Don't waste your time/money here. There are plenty of other establishments to go to in Brighton. Came up to Michigan to visit some friends and we went to The Pound to have some dinner and drinks. To start things off, the service was horrible. Our food took over an hour to arrive at our table, drinks sat empty and when we did finally get refills, they were watered down. The beer was flat and tasted watered down as well. As far as the food, where to begin. A said before, the food took and hour to arrive at our table and was cold. The burger had no flavor at all and was over cooked, my friends ordered some wings and pizza. The wings had hardly any meat on them and tasted band. The pizza was under cooked and had entirely too much sauce. If I had the option to give less than 1* I would. We asked for the manager who was a complete joke. Took him 30 minutes from the time of us asking to speak to him to him arriving at our table. He was extremely unprofessional telling us "the food is how the owner likes it served and if we don't like it we can leave." If this is the case and the owner likes the food like this, he/she has some serious issues. I would highly suggest finding some better employees that care about the establishment they are working for rather than just be there to collect a paycheck starting with the poor excuse of a manager. Again, don't waste your time/money here. you will leave extremely disappointed. read more

We were only there for about 30 minutes before leaving. Our hostess took is outside since the roof top seething was full, we didn't really want to sit inside since it was so nice out. After looking over the menu and talking about which drinks and appetizers we would order first we waited. And then we waited longer. My wife and I talked to each other like people do, but after a while we really wanted something to drink, but no waitress ever came. We noticed that other people that came after us all had drinks, but us...nothing. Whenever a waitress finally would come outside she would never even look over to see that I was waiving. Twice a waitress came from behind and walked right passed and never turned around to see me waiving. I could see through the window waitresses cleaning tables and taking orders for new customers, but where was our waitress to take our order. One never came. On our way out I told the hostess that I was leaving because I was upset. She asked if i wanted her to send a waitress I said no, it's too late. Our night is already ruined. I wanted to go to another bar down he street, but my wife just wanted to go home. We went from looking forward to an awesome summer night to mad, frustrated and quite sad and disappointed. I wouldn't be upset if it took a long time for us to place a full order, but at least bring us some drinks please! read more

Beware!! Ordered two glasses of beer, the waiter came back with a pitcher. Said it was cheaper in the long run. Okay, go with the flow. Ordered a cheap appetizer and 1/2 pound burger with fries. Looked great, tasted okay. Got the bill for $39.00 - billed for the $16.00 one pound burger. Waiter said "Oh, thought you would want the 1 pound to split- most couples do. You ate it all, so the owner said not much he could do to correct the price." We'll go to Champs for our next meal. read more

I have frequented the Pound bar quite a bit since it has opened. I really enjoy the atmosphere and food. They have good drink specials as well on many of the days. Weekends are busy from what I've seen, especially on the roof. I'll be back!! read more

Went there twice this weekend! Had the best pizza & wings ever. Went back for the night life & had a great time on the roof & the service was excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I have been going to The Pound since it first opened. I loved going there to get the delicious pizza with my family, then go out for drinks with my friends later on in the evening. Though the drinks are over-priced and weak (compared to Lus and Stout), it was always a welcoming and fun place to go. I really liked the staff- very friendly people. However, I went there for the first time in a few months last weekend. The bouncer (who was about 65 years old with glasses) was telling guys they could not come in for wearing tank tops. He also told a friend that he couldn't wear a "chain" necklace (a respectable cross necklace that did not hang any farther than his neckline). This is all fine... except for the fact that there is NO DRESS CODE POSTED ANYWHERE. To add the cherry on top, he called me a bitch to my friends (though I said absolutely nothing to him or anyone else about the situation). I later learned that the management has change drastically. I felt unwelcome and bored the whole time I was there. The bouncers were starring my friends and I down the whole time (we are all in our mid to upper twenties and respectful/ responsible adults). We tip the bartenders very well and have never been rude to anyone or caused any sort of scene. One of the servers was so rude, she was literally shoving people out of the way and swearing at customers. She also spilled two half- full drinks on someone and didn't even apologize! Instead she rolled her eyes. I haven't seen customer service this bad since watching "Bar Rescue". If you are 50+, you may enjoy the nightlife of The Pound (seeing they are trying to eliminate the "younger crowd"). Its a perfect place for cougars and mid life crisis men! I am thoroughly disgusted by the new staff and changes made. I don't give this bar another five years if they are going to treat customers this way! I will never step foot in this tasteless bar again. read more

Good food, but a bit uncomfortable with the lady wait staff outfits. My daughter won't be working here. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and apps are tasty. read more

Great food and even better if you want SPORTS. Calzones are death-defying and sandwiches are just as great.

New menu. Somewhat disappointing as much more limited. Missing the Italiano which was one of the best "sandwiches" in Brighton. Kind of sad about that ... read more

We sat on the roof top patio for 10 mins before the hostess even brought us the menu then waited another 15 before leaving because the waitress never even came to take our drink order so we left without ever being served read more

I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. Tonight we went to The Pound in Brighton with my sister and brother in law. As we walked in the hostess informed us they only have ONE high chair and it was being used. SERIOUSLY one?? We were offered their ONE booster seat(which had no straps) and sat down. I do understand we could have gone somewhere else but at 6pm on a Saturday in Brighton, there aren't many choices. I asked to speak with the manager and he NEVER apologized. He explained they do have one more in the back but haven't assembled it yet(he even made a joke that he told the hostess to go assemble it then they laughed). He said they have only been open a couple of months. I said well you opened with chairs for adults why not children? He looked at me like I was insane and just said they have never needed more then one. I understand it is more of a bar but do not advertise as family friendly, and do not have a children's menu if you can not accommodate them. We did not come at 10pm, it was a normal dinner time for a family. What a complete disappointment. We will not being going back there. read more

