Beautiful relaxed upscale shopping center with plentiful quality restaurant options to boot. We loved all the green spaces in which to relax between stores. Nice post but the blinking blue light in the parking lot is a nightmare and makes uncomfortable to sit and eat.

Open and in full swing. Several non-familiar retail shops (nice touch) and dining options. One can quickly stroll the grounds, the place isn't very large. It's sort of an oasis, a place to grab a meal, enjoy the fountain and peruse the shopping. I'm not the type who enjoys shopping, but I'd say the options are decent. Love the orange appointments - I still think orange is the new pink - love how refreshing the color is. Flowers, signage....lots of orange. Lunch time here is crazy - parking and eating IS challenging especially at the height of the lunch hour. Save yourself a headache, arrive before 11:30am or after 2pm to miss the crowd. Better yet, enjoy the dinner hour - not a lot of people and hardly any wait at the restaurants. Parking can get tricky but if you're really lazy, you can valet your car. Still a few empty units but will soon fill with an ice cream establishment, a bar/grill and likely more retail. It'll be fun to visit again to see what's new or changed. read more

The Point is California shopping at its best. The sun. The breeze flowing through... Fresh plants all around. Cool water features. Concerts scheduled. Al fresco dining! Try North Italia. (I wrote a review for them too.) Before we visited, I knew I would appreciate Peet's (even though there is just a cart set up for now), Michael Stars, and Athleta (love, love, love), but now I think I might familiarize myself with quite a few of the other stores once the newness wears off. Fake grass lawns have tons of kids running around, and nice shops (pricey) to browse...hey, the neighborhood is basically: rich people. Good spots to eat: North Italia, Superba, and Smitten. This is a great meet up place for friends with children. It's very family oriented with nicer kid friendly restaurants. There is plenty of seating areas and the maintenance staff keep the grounds immaculate. The Point is smaller in size compared with the huge shopping centers in the South Bay; however, I always manage to spend a minimum of three hours here with family or friends. read more

The family and I have been visiting The Point 1-2 times a week for the last 2 months. We love the modern style, the open feel and the restaurant options. Currently it is the hot, new place to visit in the South Bay. We come for the restaurants, we picnic during the Wed night concerts (good cover bands playing songs we know, sound guy seems oblivious to the legions of young kids who prefer the volume to be two notches lower - too loud for babies) and we have checked out a special event geared toward kids (face painting, balloon artist). Restaurants of note: * Mendocino Farms - one of the greatest sandwich and salad places on Earth * Shophouse - affordable Asian style bowls, sister to Chipotle * Hopdoddy - beer connoisseurs will appreciate the great list of brews offered, chain that has been very successful outside of CA * True Food - healthy but tasty fusion cuisine Location wise, The Point is a bit of an oasis, aka hard to get to. It is not connected to the malls to the north and south. Parking already can be nightmare. (Why is every 5th parking spot reserved for clean air vehicles?!? The SUV driving mommy in me screams that it should be FIFO!) It really ends up being a destination you need to plan to go to vs a place where you stop by. The Point is still selling retail space, so I gather they are trying to figure this out. Currently, The Point's offerings are heavily skewed - there are many great restaurants but not enough appealing retail. While Whole Foods and Pinkberry draw us into the mall to the north and the Apple Store, Pottery Barn and other typical offerings draw us to the mall to the south, we have not found a retail hook at The Point. When the celebratory weekly concerts and events are over, will we still find reasons to visit and dine? We hope so but time will tell... read more

Checked this place out on Memorial Day and it was really packed based on how it took us a bit to find parking. Once we did, we made our way to the plaza and it looked really nice and in the higher end of aesthetics. There were a bunch of restaurants that bordered around the plaza and a lot seemed to cater towards the healthier options. There were a bunch of higher end stores placed here and there between the restaurants that my boyfriend and I would either pass by or enter in, which were really only two stores that caught my eye. The middle of the plaza had a grass area with a nice looking fountain, various chairs and tables to sit at and even a little section for the kids to play in. Overall, this place was nice to walk through, but did not have much to offer when it came to the number of stores and restaurants available. Definitely would have spent more time here if we had decided to eat here. read more

