We purchased an existing house 4 years ago which had a dual-fuel HVAC system. I contacted the…read morecompany I used for many years at our old house which I was very happy with but, they didn't seem to understand the system. I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.

An electrician from another…read morecompany was onsite at the same time to learn about the work that needed to be done and also provide a quote. It was a coincidence they arrived near the same time during the arrival windows, and not a problem at all, they said it happens all the time. For context, this is about $1,000 to $2,500 job, not a $150 job, but not an enormous $50k job either. I introduced the 2 electricians, they were friendly and professional to each other and to me, we had nice initial 5 minute introduction conversation. Dan asked very few questions and he didn't write anything down, it felt more like Dan was there for show than to learn about the project and create an honest, accurate quote. Dan left after about 10 minutes. The other electrician took notes, asked great questions over an additional 15-20 minutes to ensure he truly understood everything involved and needed, he gave thoughtful feedback and provided a professional, comprehensive quote. Dan Levinsky literally left and was never heard from again. He provided no feedback, no quote and no follow up. Nothing. Dan proved that exactly what was experienced in the first experience with him, was indeed accurate, there was no misunderstanding, he showed his true colors. Dan showed poor communication, zero follow up, he can't be trusted or counted on to do what he says, his advertising is not true, and there's no way I would hire his company. I would absolutely not recommend Dan Levinsky and Sons Electrical.

Office manager claimed she couldn't write a check and owner would call me back. I coontinued to call & either speak to someone live OR leave a message on their machine OR leave a message with their answering service. No one EVER returned my calls. I wrote them a very detailed letter explaining my reason for a full refund. Nothing. I continued to call almost three times a week. It's been OVER A YEAR and no replies. Although they've been late from time to time (days late), they've always come and performed the service required on our units. The last scheduled maintenance in May was a no-call, no-show to which I tried to call them daily to reschedule, but went into voice mail every time. I took a drive to their location only to find that they're building is abandoned, and no sign, or messaging to the customer that they were closing, nor any recommendations for another company. If they are indeed out of business, shame on you for not meeting your commitments. If you've moved, shame on you for not letting your customers know. What once was good is no longer good. I highly recommend seeking service elsewhere.

He ended up cutting my water line to my pump and the electrical wiring to my well pump. It resulted in my having to hire a plumber and the well company to repair the resulting damage. To his credit Mr. Williams did repair the water line. However, he refused to take responsibility for the resulting damage ( mud in our water lines and our well pump not working) and the cost we incurred. We requested our deposit back minus the trench he dug. Also compensation for the cost of us having to hire a plumber and the well company to fix the mess he had made. Mr. Williams responded by sending us a bill charging us for the parts and labor for repairing the water line he cut. Also, he attempted to use the excuse he did not know we had a well. However, we live in a remote area of Suffolk. It is common knowledge that this area does not have city water or sewage. Buyer beware. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY OF YOUR ELECTRICAL NEEDS!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! If I could give him a zero star I would.
