Are you kidding me? We went down town tonight to have a nice family dinner. We noticed that a band was setting up in the middle of main st. So we decided to grab an outdoor table at the Pound. Big mistake. We sat down and asked for waters while we looked over the drink menus. The server came back 10 minutes later asking if we were ready to order without our waters. We ordered drinks assuming she would bring waters with them, not so. We asked for them again and ordered an app. When the app came we asked again for our waters and ordered food. Waters finally came. Food came out and they didn't bring my dau f hters food, she didn't ring it up and couldn't remember what she ordered, ok, I asked for another beer. Daughters food comes out 10 minutes later, she asked if we need anything else, I ask for my beer again she says sure. 35 minutes.. 35 MINUTES goes by without her even coming back from the table. We watched her stand around inside and drink her Redhill, looking at her phone and talking to co workers. We were frustrated and her two other tables were frustrated. We had to ask abother server to grab ours for us. She never apologized, never asked us how she could fix it. Just said have a good night. $70 later, we wont be coming back. read more

Very disappointed. Food was very sub standard at best. Medium well burger like were hockey pucks. Chicken wings were barely room temperature. Waitress was very busy, like all restaurants they were short staffed. We were a party of 7 and asked for 2 checks. Waitress added on a 18% tip. Was told they can do that since check was split and over $100.00. Only thing on their menus is for parties over 8. Also added on 3% for using credit/debit card. Won't go back. read more

My wife and I got there around 1:30 for a late lunch. We sat just across the bar at a two person hightop, it was seat yourself. Waited 10+ minutes and a was never approached by ANY one of the several servers moving around the establishment. We got up and left. Piss Poor Service, will never return. read more

Can tell place is new staff young and tattoo up people at bar just on phones or doing take out groups are sparse...did not go upstairs... for food when dropped off for no salt pepper so asked one waitress standing by table where all the condiments were at since my bar staff walked off ... response from server was what you don't have legs??? Which yes funny but when just had bar staff drop off food and just walk way kinda takes you off... my meal not much to write about bar food .. maybe it is cause I mentioned I have not been in town for awhile but wow will def not suggest anyone of my fam who I am visiting to go there ...but they have a dj and some serious security so must get busy later for the college crowd? The atmosphere is kind of cool with the roof and the open air seating downstairs , the food is incredibly overrated. I've had freezer pizza better than theirs and they struggle to ever cook a burger properly. I've had other food here too, by far the most mediocre food in town and the atmosphere can not cover it. They clearly have a big management problem and their current rating speaks to that completely. Not bad to stop in for a beer, don't waste your money on the food or mixed drinks. read more

Food was ok but they were operating at almost 100% capacity instead of mandated 50%. The wait staff was masked but other employees were in and out of the kitchen without masks. The manager stood at the end of the bar without a mask. When we asked to see a manager, he vanished, and it took him a good 3-4 minutes to find a mask, which was not covering his nose when he came to the table. When I went to the rest room, 3 employees were standing by the kitchen with their masks off their faces. The manager did not seem concerned in the slightest. In fact, he walked away and is now standing at the bar chatting with another person not wearing a mask. It bothers me that guests are waking around without masks but I take exception to the staff, especially in the kitchen, not wearing masks. read more

We love to support local businesses especially now since Covid. We decided to go to The Pound. Went last night and the sevice was terrible, the food was horrendous. We ordered Fried pickles, they fried whole pickle spears, and they were burnt. We also ordered pizza, chicken wrap and fries. First the waitress decided to give our order to another table, once the lady picked up the wrap she realized it wasn't hers, the waitress then brought the order to us after others had touched our food. We never received utencils, plates and the music was so loud that we couldnt even talk at 4PM. It appeared to be ran by high school kids and no management. We will never return again and its ashame, we live locally and it was a favorite. read more