A new plaza full of stores and eateries. Parking available, but can get very packed on the weekends. I love the outdoor environment, with nice sofas, and even a foosball table. Good thing there's shade, so people can hang out at the outdoor tables/chairs, and even sit on the grass. Restaurants seem full of people, which is great. This is a pretty cool outdoors complex shopping mall in El Segundo Ca. The parking lot is very huge, plus there is free parking 9:00am to 9:00pm. There are a variety of shops and restaurants here. The landscaping is so beautiful with lots of plants and flowers. The green, grassy areas are beautiful - park benches, tables with umbrellas and an intriguing water fountain. A few of the restaurants are True Foods Kitchen, (which is why I go to the Point), The Mendicno Farm and North Italia. This truly a very nice place to visit, to eat, to shop or just go to chill. One more thing, The Point is not dog friendly. read more

This little outdoor shopping center is truly a little neighborhood gem. Located in the El Segundo area (near LAX), it was comforting to know this place is located so close to the hotel I stay at every time I travel to LA. Filled with a good ratio of restaurants and stores. Of the restaurants located here is Mendicno Farms, True Food, and North Italia. There are a few more that I can't remember. As of stores, there are clothing, bathing suits, candy store, and even a makeup store (think along the lines of the Fresh Face store) In the center lies a ice cream store and a bar (separate businesses in separate huts. A newly outdoor plaza with shops and restaurants right off Rosecrans before hitting Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach/El Segundo area. I came to check out Smitten Ice Cream. There are a few restaurants like Hopdoddy, Mendocino Farms and others along with other stores like Sugarfina and Lucky Brand there is also a Peet's as well. Over all a nice little shopping plaza also security drives around the parking lot as well. Looks like more stuff will be coming up as well. read more

My family loves The Point!! I have now been there for the grand opening, a girls day out with my girl friend, The Eagles Tribute concert, lunch at True Food Kitchen, lunch at Hop Doddy's and dinner at ShopHouse. I LOVE how new and clean everything is. I also LOVE that they do not allow dogs, which makes the grass a clean environment for our kids and people to picnic during the concert. If you look at my pics, you will know that I LOVE dogs... But I love pee and poop free grass for the kids. My favorite place to eat has been Hop Doddy's. It is very cute, has a funky vibe, and the food is delicious. True Food is good if you are craving very healthy food. ShopHouse is a skip it unless you want something quick and cheap, IMO. The lifeguard station is perfect for kids under 5 to play on. Actually, maybe it is best for 2-3 year olds. I am so excited to have an Athleta close to home. They comprise half of my day to day "mom" wardrobe. I am shocked at how reasonably priced a few of the stores are. You can get trendy pieces in the $25-$45 range at The Point. It is an upscale "mall" so most pieces will be upward of $60+. The outdoor furniture is lovely and comfortable. They have 2 nice outdoor water elements. Soul Cycle is here as well as Peet's Coffee. My son likes to play with the toys in the Bella Beach store. Mendocino Farms has not opened yet. I am very eager to eat there. I have heard it is delicious. Bottom Line: A cute place to check out if you live in the area... Too small to drive far to. Update: My family is here weekly. We love the Wednesday night concerts in the park. Mendocino Farms is our favorite place to eat. On Sundays, Athleta sponsors free yoga in the morning. The customer service is amazing and attentive at most of the stores. read more

2.5 in total: 5 stars for the beautiful tropical, modern landscaping, ambience, carefree feel and choice of restaurants! Unfortunately, 1 star for the extremely tiny size of this place, and 2ish stars for the variety of retailers. I found out about this place and finally went here today since I love visiting new, modern shopping and dining areas. The landscaping and ambiance are fantastic! If only the area was 10 times larger, then it would be good! If only the area was connected to the Plaza El Segundo shopping area and had it all blend together and be more walk-friendly. I drove an hour to this place, only to walk through it in literally 3-5 minutes and be done. I do like how the retail stores and restaurants are not at the usual malls, but you can order online if you're too far away like I am. Unfortunately, I have no reason to really return here since I'd be driving quite far. However, I guess if I want to just go somewhere different, it's OK. UPDATE: I revisited here in October 2018 because I was somewhat in the area already. They're constructing more shopping across the street because I see a Macy's coming in. Let's just hope it's not just 5 more stores and takes 5 years to open that part! read more