Terrible service, disorganized. Apparently it's a bar for the young crowd run by a young, inexperienced wait/management staff . Went there for brunch on a Sunday with several families from our kid's hockey team. With about 30 of us you'd think the manager would give us a few different servers and divide and conquer but no, 1 server while 2 or 3 sat around and watched (there was only about 6 people there when we arrived). At any rate, took about 20 minutes plus to get the drink order, took over an hour to get the food order (and it was mediocre at best). The manager moved us 1/2 way through as they sat us in an area that they needed for a prescheduled party (maybe they didn't think their service would be so slow or maybe they're just not too smart). The manager gave us some free appetizers for the move (which ended up on our bills). It took quite awhile to get the bills and then they were wrong and they had to go through 2 iterations to get them right. 3 hours later we finally got out of there. Never again.....pathetic. if it wasn't for their location, this place wouldn't have made it this long with that service. They should be embarrassed. read more

I would say if you've scrolled through all these reviews and read through them they're probably almost all spot on. But in all fairness I don't feel like this place is claiming to be something they're not. I haven't eaten here but I'm sure the food is Meh at best, the service is hit or miss, one night I had a bartender who was really not that attentive but a week later I had a server who was decent so... really hit or miss on that. One thing I found strange maybe hilarious is that they have bouncers at night...why? It's Brighton, MI... I'm gonna guess not even Ypsilanti bars have bouncers, infact the only place in Ypsi that has bouncers is the strip club so...and I've partied at bars at MSU where lets be honest bouncers are needed... it's a college town with crazy college kids... Brighton is not that. The fact this place has like 3-4 bouncers working at one time suggest more or less something "crazy" might happen so I guess on a positive note you're in for a show if seeing someone drunk and disorderly is your idea of nightly entertainment. So honestly, don't go into this place with high expectations and expect Ann Arbor quality food, service, and drinks. But... but if you're bored on a Friday or Saturday and have nothing to do... roll the dice. Odds are you'll see some funny stuff. From the sounds of it you should just get your food and spirit needs out of the way first and maybe just stick to beer when you arrive. The one thing this place has going for it is the roof top bar. it's quite a view honestly, especially at night. read more

OK this is a new sports bar/ grill, so they still need to work some kinks out. Went there last night as a party of 3, and the place was very busy, all the tables were taken, but there was no line of people waiting to be seated. Hostess says it will be 10 - 15 minutes. We waited and a table of 6 cleared out, so I thought we would be seated there. I could see the hostess talking to the waitress who then talked with the manager and came back a said something to the hostess. Being curious, I asked why aren't we being seated? She said it was their policy to not put parties less than 4 at a table that has 6 seats. My response was that there is no one else waiting for this table. There were others who came in after us, but they left when they saw there would be a wait. Not the fault of the waitress or hostess, but talk about a clueless manager. I understand trying to maximize revenue, but when no one else is waiting, why not put some paying customers at the table? We ended up going to Bagger Daves, where we were immediately seated. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We had a party of 10 on a Friday night. We expected it to be busy, and 3 of us arrived 15 minutes before the rest of the group to see how long of a wait for a table. We were told it would be about a 15 - 20 minute wait, which we were certainly fine with. After 20 minutes, the 10 of us were seated in an area with ONLY 9 CHAIRS! We asked the waitress what to do about the person left standing, and we were told we would have to wait for a different booth to open up, because somebody else at a booth was using the last chair. 25 minutes later, we were told a table was ready. We were seated at a booth - WHICH ONLY SEATED 8 PEOPLE!!! We asked if we could have chairs to fit the remainder of our group, and were told (as we were with the first table) that there were no more chairs. THEN WHY DID YOU TELL US OUR TABLE WAS READY! Needless to say, we decided to eat elsewhere, but not without talking to a manager first. When I told him the situation, he said "We sit 10 - 12 people at that booth all the time. Do you have OLDER people or BIGGER people in your group?". No, we did not, but WHAT DOES THAT MATTER? YOU HAD 45 MINUTES TO SEE WHAT OUR GROUP LOOKED LIKE!!!!! The customer service here is HORRIBLE!!! We were really looking forward to trying this place out, but based on this experience, we will never go back again, and recommend that nobobdy else go either. I'd love to rate the food, BUT WE NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO EAT IT!!! read more

I will never go back!!! Went on a Monday night to celebrate a family members 21st birthday. We were sitting downstairs and all of us got kicked out to "go sit upstairs on the deck because they were closing the downstairs sections" as told from an employee at The Pound. So we went upstairs, no big deal. Waited 15 minutes until our drink order was finally taken. We were told, again, by an employee of The Pound, the specials were 1/2 off all drinks and another special on boneless wings. Since it was a 21st birthday, we were all thinking awesome, 1/2 off drinks, so we bought multiple extras only for this reason. There are also little booklets on EVERY table, ON THE UPSTAIRS TABLES, saying their specials for every day of the week.... one of them being Monday: 1/2 off all drinks. Well, it comes to the time where we all get our bills and notice the discounts had NOT been applied. (The 1/2 off drinks) We were charged full price. We had said something to the waitress who then went and got her manager. The manager told us that the specials only applied to the downstairs, not on the deck... which we had originally gotten kicked out of due to them closing those sections. Basically, the manager had blamed this on "new servers not knowing" and told us there was nothing she could do for us. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
