She was incredibly patient with my two young sons who had tons of questions and we're super excited. I honestly cannot wait to visit the store again. We happily joined the rewards program as we know that this was the first of many visits. The prices were incredibly reasonable, especially the promotion for 75 truffles for $37 that were also accompanied with a lovely gift bag. Tons of selection, especially of items that you can't find elsewhere. This is definitely a hidden gem in Carlisle.

They also sell specialty shakes with rotating flavors each month. We went in especially for these shakes and got the Don't Be Salty and Gimme S'more of That. They were fun but the shake itself was thin and tasted more like chocolate milk. The two workers were very friendly and helpful and they even cleaned out our take home Mason jar for us after we done with our shake. It's worth a visit. I also recommended the Farmhouse Exchange next door which sells sandwiches and jarred goods as well as many delicious baked goods. The liquor store on the other side is also good.

They had a window of luscious chocolates you could purchase in addition there were caramel apples and delicious nut and caramel clusters with chocolate on top both light and dark. I also purchased a marshmallow on a stick dipped in caramel with chocolate accents. There was a pack of 6 caramels I purchased too- so soft, fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this nostalgic candy shop.

The candy of old. Part museum and part sweet shop, they have displays showing the candies through the ages, from native American hickory bark to 1900 toys and food items behind glass. In the end, we got our bill down to under $30 and just got four different things including some chocolate covered almonds for me (vacation food!) and both ginger and licorice for Mrs. K. Note that True Treats Candy is not handicapped accessible. The entrance is a somewhat steep set of stairs. They might have a rear entrance, probably just ask. I was dad of the year since I never take them to candy shops! But what I found was just so great about this place was the unique offerings. It's a family tradition to make gingerbread houses and I found all the old time candy I used to decorate the gingerbread houses with my mom. They have ribbon candy, and just about any kind of candy you can think of. They also have clear toy candy, which is a very old type of candy that is very rare to find. I spent a near fortune getting clear toy candy at an old time shop in Philadelphia last year. And loved the selection this shop had. It still wasn't cheap but nowhere near what I paid in Philly! My kids couldn't help but pick out some candy for themselves and I got 2 bags of gummy candy that was about the freshest gummies I've ever had. Lastly, the shop has a really fun throwback of those quarter dispensers where you can put in the coins and get either a handful of candy or a toy. My kids were less interested in this. But it brought back memories for me of growing up in PA, and seeing these machines at all the local grocery stores. This shop is fantastic and I hope they continue to thrive.