The landscaping here is just so beautiful! I think I was staring at the outdoor seating/patio furniture and plant life more than the actual stores! There are so many cute places to sit or lounge in the day in the sun and shade, and I'm sure it's lovely at night too. There are a handful of restaurants also; whether you're craving burgers, a salad, a fancy latte or Asian fare, they have it all. I've tried Mendocino Farms so far (see review) and can't wait to explore more. read more

OH, the stories I could tell about the development of this place! I kid, I kid. They started development on this little spot, YEARS ago on the corner of Sepulveda & Rosecrans and then it went dormant. I waited and waited. Finally, I move away and they develop it. Visited this past week and thought, "Finally, a nice little mall in this area!" Pros: Trendy restaurants Hip clothing stores Plenty of parking Well landscaped common areas w/everything from benches to foosball tables Cons: Traffic; this area was already congested and with entrances only on Rosecrans (available going either East or West) and Sepulveda (available only going North), this makes it more difficult Note: They should build a backroad connecting it to Plaza El Segundo; that would increase the number of ways to get into the mall. read more

I've been looking forward for this space to open. My first visit I was pretty sad to see the "No Dogs Allowed" signs everywhere. However several shops had doggie water bowls outside their entrance. Also, I spoke to one of the employees at Hopdoddy and they allow dogs in their patio area. They even had doggie treats and water bowls. I can't wait to try that place the next time I'm here. read more

I came here to pick something up at Sugarfina and ended up staying for longer than anticipated. Free parking certainly didn't hurt, and once I was out of the car and on my way, I was pleasantly surprised by the clean grounds and the set up of this shopping center. There were a lot of families out at this time, so the atmosphere was robust, but not off-putting where there were too many people. After the great experience I had at Sugarfina, I decided to stop off at Superba before heading back. I took a seat at the bar and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Truthfully I wasn't crazy about the meal, but I know to choose more wisely next time (I had picked Superba due to their awesome 'bombolini's' that are available earlier in the day). Go figure, I used to work down this way on Rosecrans and had The Point existed back then, this would have made this a much more appealing area to stay in. read more

Gorgeous, new plaza! Great addition to the South Bay! The South Bay was in much need of a place like this, because my BF and I are always looking for a place to walk around/hangout, and this is perfect! So many places to sit and lounge around, love the furniture, especially the cushioned chairs and lamps! I like the large fountain with the firepit in the middle of the plaza. Walking around at night, it does feel a bit too dark-they could use better lighting for the evening. Looking forward to coming here during the daytime. They have a stage and a lot of grassy areas to sit so I'm looking forward to coming here for some shows/concerts. They do not allow dogs here, at first I was bummed to hear that, but I understand that they would want to keep the grass clean for people to sit on and children to play. Everything here is brand, spankin' new, and a lot of places are not even opened yet. Honestly, I wasn't too interested and actually kinda disappointed in the store selection. I had never heard of some of the stores that I walked by, and some of the ones I have heard of, just weren't too interesting to me, but there are other shopping areas nearby like the H&M across the street. I'll just be coming here for dining and lounging. We checked out North Italia for dinner, and it was pretty good. Can't wait to check Hopdoddy and Mendocino Farms during upcoming visits. I like this outdoor mall. I see so much hate, mostly early on when it opened, but I like this spot. There is a great variety of stores. The restaurants are all good, cute clothing stores, and some accessories.....not to mention some very good ice cream in the middle. This place is always clean and always busy. In the center of the mall area, there is a play place for kids which is very thoughtful. The decor for the place is very upscale and exactly what you would expect for Manhattan. read more