I wish I could have given this place a higher rating, but there are a couple of major issues that will prevent me from going back or recommending this to anyone else: 1) The drinks are diluted. Very diluted and of questionable origin. They are charging top shelf prices for cheap, inferior liquor. They then dilute this liquor as much as possible. The mixed drinks were, in short, an absolute rip-off. 2) Whoever is hiring their staff is clearly thinking with little brain, rather than big, business brain. The staff are almost entirely young, attractive, anorexic females with serious attitude problems. When we walked in, not one of the five hostesses actually greeted us - they stared at us and waited for us to speak. Then when we went up to the roof, the hostess (very dirty blonde hair and a sour expression) glared at us and our child like he was the devil and then literally threw the menus at us. And considering how many of these girls some incompetent manager hired, the service is appalling. It took 20 minutes to get our first order of drinks in. 3) Bathrooms are disgusting and you have to walk past the line of employed, but bored girls gossiping and talking about boys outside the bathroom. In short, I am extremely, disappointed and we felt so uncomfortable and felt so taken advantage of by the inferior, over-priced products that I will not be likely to return anytime soon. I will walk around the corner to Stout or Bagger Dave's where both the service and the product are top notch. read more

Good food? Compared to what? This place could use Jon Taffer's help via an episode of Bar Rescue. Ate here during a weeknight recently and about the best I can say is the guacamole and chips were good. The margaritas were watered down (I had two, both watered down); the food was medicore and that's being charitable. My French dip was awful. The meat was way overdone and as a result, tasteless. Cardboard would have tasted better. The au jus (and I am serious here) tasted like the chef had spilled a salt shaker into the juice it was that salty. The sandwich was too big to actually fold over and dip, so I have no idea how you are supposed to actually dip the sandwich into the au jus. I guess the chef and manager have never actually tried. My wife's strawberry salad was good, except the waitress said it came with chicken when in fact, the chicken pieces were pieces of cheese. The cucumbers were obviously on ice since they were dried out and not moist. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. Before you think I'm being too picky, bars CAN have good food. They just have to try a bit. But there's really no excuse for lousy drinks when you're a bar. To their credit when I mentioned the salty au jus we did get a coupon for $5 off but to be honest this was our first and last time here. The Pound really is for the dogs. read more

First , all negative reviews on the food are spot on. It all comes from a food service company and tastes generic. The service is okay, with staff focused on "moving you along" once your food finally gets there (which takes a long time). I like the rooftop deck as it is a great feature in Brighton but, because their food is so bad, they have a hard time filling the rest of the restaurant and turned to Groupon to increase food sales. If you get a Groupon, don't plan to enjoy it on the great rooftop deck as it is not allowed to be used on the deck. Went here the other night for dinner with the fam. We wanted to sit outside so we got a table on the roof. They had live music which was great, however, the only open table was RIGHT in front of the band so it was super loud. Luckily they didn't play too long and we got to actually have some conversation with our dinner. So service wise this place really only gets three stars. The waitresses weren't super helpful. Apparently the bar/beer/cocktail menus are different on the roof than in the restaurant (no idea why), and everything my husband wanted to order he couldn't get so that was a little frustrating. Food wise it was all great! We got a little bit of everything, burgers, wings, chicken wraps...they were all delicious and GREAT fries. Not the healthiest food ever, but definitely our go-to place when we're in the mood for a good burger! read more

