very different story. Forget drinks in the city where you end up meeting and greeting your entire facebook list, bring a couple hundred of your closest friends and family to this place. The place is so big it can easily hold that many. There's a separate room at the back to keep all your family's embarrassing antics hidden away, a lounging area with a main bar (with access to the pokies room), and a huge dance floor area with room for all your hired DJ equipment. It's all newly renovated and in perfect condition for you and your friends to make as much noise as you want into the early hours of the morning.

I did as much research online as I could about the cocktails that were made here and whether or not I'd be able to have them (allergies and dietary restrictions). Initially I went in thinking that I'd only be able to order 2 types of drinks (a margarita and a mojito) since they were both rum-based, which at the moment is the only type of spirit I can consume without having to deal with angry red splotches on my face and arms (vodka and whiskey just don't agree with my skin I suppose). But the bartender asked me what types of alcohols I preferred, so that he could make me something that I could have without worrying about substituting ingredients from certain menu items. He was able to make me 2 Sailor Jerry rums over ice and I can't quite remember what the other ingredients were, but I'm pretty sure there was cinnamon, lemon/lime juice, and something else which tasted amazing!!! I then proceeded to try the mojito, which was SO beautifully prepared, and tasted just as great as it looked. Something about lime (and mint) in drinks makes my tastebuds extra happy. And I'm not one to usually like drinks with any sort of fizz in them, but this mojito was just, I've found myself saying it a lot in this review, beautiful. And lastly the margarita. I almost felt sad drinking out of the glass because the presentation seemed so intricate and aesthetically pleasing! Again, outstanding craftmanship by the bartender. The sips I took of the drink coupled with the salted rim of the glass were an adventure. I finished the entire drink in 15 minutes (while saving a sip for my partner to try) but at no point in that time was I able to figure out what that intriguing and delicious taste combination reminded me of. It tasted so familiar yet so new to me. Fantastic. Out of all four drinks I had, I can't say that any one of them is better than the other, but the Sailor Jerry mix definitely made it's way into one of my favorite drinks I've ever had in my life, no joke. I was a bit too tipsy to properly look for the bartender who made these drinks for me, but if I could've found him I'd like to thank and compliment him on his craftmanship!

Granted, it was the middle of the afternoon, so I wouldn't have expected the messy drunks to turn up in any case. The bartenders were really friendly and accommodating, flashing smiles all around, which always makes customers feel better. Their cider, by the way, is the most delicious thing I've tasted in a while. It tastes almost like really strong sparkling apple juice, and is no less intoxicating for its deliciousness, not to worry. They have two well-maintained pool tables, the cues are unbroken and unblemished (which is a rarity in pubs, I've noticed), and they don't have any balls missing! Another rarity. The premises is really clean and well-kept, as well as being air-conditioned (though not too cold.. too cold defeats the purpose a bit, doesn't it) to perfection. I like it, I would go here again for a drink if I'm in the area.
