We had lunch (Nov 30, 2026)at El Bracero in Owensboro. We ordered the Deluxe Burrito and the Chicken Fajita. Both were excellent! Our waitress (Zititaly) was very sweet and an excellent waitress. She was on top of her game! Zititaly is definitely an asset to your brand. We would look forward to having her as our waitress again. I have noticed El Bracero right beside the freeway in Owensboro. I had done some research on it and it sounded intriguing enough to give it a try. It turns out that it is in a old Logan's Roadhouse. The salsa was good but on the more vinegar side. My sweet tea was refreshingly sweet. For my entree, I went with the Mexican Flag Enchiladas since I'm a sauceaholic. The Enchiladas came stuffed with chicken with one with salsa Verde, another with Ranchero, and another with cheese sauce. The chicken was marinated and seasoned but it was on the dry side. The meal does come with a Mexican salad of sour cream, Pico de Gallo, guacamole, and that waste of space - lettuce. Rice came with the entree. The Enchiladas needed more of something in my opinion but they were all right. I would estimate here again but it's also another run of the mill Mexican restaurant in a old Logan's. read more

Food ok Service slow Ambience, extremely loud, somewhat dirty feeling. Really not much more to say I was traveling with work and I was craving Mexican would not go here again. I usually judge a great Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa this taste like something straight out of a jar almost like ketchup. Chips are thick and cold. I can't really read the food because I was afraid to order anything too extravagant. I just ordered to be in enchiladas and a cheese enchilada to be on the safe side. After a family fun day , we hadn't really been around Owensboro so we decided to eat at a Mexican but sadly it was not what we expected. Our waiter almost feed my friend who is deathly allergic to shrimp , SHRIMP . We said no and no over again and she keeped saying add it ? We will never eat here again. read more

Traveling for work and stayed at Courtyard by Marriott just down street. Craving Mexican so decided this was best option since wanted margaritas and didn't have to drive. Reviews were mediocre, but not sure why. Server was very attentive and food fresh and quite good. Had guacamole...large portion but freshly made and quite good. For main course got traditional tacos with adobo pork...they were fabulous! Ended up just eating the pork and guacamole together on fresh tortilla chips with the spicy tomatillo sauce. Perfect with the margarita! When I come back to Owensboro I would definitely eat here if looking for Mexican!! read more

We had a group of 40 hockey players and parents. I called a few hours ahead to see if they could accommodate us. We arrived and they seated all of us together at 3 large tables. Visited this restaurant reluctantly based on reviews as a frequent Yelper. As a business traveler I was looking for something unique and hoped this was a capable location. I ordered one of their specialties, Chicken steak shrimp served in a hot stone bowl, every bite was hot and tasty. It was mixed with fresh cut seared peppers and onion, topped with a perfectly tastily grilled cactus leaf nestled with a whole large fire grilled jalapeño, could moderate the spice while flavor punched, I ordered it without the rice. Well needless to say my boyfriend and I are deemed as regulars. And we have no shame! This place has great food. Great service. The drinks are great. Margaritas are strong! But amazing! Prices are great. We can probably 2 to 3 times a week... Don't judge ... There are multiple other Mexican restaurants in town and those are good too but there is just some thing about this restaurant that we just love. We always sit at the bar. read more

I have been here twice so far. Food portions were very large. Food tasted good but was not consistent with both times I went nor was it the same as what appeared or described on the menu. I had a very friendly waitress and waiter (2nd visit), however, service was a bit slow during a slow time of day without many other customers. Best chain Mexican restaurant around. They took an old steakhouse and turned into a pretty sweet Tex-Mex joint. The late night drink specials can't be beat with $1 12oz draft beer is hard to beat and the Margaronas are the best in town. I've gotten the wet burrito several times with different filling and each one has been amazing. The salsa is just right not too soupy and not too chunky. Not terrible, but not outstanding either. Just another average Tex-Mex place. The tamale in the corn husk had ample flavor, but could have steamed a little longer (mass was soft and not fully set). I had the speedy Gonzalez lunch. The food was ample, but nothing special. It's worth a second try to see some of the other menu options to see if they impress or underwhelm. Run of the mill Mexican. Nothing special. The vegetable fajita should be called a greasy onion fajita. It was filled with grease at the bottom and literally had 2 broccoli florets and 2 florets of cauliflower. I was attracted to it because it had the extra vegetables. 85% was onion. Will not be back. My wife and I were very disappointed. The waitress was very nice. But after that everything went downhill from there. Even the hostess who seated us seemed to be distracted, hardly even making any eye to eye contact. When our food came to the table, the actual presentation was anything but appealing. My tamale was a joke. My wife's dinner was soggy and the chicken was so tough, she couldn't chew it. We asked that the price of her meal be removed from the bill. She had taken a couple of bites deciding that was enough, sending it back to the kitchen. The waitress offered a 10 % discount. We asked to speak to the manager. A female manager came to our table. She was worse than the meal. No apology, no customer service whatsoever. Didn't even ask us if we wanted to try something else. At least the waitress regretted our lack of satisfaction. Not the female manager she couldn't have cared less. She was arrogant and simply couldn't be bothered. That's okay we will never be a bother to her again. Ever. read more
