The mustard sauce was what I would expect in Carolina style bbq, and, go figure, nobody was willing to share the recipe. Restaurant was like the pics, it's functional. Focus is on the food. I ordered the **smoked meatloaf** after hearing others rave about it, and it was incredible--full of flavor, smelled amazing, and cooked perfectly. I was able to try **chow chow** which I have never tried, was really good, added a great kick in flavor. Great food, welcoming service, and a place I'll definitely be returning to. We pulled in, found a spot immediately, and somehow survived the ordeal. Then the seating. My wife and I managed to endure the horrifying experience of sitting on a wooden bench while eating amazing barbecue. The restaurant was busy, which I foolishly interpreted as a sign that people enjoy eating there. As a couple, we spent around $50 and immediately regretted... not ordering more brisket. I was genuinely offended by how quickly it disappeared. The sauces were terrible if your goal is choosing just one. I kept going back for "one more taste" until I had sampled all of them multiple times. Now the food... Lord, the brisket. Moist, smoky, and somehow the complete opposite of everything I was warned about. The mac and cheese was great, the baked beans were great, and the sweet potato crunch actually had crunch. The only reason I'm giving this place five stars is because Yelp won't let me give six. Left disappointed in only one thing: that I don't live closer.