I am a big fan of The Pound. I have been in here a couple of times, usually just for a beer and maybe a quick app. Last night went in to watch the Michigan Basketball game and must say had a very enjoyable experience. First off the draft beer is very fresh and very cold! The sound was on for the game which was a nice bonus as most places today don't want to turn off the Internet Jukebox as they are getting a cut of the take. Had a burger which I must say was one of the best around. As soon as it was put in front of me, I could smell how good it was. I love a good burger. This place is awful. Lived in Brighton for over 15 years and have never been to a restaurant as bad as this. I understand it's a sports bar and catered to the younger crowd (I'm late 20's) but this place was a joke. First off we had an pretentious waiter that thought his shat didn't stink. Wasn't not pleasant to talk with. Second, the food was terrible. Everything tasted like it was out of a can/box. Whomever said the burger buns tasted homemade was obviously trashed. The burger buns couldn't have been more bland. My burger was served in a puddle of its own juice... Leaving my entire bottom half of the bun not editable. We ordered a Mac and cheese to try, if you like velveeta you'll love this... That's what it is. Overall the atmosphere is reminiscent of a college town bar and the patrons are a perfect match. Service is sloppy and food is overpriced garbage. There are several alternative bars and restaurants that have been established in Brighton for many years. I suggest you give it a whirl for yourself once to get the experience, but buyer beware. read more

I've been here on a few occasions for drinks and once for food. I can honestly say, I love this place! The atmosphere is fun and fresh and the rooftop patio (which also has a bar - score!) offers a fabulous view of downtown Brighton. Prices are similar to any place - $8-$18 for entrees, and the menu is super diverse and offers pretty much any sports bar food you can think of. My girlfriends and I ordered the Michigan salad, nachos, the spinach, feta and tomato pizza and a French Dip sandwich and all were tasty. Honestly, I had low expectations about the food since you typically go to a place like this just for drinks, but it was seriously good and we all agreed. It doesn't seem to be too busy during the week, but expect a bit of a wait on weekend nights. Still, I've never had to wait long and it was worth the wait. Friendly staff and rockin' atmosphere for us young professional types. Can't beat that! {P.S. If you're not from the area, the name 'The Pound' is because Brighton's mascot is a bulldog. Terrible food. Drinks are diluted. I've heard from at least three friends to never get bottle beer there because it's always, ALWAYS very old beer. Not sure if they buy old beer from other places at a discount or they don't manage the books and stock properly. This is my first time here, and I have to say I am less than impressed. The service here was among the worst I've ever experienced anywhere, and the food was mediocre at best. It took about a half an hour to be able to place an order for food after our drinks were brought out, and that was only after having to wave the waitstaff down. My friend and I just tried eating here. We were directed to the rooftop seating, being told that there will be a waiter there to serve us. We sat down and waited for our menus, silverware, and someone to take our drink orders. No one came. Eventually after 10 minutes of waiting I went up to the bar to ask for a menu and let the staff know where we were sitting. After 20 minutes no one came and I had to go up again and finally received a menu. After 30 mins of being there we had not once been asked our drink order nor had any assistance whatsoever. Nice enough decor, clean, plenty of TVs, some drink and food specials. Went on a weekday night, looked like mostly young professionals and a few people out for dinner, but not really a scene or a vibe, and relatively empty besides those seated at the bar. Ordered nachos, which the place and reviews seemed to recommend: was not impressed. The grande was bigger than I expected, but congealed quickly and lacked distinction. Friends ordered burgers and seemed alright with them. Apparently Pound has a 3lb challenge, with a 2lb burger and 1lb of fries to be completed in 30 minutes without anything to drink. Our server told us only 4 people had completed the challenge and were featured on a plaque, but even completing the challenge doesn't give the meal to you for free from the $30 price. The best thing I tried was the fried pickles, but they also weren't anything special beyond standard bar fare. Finally, we were asked fairly rudely to leave about 10 minutes after we paid so the staff could go home; certainly not an unreasonable request, but showed immaturity on behalf of the staff (that said, our server was lovely), who were huddled near our table gossiping. read more

