The only way to get to Macy's was to exit the mall entirely, walk across the street, and enter through a separate building. Between the parking chaos and the confusing layout, the whole place feels poorly designed and genuinely unnavigable.

The first and second floors do not stand out and had a lot of local businesses, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't fit this malls reputation. H&M and Round1 are the standouts here. The third and fourth floors have a classic shopping mall look. The food court on the third floor has many good options including Chick-fil-A. The fourth floor is largely vacant with only a handful of stores, but nice views of the mall's architecture. The Macy's and Nordstrom are the anchors of these floors, if you need them. Towson Town Center is disappointing, with a weak selection of stores compared to Arundel Mills and The Mall in Columbia. Depending on your needs, Towson might not be a worthwhile stop.

The space inside, to some extent, reminded me of the newer Essex Street Market in NYC. Both offer downstairs and upstairs sections with a plethora of food choices. As it was early, many of the more famous options, such as Faidley's, weren't open. I wish there were more grocery options here, as the only one we saw was tiny, but perhaps we didn't explore enough. I eventually got some snacks from Berger's Bakery, which I'll also review on their main page. They're mostly known for their namesake cookies, but since I'm not the biggest fan of either black-and-white cookies or chocolate frosting, I went with some Apple Fritters. The fritters were 3 for $5, which was a nice deal. They were large, not overly sweet, soft, had a light cinnamon flavor, and had plenty of apple filling. In short, they were very tasty and made a good snack throughout the short trip. Another person liked their cake donuts, and I concur, based on the piece of the blueberry cake donut I tried. I would recommend either and would go back and try other food options next time.

I do miss the old Cross Street Market before the complete renovation in 2018, which seemed to cater to the average local, however, the current, more modern market certainly is a gem in Federal Hill despite the more expensive food prices. I like the selection of cuisines featured. The diversity covers bar food, dinner food, quick bites, and dessert. And of course there are plenty vendors serving crab dishes. Some of the great vendors have come and gone, like the pretzel dog vendor which for a long time was the only reason I would visit Cross Street Market. I appreciate the seating made available in the areas near each food vendor. The space is utilized efficiently, from the storage of food in the freezers near the dining tables, to the small stages where artists perform. The market is a great pre-game destination and option to watch the game if you skip the stadium altogether. Keep in mind, on NFL game day this place gets packed, so arrive early. There is ample street parking in the vicinity, however, on game days finding parking in this neighborhood is a nightmare. Overall, a must visit when in the area.

Savage Mill is one of those adorable places that's worth a visit just to explore the buildings…read more There are several smaller parking lots, and if those are full, the big lot on the back of the mill is accurately named. It's big and the walk down is easy. Savage Mill is a former mill that's been converted and has various small businesses, restaurants, hands on activities, offices, a large booth style antique store, and various other options. There's even a fencing club. The interior of Savage Mill is lovely with the shops portion being two floors and it has a modern wood grain look. As you get further into the mill buildings, they have more offices and it can get confusing due to the number of floors and hallways with nothing but doors. The booth style antique store named Antique Center at Historic Savage Mill was a pleasant surprise in the basement. It has a good mix of high- and low-end booths with things from comic books to vintage plates. Is Savage Mill with coming out of your way to visit? Absolutely. This was one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises during my visit to the area, and I'd recommend it to others. Just make sure to budget enough time for a visit.

The antique mall is the perfect all-day adventure. Coffee shops, sweet treats, dive bars, winery, fencing studios, outdoor adventure park, cosmetic enhancement suites, $5 thrift shops, salon suites, tattoo shops, a huge antique shop and more make this mall a delicacy. There's something for everyone and you can truly spend the entire day here. Some of my favorite shops include More Than Java, Skinsational Scents and Boyd Cru Wines. The mall hosts events often. There was some construction happening to some of the tree wells. Well passing by saw this huge nail near the workers truck and advised could they get it so it didn't end up in someone's tire. When I came out of Target, a worker began to say something but I think he said it in Spanish in a nasty way. And walking through the pediatrician crosswalk in death defying. No one knows how to cross without being hit or how long does a person have to wait for someone coming a store to cross the crosswalk.
