Breakfast tacos
Adia H.

The food is delicious. I got breakfast tacos with eggs, choriz, beans, cheese, and salsa fresca. OUTSTANDING! Will absolutely be coming back to try out the rest of their menu. Service was excellent, they are really nice.

Overflowing Trash

I was excited to try this place but was underwhelmed. I came on a Friday at dinner time. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was the overflowing trash cans right outside the restaurant. Once inside, I was greeted and noticed the A/C and the tons of food options. I looked at their Yelp page for their location on East Cliff and noticed the most popular item was the Cali breakfast burrito. So, I ordered the large Cali breakfast burrito with salsa. While I waited for my food to be ready, I went outside and picked a table to eat at. I quickly realized that because the two trash cans outside were full, they had attracted lots of yellow jackets. Since I do not like yellow jackets bothering me while I eat, I moved inside. My food was ready quickly and was amazed by the size of the burrito! That is about where the excitement ended. The burrito lacked flavor and was kind of bland. The beef in the burrito had gristle. There was no salsa inside the burrito or on the side even though I said yes to salsa. One suggestion for inside would be to have a water jug for people to get water themselves. I am willing to give this place another try once they work out the kinks that I mentioned.

First time in and was greeted by a great vibe and a gentleman named Hassan. Great vibe, clean and a huge menu! When workers are chatting and laughing and everyone seems glad to be there I notice. The steak was lean and the portion was huge. I had to deconstruct it to eat it! I got two meals out of this sandwich so for the price it was worth it. Sandwich plus drink and 20% tip was $24.00

Excellent menu!! Varied, a lot of options. Barrel hit hard .. worth the drive and money . Thank you!!

Ham burrito?

WORST burritos we ever had! The other burrito reviews cannot be real. That's impossible. This is California, so everyone has access to good burritos; in my experience, locals have educated tastes around this dish. So there is no way those reviews are not manipulated somehow. I ordered a steak burrito, and I received a ham one. I didn't complain because I know the struggle in the restaurant biz. A ham burrito can be a great one too, but NOT HERE! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I apologize for the blurry ones. But overall: - Old, dry, overcooked potatoes. Felt like they were cooked days ago. - Dry and SUPER overcooked/burnt eggs (see pics). - Flavorless. Every bite felt bland. We needed a lot of salsa (which was basic, too). - The cheese was not melted (see pic). - Too much tortilla wrap (basic tortilla taste too, no freshness in it; you can tell it was warmed up on an oily, dirty grill). To the owner: please put some care into your restaurant. Scotts Valley deserves a better food scene. To customers: AVOID! There are so many great Mexican restaurants around the area. Take your money somewhere it's worth it.

Double smash burger

Delicious and hefty smash burgers with great service. The menu is surprisingly extensive for such a small business. I've been going to the east side Point for years and really pleased to find the Scotts Valley location to be every bit as good with less of a line to wait in.

I'm a changed person after the OG smash burger... phenomenal. My boyfriend got the sour cream and onion smash burger and couldn't stop licking his fingers. Quick, easy, delicious. The Good: * FKA "SC Bread Boy," they still sell sourdough boules. * Large covered outdoor dog-friendly seating * Cannoli was delicious, and they have so many flavors that there's something for everyone. *Burgers were omfg delicious. I don't like to use superlatives like "the best" loosely, but these might be the best smash burgers we've ever had. *Fries were also bomb af, and perfectly seasoned. *Fresh beers next door at Humble Sea Tavern The Meh: *A little pricey for a burger and fries, but jfc, it's delicious and worth every penny. *Limited menu and certain items are only available for dinner. Not to mention they're a very small kitchen, so they do sell out. *Not the best place if you're a vegan or vegetarian, as the options will be extremely limited. I personally don't care, but just throwing it out there jic. The Ugly: * We tried visiting here once before but got scared off by the signage in the parking lot that states something to the effect of "Parking for Wild Roots Market and the Cremer House." Well, we had no idea what the "Cremer House" was, so we got scared of getting towed and dipped out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Beer and burgers. 'Nuff said...

The burgers are always juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The sides are just as good--crispy fries and delicious shakes that complete the whole experience. What makes it even better is the great atmosphere and friendly staff. You always feel welcomed, and the service is quick and attentive. If you're in Santa Cruz and craving a really good burger, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

I expected the same quality of the burgers many moons ago; however, this wasn't the case on our return trip. Firstly, the service wasn't as friendly this time around as the staff is mostly consisted of younger people in their early 20's. They were too busy concentrating on each other cracking jokes with one another instead of taking care of their customers. When we received our burgers, they weren't as juicy as our previous visits. The flavor was decent, but chewing on every bite resulted in a dry texture that wasn't appetizing. Our side of sweet potatoes was also inconsistent; some were soggy and some were crispy. Don't know what was happening in the kitchen, but all I recall observing was a lack of proper execution. Perhaps they needed to concentrate better on their tasks on hand. Overall, it's still a decent burger, but the quality is not the same compared to our previous visits. Betty would be somewhat disappointed.

10/10 - Our New Favorite Spot!…read more Just had an AMAZING experience at JJ's Burgers in San Juan Bautista, and I'm still blown away by how good everything was! First off, the portion sizes are crazy generous -- seriously, you will NOT leave hungry. A huge shoutout to Roxanna, who gave us some of the best customer service we've ever had. She greeted us the moment we walked in and told us to sit anywhere we liked. Menus were brought out immediately, and when I asked for recommendations, she gave super detailed info about the menu favorites -- including her personal picks. Thanks to her suggestions, I ordered the Mushroom Burger with garlic fries, and WOW... hands down the best garlic fries I've ever had. The burger was insanely delicious and packed with flavor. I tried my best to finish it, but the portions were so big I had to tap out (even after sharing fries!). My son ordered onion rings and a cookies & crème milkshake, and he loved both. We shared the onion rings because he couldn't finish them either -- again, HUGE portions. And according to him, the milkshake is the best ever. Service-wise? Easily a 10-star experience. Roxanna checked on us often, made sure we had everything we needed, and I noticed she treated all the customers with the same level of friendliness and attention. She's patient, personable, and really elevates the whole dining experience. We'll definitely be back -- this just became our new go-to spot!

The fries with the spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce made the dish. It was very savory. My son enjoyed it. The fried calamari was also good. The calamari and jalapeno peppers were crispy and salted well. My grandma and I visited around dinner on a Saturday and were seated on the (dog-friendly) patio. They did have propane heaters, but not enough of them, so it was quite chilly. For drinks, we both got hot Green Tea to warm up, which was very standard - served in pre-packed tea bags. For food, we ordered the Okonomiyaki Fries and Maitake Mushroom Flatbread to share. The Okonomiyaki Fries were pretty good and I enjoyed all the toppings, especially the spicy pink mayo. I usually prefer thinner fries, but I liked the crispy texture. However, the Maitake Mushroom Flatbread was a bit disappointing. There just wasn't enough bechamel and mozzarella on top and the flavor somewhat bland. Service was friendly, but I miss their old menu offerings, like the Heirloom Tomato Flatbread. Not a huge fan of the rebrand!