Pros: Decent draft beer menu and casual atmosphere. Good place to catch a game Cons: Food was so-so at best. Tried the special appetizer of "loaded brussel sprouts and they were undercooked and not very loaded since all they had on them was bacon. The burgers were ok. I would recommend going for the 1/2lb or full lb as the 1/4lb came out overcooked and dry even though it was ordered medium rare. Overall, the location is good but I wouldn't go for the eats. The Pound is just plain dirty. We stop in from time to time to sit on the upstairs patio, but would NEVER eat there. The bathrooms are always disgusting, the service bar area is dirty, and many of the employees are often standing around using their phones instead of tidying up their work areas. I was completely grossed out by the trash can upstairs that looks like it's never been wiped down and the wall behind it had food splattered all over it. And to top it off, you can get happy hour prices downstairs, but not upstairs. You can walk down and get it yourself though if you want. How dumb. read more

The location is great but the food I had wasn't so great. This would be a great place to drink on the rooftop but I wouldn't recommend the food. We were looking for a fun dinner place with beer and also found great pizza! The BBQ chicken pizza was out of this world--lots of bacon, chicken for a nice meaty texture and flavor, then the BBQ sauce added a surprising perfect compliment to the rest! (A tad less BBQ sauce would be even better) The service was friendly and reasonably fast. It was a warm summer evening at it was nice to sit by the big open windows and enjoy the breeze. I'm not giving it 5 star because the service was a bit spotty and the beer wasn't quite right--maybe top or bottom of the keg...? But I'd definitely go again and recommend it. read more

Had two pints of Two Hearted Ale, which cost $10. Here's the "but"/gripe. Looked at the bill and the wife was charged $2.79 for a glass of ginger ale!!! If I could give less than a one star I would. Service is awful and food isn't anything special. All the servers and "bouncers" are self absorbed, rude and more focused on flirting with each other than doing their job. The bouncers are extremely rude and ive witnessed them throw people out for legitimately no reason. They come across as wannabes that over exert their "power" in an effort to prove something to themselves. Been there on several occasions and never had good service. Have to request a server every time after being sat and waiting 15 + minutes. My boyfriend is black and has been singled out on more than one occasion for absolutely no reason and questioned by the bouncers. During one visit he was limping because he had just ruptured his Achilles, and the bouncer followed us to our table and tried to kick him out saying he was drunk and couldn't walk....it was lunchtime and we had our toddler with us! The bouncer realized he was truly injured and barely even apologized. No follow up from the manager or anything. This place is horrible and definitely not worth your time or money. There are several other restaurants close by that are worth your business. Would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Incredibly disappointed in the fact this establishment, clearly was not following Covid19 safety protocols this past Saturday, March 15. Given the rising rates of positive tests in our local school district, we chose to be safe and reserved an igloo located on the roof top only to find we had to navigate through a very large and unmasked crowd of non socially distanced patrons including the gentleman host/bouncer at the front door. We have consistently supported our local restaurants during this pandemic; however, given the fact they have not taken the Covid protocol seriously and may have very well initiated a "spreader event", our family will NOT be supporting this restaurant in the future. read more

Not sure what to make of this place. Stopped in last night...a Thursday night. It happens to be "Ladies Night." I know I'm beyond the years of a dance club, pushing my mid-thirties, but that's what it was on a Thursday night. I'm not sure what this place is like any other night of the week, but I'd steer clear of Thursdays if you're over 25. It was like a bad frat party. I've been to good and bad frat parties in my day and this was a bad one. For "Ladies Night" there were an awful lot of guys in there last night. I'm pretty sure all of the local guys on the prowl are aware and gravitate to The Pound. I sat at the bar and just drank. It looks like it might be a good place to catch a game. I was distracted by what was going on around me to notice how many TVs were in there, but the ones at the bar were nice. The bartender was friendly and prompt...so kudos for that. I thought the atmosphere was nice and really liked the open air feel. I'd like to check this place out again on another night of the week. read more

Nice atmospheres a ok and the service. No for the consumable products. So to start off the tea that is offered is out of a gun. Not a good start. For an appetizer we ordered the nachos which was tasty but there wasn't 2 ounces of hamburger meat on the entire thing. The group of four ordered two burger both were the "pound" not bad not great.
