Used to be the post office. Very unique and nostalgic.

This is the first time we have been to this restaurant. The nostalgia of it being the former post office is absolutely beautiful. They have kept most of the wood on the floors ceilings and walls as they possibly could, even the old iron bars that separated customers from the post office workers were still intact. We were greeted almost immediately upon entry. They had very friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean. All of the staff was wearing masks and the kitchen crew were all wearing masks, head coverings and gloves. The menu was incredible. They do have a lot of Italian dishes available including Pizza and pasta dishes. We were there at lunch time so we ordered from the sandwich side of the menu. Considering myself a tenderloin connoisseur I ordered the hand breaded tenderloin. I'm not even sure how to describe it other than remarkable, thick and hand breaded, fried to a perfect gold color and exact crispiness, and served on a toasted bun, with toppings of your choice. The french fries that accompanied it were also crispy and large l, hot and perfect. My husband ordered a fried chicken wrap in a spinach tortilla with fresh vegetables. The wrap was perfect. It was stuffed full of fried chicken pieces and all the toppings. The vegetables were grilled perfectly and he said they were very tasty. We will definitely bring friends back with us the next time we come and make this a day trip just to visit the Post restaurant. Absolutely wonderful!!!

Visited Tell City, Indiana this past weekend to check out the city with a friend. A lot of places were closed due to weather however we managed to eat at The Post Cafe on Main Street. It was pretty decent food for such a small town. The Post is located in an old, remodeled post office so the building is quite unique. I ordered the pasta Alfredo with Cajun shrimp. It had good flavor and was a hefty portion. The Alfredo sauce was very thick and cheesy, almost like Velveeta. It needed a bit of salt but other than that it was perfect. It came with a breadstick that was more sturdy than most and tasted homemade. The shrimp wrap I shared was DELICIOUS. My friend got the chicken Parmesan and said it was good. We also got a side salad which was nothing to write home about but they are all the same to me. By the time I removed the croutons and onion there wasn't much to it. Note: Croutons are a waste of time. We also ordered the nachos as an appetizer. It could have used some more beef and seasoning but okay for your standard run-of- the-mill nachos. #tellcityindiana #thepostcafe #indianafoodreview #indianarestaurant

Pretty good. Fish tacos were a hit, spicy; salads good; appetizers average. Cute place, inside old post office.

Torta Al pastor I also had some horchata to go with it. She brought me three salsas to try in bottles. A creamy red, creamy green and a more traditional red salsa. All three were delicious ! Meal service requires you to order at the counter, then your food is brought out to you at a nearby table of your choice. This is a no-frills dining experience, but do not let that fool you...the food is top notch! I ordered a small variety of items to sample...a marinated pork taco, loaded steak fries and for dessert a flan. After a bit of a wait (they make everything to order), it all showed up at our table. The pork taco was dripping with charred pork flavor and came with grilled onions on the side. The double corn tortilla kept everything together as I dug in bite after bite. When the loaded steak fries showed up, my jaw dropped to the ground! This thing was big enough for 3-4 people to share...whoopsy! The crispy fries came layered with strips of grilled steak, a white cheese sauce, guacamole and a sour cream drizzle. Damn these things were good! And if that wasn't enough, I also ordered dessert because I am a sucker for flan (I grew up in Miami and have eaten probably one million flans). Honestly, was not a fan of their version's texture (too grainy, not creamy) and their sauce was not as sweet as many others I've had...but glad to have tried it. For being a small-town Indiana spot, I'd go back here no questions asked. There is an extensive menu for trying new stuff and I'd love to get that chance someday!
