    Beef burger

The main purpose of us dining at The Postman's Leg was because we wanted to try their Quiz Night. I would be lying if I said I enjoyed the food.. I ordered the Classic Beef Burger which cost $16.50 which did not include any fries - was not very happy with this, the beef pattie was dry and all you can taste is charcoal and I believe was not worth the $16.50, Burger fuel has burgers that cost less and taste better, not to mention the size of the burger. My other team mates ordered other various burgers and they weren't too pleased either - the main problem was the meat was too dry, maybe they can think about putting the chutney/ sauce on top of the meat in the bun? We also ordered dessert - for the amount you are paying you would expect a rather generous portioned sized serving. We were severely disappointed - a couple of the team ordered the "Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate", which you get a slice of cheesecake, a small spoonful of chocolate mousse and a cookie. The only thing chocolate about it was the mousse and the sauce that was drizzled around it. In conclusion, we probably won't be going back to this venue - the food was mediocre, however the atmosphere was pretty good - the host was good and there were a lot of teams.

Hmmm... LOVE the look of the place. Expansive outdoor garden area with tables, a sandpit for the kiddies & a stage for bands to play weather permitting. Visited the Postman's Leg yesterday for a birthday party. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, especially since it was 'International Childrens Day' & they had advertised a bouncy castle, face painting and a balloon artist for the kids. Reading reviews on www.menumania.co.nz I was wary about this place & purposefully didn't arrive with much of an appetite. Seeing as the occasion was a lunch & the rest of the table were eating, we ordered a tandoori chicken pizza ($22.90) to share between my partner and I. We noticed a server carrying pizzas to another table & our hearts immediately sank. They looked tiny but we had already ordered. When our pizza arrived we weren't surprised that it only looked to be about 10 inches in diameter. For $22.90 I felt completely ripped off. The sauce and cheese were tasty enough but there were large bubbles covering the base which made the toppings lop-sided and left parts of the pizza bare. The pieces of 'tandoori' chicken were so bone dry they were inedible. Seriously. Like so dry that I didn't have enough saliva left in my mouth to swallow it and I had to spit it into my napkin. When we informed the server of this her reply was "oh yes, we have had quite a few complaints about this recently". No apology, no offer of a discount or free drinks. The other diners at our table had mixed reviews of their food, with two of them saying their steaks were incredibly tough. Everyone agreed the prices were very steep for the quality of the food. Glancing into the kitchen through the window it was apparent why our meals were lacking. No one in the kichen looked older than 21. The Postman's Leg is a great looking place, but they can't solely rely on this to keep the punters coming back. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Both were delicious and great for the price. After HH, I stayed for a Margherita pizza and more wine. The pizza was thin crust and tasted fresh. Only thing that was interesting to me was the inability to order the same HH wines after HH. The selection switches out. Service was really great and friendly. It started off rather quiet for HH but began to fill as time went on. Plenty of seating options and trendy decor.

I typically shy away from restaurants that are in the hotel because they tend to be pricey. We felt, for Americans, that this was decently priced and that each time we ate here, we got a different meal FOOD WE TRIED: - Chicken and vegetable dumplings - Prawn and chive Gyoza - Arancini - 55 day aged beef brisket sliders - Seafood Risotto - Spaghetti with mussels, snapper and prawns The sliders, gyoza and spaghetti with seafood was VERY good. I wouldn't order the dumplings again, but I always forget that chicken dumplings just aren't the same as pork and/or shrimp. The Arancini was a bit disappointing in flavor, maybe just a touch more salt would have been helpful and same thing with the flavor of the Risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on it just wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, for a risotto. Service was always great with the staff always helpful with recommendations. We were very happy to have access to this restaurant during our stay the Four Points

It's not what it was, so that's why I don't give the former business one star. Yelp needs to update this listing to show Permanently Closed. It's a sports bar, not a pub, so ... not a pub. They had Rugby League on, which is OK, but I watch Union. I ordered a Panhead Supercharger (American Pale Ale): it tasted of butterscotch (diacetyl) which should not, not, NOT be the case. I brought it up: "we just changed it". I gave a challenging look: the bartender tried it, said it was OK. Horseshit! I know my stuff and have had several of these while on vacation. It was not right. So poor quality of service. They have a large electronic gaming cave. Yuck. Not a pub. It's not Spitting Feathers anymore. I haven't been here on a Thursday or Sunday but apparently those are the nights to make and appearance (because the food is well cheap). Staff is also super nice. Spitting Feathers, you're a gem.

The meals are fantastic, and the portions are huge. I'm a fan of their pizza range and must say last time I had their hamburger I fell in love. It was delicious, though definitely too big for me! Even my Dad had trouble finishing it, but it's good to know you get your money's worth! Heineken is on tap at The Dominion, though the bar has a large selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available, so there is definitely something for everyone. While there is plenty of indoor seating, my favourite spot at The Dominion is outside. There are about eight outside tables, two of which are really big and perfect for meals with a group of friends or the family. During summer it's great to sit outside in the heat, but even in winter it's not too bad as there are outdoor heaters above the tables too Tip: There is a room upstairs with a separate bar and outdoor area that can be hired for private functions. Having attended many 21st parties there, I can say with all honesty it is the perfect venue. Not to mention there is a curtain of fairy lights, so that's a definite bonus!

Came on a wednesday night where there was live music (guitar/vocalist doing covers of a range of songs, some folk/indie/John Mayer) although I'm not sure what nights live music is available. The food here was actually pretty good considering what I thought I was walking into from the outside. The prices were a little bit on the high side but none the less the quality ensured that we got what we paid for. Service was great, wasn't too over the top, and it was a small place so the waiter could easily see if anyone needed anything. The only downside is that there's only one dining table indoors (which has a great view) making it a little hard to have a few plates of tapas at the couch seating area where the tables are quite small.
