Went to The Post and did a take out order. Only 10-15 minutes wait for a Chef salad and 6 traditional wings. Food was very good. I got the wings with honey bourbon sauce, sweat with a little heat, very good. The chef salad is large enough for two. read more

Slow night. Service was great. I was feeling like having some good food, like a treat, like price wasn't a factor. I ordered the tilapia and steamed vegetables. $17.10. The other order was chicken club. $13.75. When the food arived I thought I received an appetizer and thought I should have ordered the chicken like my guest had. I was very disappointed with the food I received. The vegetables I'm pretty sure were microwaved from frozen. The fish was like a bad appetizer size and not appetizing at all. It's an old post office with great character, friendly good service, good food, and also a bar if you just want a drink

This is the first time we have been to this restaurant. The nostalgia of it being the former post office is absolutely beautiful. They have kept most of the wood on the floors ceilings and walls as they possibly could, even the old iron bars that separated customers from the post office workers were still intact. We were greeted almost immediately upon entry. They had very friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean. All of the staff was wearing masks and the kitchen crew were all wearing masks, head coverings and gloves. The menu was incredible. They do have a lot of Italian dishes available including Pizza and pasta dishes. We were there at lunch time so we ordered from the sandwich side of the menu. Considering myself a tenderloin connoisseur I ordered the hand breaded tenderloin. I'm not even sure how to describe it other than remarkable, thick and hand breaded, fried to a perfect gold color and exact crispiness, and served on a toasted bun, with toppings of your choice. The french fries that accompanied it were also crispy and large l, hot and perfect. My husband ordered a fried chicken wrap in a spinach tortilla with fresh vegetables. The wrap was perfect. It was stuffed full of fried chicken pieces and all the toppings. The vegetables were grilled perfectly and he said they were very tasty. We will definitely bring friends back with us the next time we come and make this a day trip just to visit the Post restaurant. Absolutely wonderful!!! read more

Visited Tell City, Indiana this past weekend to check out the city with a friend. A lot of places were closed due to weather however we managed to eat at The Post Cafe on Main Street. It was pretty decent food for such a small town. The Post is located in an old, remodeled post office so the building is quite unique. I ordered the pasta Alfredo with Cajun shrimp. It had good flavor and was a hefty portion. The Alfredo sauce was very thick and cheesy, almost like Velveeta. It needed a bit of salt but other than that it was perfect. It came with a breadstick that was more sturdy than most and tasted homemade. The shrimp wrap I shared was DELICIOUS. My friend got the chicken Parmesan and said it was good. We also got a side salad which was nothing to write home about but they are all the same to me. By the time I removed the croutons and onion there wasn't much to it. Note: Croutons are a waste of time. We also ordered the nachos as an appetizer. Yum! Came here with three other guys on a Wednesday night after work. A few of them had been here before, but I was new to the area (on a business trip). The building used to be an old post office, so that's sort of neat. They had a 50 cent wing special and $10 bucket of beer (6 bottles per bucket). We ordered a dozen wings, 2 buckets, jacked up breadsticks, and individual entrees. The jacked up breadsticks aren't on the menu, but they're good. They're essentially fried dough strips sprinkled generously with parmesan cheese and they give a little cup of sloppy orange melted cheese (like movie theater quality nacho cheese spread) and a cup of marinara. I liked the breadsticks without dipping them. They were chewy and delicious. The wings were crispy and generously doused with buffalo wing sauce. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked, but I was also sharing with a group of people, and some were unable to handle anything too spicy. For my entree, I ordered the baked ziti. It actually turned out to be penne rigate, but that's fine. The dish was covered in a thick layer of cheese (too thick for me, so I peeled it off) and the noodles were mixed up with a nice, sweet tomato sauce (not too acidic, which I enjoyed) and sausage. The sausage wasn't really what I was expecting. It was more like little pebbles of sausage pieces, but it was still good. Two guys ordered personal pizzas, all of which sounded good. One of them ordered the Philly with alfredo sauce, which looked amazing (basically a deconstructed philly cheesesteak on a pizza). One ordered the CBR (chicken, bacon, ranch) which also looked really good. The last guy ordered lasagna, which looked good, but was also drowning in mozzarella cheese (like my pasta). There are plenty of televisions on the walls, two of which have games on them (poker and a quiz game - you have to ask a staff member for a controller) and the other two were playing college basketball. The menu mostly sandwiches and pizza, which by the way was quite good. Would of liked a more professional waitstaff, and not the bubblegum chomping" trying to hard to be cool" type. Better place for lunch than dinner, which hopefully will develope with time. I visit Tell City each year and try to give my business to all at least once, so this place is worth the visit! read more

Great place to go if you like to chase down your server to get a drink, or place an order for food. We have been three times, should have taken the hint the first time we went. We let a couple of locals talk us into the 2nd and 3rd try. Zero improvement. Stood at bar hoping to get a beer. One patron at bar, bartender was too engrossed with a personal conversation to break away to serve us. First time I have ever given a one star rating, too bad there was not a zero star option. Do yourself a favor, go to the Pour Haus, or just knock on a random door of any private house in town and ask for some food, much better chance of getting decent service that way. Not that many choices in TC, or this place would prolly have shuttered long ago. Too bad, the building being an old post office gave this place a chance to do something special. read more

So disappointed with our visit here. The service was horrible and wait staff was almost nonexistent. My husband ordered the blackened chicken dish; 30 minutes or longer after ordering, the waitress came out and said they couldn't make that dish. 30 minutes after taking the order!!
