After a frustrating traffic jam in Harrisburg caused me to be lost and feeling mildly full of driving rage, I decided it was time to stop driving. I was in Lemoyne and had no idea what was there. I saw the sign for Macris Chocolates and on a whim, I went inside. WOW WOW WOW. They make their own fillings. They had the puffiest dried apricots dipped in chocolate that I had ever seen. The meltaways were in a case. The nuts in another. Dark chocolate and milk chocolate. For me, the stars were the fruit jellies and the chocolate covered cherries. I took two small boxes home and multiple family members were as impressed as I was. My mom specifically said "you can get me a box of this stuff for my birthday." If you need chocolate, and you need quality chocolate, for a gift or a party or just for yourself, go here. It is divine.

I surprised my Groom with a S'mores Bar. It was a hit! Macris went over and beyond what I could ever imagine.

All Brides....check out there wedding favors. I decided to go with the s'mores bar and I'm so glad that I did. The chocolate was amazing. Presentation was something right out off Pintrist. My friends are still talking about it. This was a surprise for my groom (who's a chocolate lover) So much better then a traditional wedding cake.

Located towards one end of the West Shore Lemoyne Plaza, this store makes the most amazing chocolate assortments. It has a beautiful interior and the staff is as friendly and sweet s the chocolates themselves.. You can buy boxed chocolates, custom gift baskets or chocolate by the pound which sells at $22.00/lb. Store has many seasonal decorations - nowadays valentine themed boxes were available. Asked the staff and was told that the chocolate shelf life is about 3 months - they make these somewhere in north of Pittsburgh and then get regular deliveries to this store depending on the demand and season. Love their croquettes, nougats and the marshmallow ones! Also have some of the flavors of the famous Penn State icecream - a little pricey but still a good option if you're really craving for it. Nice place for some local holidays gifts!

I prefer these dark chocolates over most other dark chocolates, which says a lot since dark chocolate isn't my personal favorite.

When I saw PA Bakery advertising mini King Cakes for Mardi Gras, I was genuinely thrilled. A…read morereasonably sized King Cake felt like a dream come true -- all the fun of the tradition without committing to feeding an entire village. I immediately pre-ordered two mini King Cakes at $5.50 each (total $11), already imagining the moment I'd get to gloat when I found the hidden baby! The mini King Cakes were actually quite generous in size. Easily enough for 3-4 people...although I personally demolished mine in one sitting and have zero regrets. Now for the part that caught me off guard. The plastic baby -- arguably the entire point of a traditional King Cake -- was perched on top instead of hidden inside. I was fully anticipating that moment of excitement that comes from discovering the baby mid-bite, because that's kind of the magic of a King Cake tradition. Without that element, what I ended up with felt more like a very festive brioche-style cinnamon roll wearing Mardi Gras colors than a King Cake. To be clear, it tasted good. The cake itself was soft without being dry, had plenty of cinnamon-esque filling without tipping into overly gooey territory, and was generously finished with frosting and sugary crystals. Flavor-wise, no complaints. But if you're marketing something specifically as a King Cake, the expectation is that the baby is hidden within. Otherwise, it changes the experience entirely. For food safety purposes, there are plenty of creative alternatives -- an edible marzipan baby, a clearly oversized non-choking-hazard version, sticker on the box, etc. -- but the surprise element is part of what makes a King Cake a King Cake. Overall, not a bad experience -- just not quite the Mardi Gras moment I was hoping for. Next year, I'll probably seek out a bakery that leans into the full King Cake tradition...because if I'm chasing the thrill of finding a tiny plastic baby in my dessert, I want to earn that victory properly. If the baby isn't going in the cake, just let me know up front so I can manage my expectations (and my Mardi Gras excitement) accordingly.

Always a great spot to stop by for some sweets. Even made a custom cake as a treat!…read more Camp hills go to spot for the pleasure, Never disappoints in the bakery feats :)
