    Benedict's Place
    Dharma M.

Love this place. I can say it can be a hidden gem. It is family run business and has been around for for decade. They serve American style dishes which you will find at most of American Diner place. We arrived for brunch/lunch and it was busy that time. They have indoor and outdoor sitting and we chose outdoor. It was nice sitting area where you can freely speak. We order Benedict's Place, Don Juan Salad, just two eggs, potato and taost, extra bacon and chicken fried steak. the portion is good and price wise, they are reasonable. The food was yummy. I like the benedict and also fried steak and the gravy. Overall service was ok.

My family and I were visiting Santa Cruz and Big Sur over Labor Day Weekend. Heavenly Roadside Cafe is a popular place. We arrived around 10 am and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered the following items: huevos rancheros (9/10). The sauce was tasty! The short stack of pancakes was amazing!. The Rico Suave burger with a side salad, 8/10. Last but not least, the cab sandwich and bacon with fries. 9/10. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful--plenty of parking available. I suggest you arrive early to avoid waiting too long. We noticed it started getting busy after 10:30 am on a Monday.

Great service, good food and lovely vibes. Mocha was great, nice coffee and not too sweet I love the small plate crab cake, it came with salad, just the right portion for me Smoked salmon Benedict was awesome, the cubed potatoes were delicious, salmon was tasty and the runny eggs were amazing. We seated outside under the tree shaded area, it's a pretty day. The staffs were fantastic too, smiling and quick service

Service was a little slow this morning, but food tasted great, prices are fair, and the portions were pretty large. A great classic American breakfast/brunch option in Scott's Valley (probably my favorite in the area)

Heavenly Roadside Cafe is such a hidden gem. I tried the veg club sandwich, eggs benedict and the Cobb salad. Honestly, everything was delicious! The portions are huge like you definitely won't leave hungry. The staff is super friendly and the whole place has this relaxed vibe with really nice outdoor seating. It's the kind of spot you stumble on once and want to come back to. Highly recommend!

Veggie Benedict, and a classic breakfast with linguica

Bomb! So glad this location is open. Such a beautiful setting with nature around. Kinda loud and busy inside but still enough space. I got a veggie Benedict which had spinach and mushrooms. Super good. Potatoes were great too. No complaints about my friends, with linguica. They are busy but Service friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back. Menu looks delicious

This is a cute cafe literally on the side of the road. I felt transported to a small town in the Midwest when I walked in. The service was great. People were friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. And they served breakfast dishes all day, so my friend and I both got breakfast for lunch! The portions were huge that I had to take part of it home. We even got their special lemonade with mango purée, which was perfect for a hot day. I knocked off a star only for the lack of A/C and decor, but those items are pretty small. I would recommend Heavenly Roadside to friends.

While visiting Santa Cruz, we discovered Heavenly Roadside Cafe while looking up breakfast places. Such a hidden gem! I ordered a belgian waffle with fresh fruit and it was so crispy and buttery! The fruit was all fresh and delicious. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with bacon and avocado with potatoes on the side. It was a great portion and he liked it a lot! The service was great and the views were as well.

Came here thinking this was a good place it was HORRIBLE let me tell you it was hot in here and it's still morning !! They give you toast and you ask for jelly they give you one jelly make it last !! Burger was under seasoned no mayo mustard or ketchup you have to ask for all that and by the time you ask for all that you get the death stare by waitress don't ask for napkins either and the biscuit and gravy was gross no sausage in it extra heavy on the cream plus instead of two biscuits and two eggs for 17$ they cut one biscuits in half and tried to pass it as two biscuits and only one egg then the water is very gross so you have to buy a soda that's another 4 dollars avoid at all cost you been advised Very over hyped and over priced not worth your time trust me

Bella Burger with smoked bacon, avocado , cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle and house made fries.

Had a Bella Cali cheese burger with bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce and house made fries, good service , good food.

Beautiful water in a glass bottle.

Omg...WOW! My wife and I love to go out to breakfast. It's totally our thing. With that said, I can't believe we've never eaten here! I don't know where to begin. With the first bite, I couldn't wait to come back and try more. I love to research yelp and I was ready for this place. I enclosed a picture from my food research journal. First off..they give you a lovely glass bottle of water for the table. My wife and I ordered coffee. Amazing coffee!!! So bold and not a tad bitter! After the first sip of coffee, I knew this was going to be a treat. I ordered the Portuguese omelet. It came with potatoes and I substituted toast for a biscuit and a side of gravy. The omelet was incredible. I gave a bite to my wife and she said it was "like fireworks in your mouth"...That's totally my opinion! The potatoes were perfect. The biscuits was lovely and the gravy was next to perfect. Everything was so fresh. My wife had the classic eggs ben...they definitely don't skimp on the fresh hollandaise sauce. She loved it. We walked away feeling full all day, but not "food coma" tired. We talked about how wonderful the food was all day. I can't wait to go back and try more. Also, out waitress, Mayra, was so attentive and sweet! We'll be back...probably this week. Such a gem! Next time I'll definitely try a mimosa!

Everyone was attentive and just had an amazing time. about 20 people showed up. The third time we went to the pool with 3 kids. It was a bit pricy for 5 people with food and drinks. It also did take a little long like 30 minutes for drinks but it was fun and the pool was warm. They brought out a pretzel that was rock hard. When I told them they quickly brought me a new one that was soft.

The poolside vibe was a much needed break and everything I was hoping for. Laying out to tan, getting cocktails delivered to your lounge chair, and taking a dip in the pool was so lovely. That said, splurge in the operative word. At a $25 entry fee and $16 a mixed drink, the tab can add up quickly. Decided not to opt for food or snacks because of the prices. But I knew I was paying for the experience and was happy to go all in for drink and vibes. Excited to be back :)

I booked very early on with her and had many questions and follow ups. She always responded promptly with love, compassion, and a clear passion for her work. In addition, when Alicia joined on our team, she integrated seamlessly when working alongside Molly. We were so impressed by Molly's cooking (and overall hospitality and gratitude) when we enjoyed her tasting. We lowered our expectations when we assumed that food made in bulk for a wedding wouldn't be as good. I am so so pleased to say the food was just as incredible when it served over 110 guests. It greatly exceeded our expectations. Molly cooks with love. You can feel it when you're enjoying your meal. We got so many compliments from our guests who came up to us raving about how delicious everything was. In addition, Wylder Space did more than just cook! They coordinated linen rentals, set up table settings, and advised about the BYOB drinks. I truly don't know how Molly finds the time to be so communicative while pouring her heart into amazing meals and effective party planning. Molly and Wylder Space, you are a huge reason our wedding was such a success. We understand why you're one of Nestldown's preferred vendors. We hold you to a very high regard. Thank you for everything!

I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Poor Service, Hidden Fees, and a $300 Smoking Charge…read more My stay was extremely disappointing and reflects a breakdown in basic service standards and billing practices. During the stay, there were no towels available at the pool, daily room cleaning was not provided, parking transactions included additional service fees, and coffee from the lobby/breakfast area carried a $5 charge. These issues were inconvenient, but the primary concern arose after checkout. After departure, I was charged a $300 smoking fee based solely on an air quality and humidity detector reading. I do not smoke. During the timeframe in question, I was using a small water-based clothing steamer to remove wrinkles from clothing after travel. The charge was not disclosed at checkout, and no physical evidence of smoking was provided. Hotel staff acknowledged that these types of sensors can be triggered by factors unrelated to smoking. Despite this, no independent review or investigation was conducted, and no additional evidence beyond the detector reading was provided. I was directed to dispute the charge through my credit card issuer. I escalated the matter to Hilton corporate customer service, but the case was redirected back to the same property without independent review. The General Manager did not respond to multiple outreach attempts, including email and a request for a callback. After researching, I found similar complaints from other guests regarding smoking fee disputes at this property, raising concerns about how these charges are determined and reviewed, and the reliability of the technology being used. I support non-smoking policies; however, issuing significant charges based solely on a sensor reading without supporting evidence or meaningful review is not acceptable. This experience has significantly impacted my confidence in both this property and the consistency of issue resolution within the Hilton brand. I would still welcome a fair review of this charge and a good-faith effort to resolve the matter appropriately.