Stay tuned...as half the shopping center is not open yet. What is open is a nice add to the South Bay. They will have free summer concerts and Athleta has free Sunday yoga at 10am on the lawn. The parking is good right now but when everything is open I don't know if there's enough. Hence the three stars until I can assess the full situation here. Don't come during peak hours you won't find parking. On weekends the place is overrun with small children, admittedly not my kinda place. I bring that up because it won't be a good place for a weekend brunch date (unless it's with kids of course). After work it's a nice spot for a drink/dinner but you have to deal with parking towards the end of week (Wed-Fri). Might be 3 1/2 or 4 stars if they built a parking garage. read more

Finally the southbay gets a nice outdoor shopping center that has a nice open park feel in the middle. Something that the westside/santa monica has a lot of. There is a lot of free parking around all the shops. While not all shops and restaurants are open most are. There is valet parking in front of shophouse restaurant. For now its a nice addition to the area. Not too sure why everyone is mad about no pets allowed. There are many parks and beaches that dont allow pets. If you have a service animal by law they cant stop you from bringing it along. read more

There is even a playground for the kids. They host free work outs here on select days of the month. It's a dainty spot with high end selection of stores. For a relatively small space, it has a big presence. It's a clean, modern, pretty, and well-lit place that pulls off feeling like a Disney-ish city park within a perimeter of shops and restaurants, that are borderline snooty, but tolerably so. The foosball table is a nice touch- I'd like to see more stuff like that (Ping pong table, shuffleboard) than the cheesy beach shack which appears to have no purpose. I can recommend North Italia and True Food (separate reviews). The insanely-lit Sugarfina is great if you want to see your date's every pore. read more

No dogs allowed, it's a completely outdoor mall! Are you serious? On top of that there are restaurants within the complex that allow dogs. So confusing and contradictory. It doesn't make any sense. Y'all stupid for this and you should just allow dogs since very other outdoor shopping center in LA allows dogs. There is no reason not to. I don't know what this shopping center offers or if it's any good because I brought my dog at a restaurant that claimed it was dog friendly, but discovered I could not walk around with my dog. read more

Wow since I'm never in this area I didn't know such shopping center was in the works of opening. Well it's here and a lot of the businesses are now open. I came here to go have dinner at one restaurant but I'm bummed that I didn't have time to walk around and see what is new here. There's so many new restaurants, shops and so much to do here now. When I came this week there was a band playing outside too and people gathered around and sat in the grass area to listen to them. They sounded great by the way. More great news that there's A LOT of parking there so you do not have to worry about looking for parking during busy times. read more

Overall a neighborhood gem for an outdoor dining and shopping option. I don't live nearby therefore I can say I won't be able you enjoy as much. I walked around after brunch and there isn't much to do or shop within, shops choices are limited. There's peets coffee, a few other shops and many restaurants took choose from, basically it . What makes it great is the FREE parking. No tickets need, no time limitation, you can totally spend your time there! Truly a beautiful place to stop by and have a great meal, conversation , or cocktail outside in the huge grass & palms courtyard or in one of the fine Restuarants. The shopping is very good , though limited. Multiple types of new retails surround the big grassy courtyard. Benches & seating areas line the grass. A wonderful place to meet up, talk , shop, and dine. HopDoddy has my favorite Restuarant located at one corner. The Turkey burger is right on tender & spiced. The menu of select burgers can suit everyone's taste, yummy fries. True Foods is amazing as u may already know. I go for the soups. Delicious. The Italian restaurant is always busy and I love the outdoor seating. Lastly, Mendocino Farms can't be beat, enjoy that eatery as well. Beyond the sunshine , the great class of people , and the retail , it's a great place to chat and meet up. It's not posh, it's not just for business nor nannies and kids. It's for everyone. This is a martini and craft beer a place, with Resturants like Noth Italia, Hopdoddy, and True Food Kitchen. The place can get packed for lunch, so parking can be tough. Not the biggest center, but with free parking and beautiful layout it's a local gem. Plenty of shopping and eating options, but without huge crowds it's a cool place to escape and relax. There's a small kids area, couple of fountains and for you selfie lovers there are a quite a few backdrops that demand your smartphone. Nestled between the Manhattan Beach mall and the El Segundo center this place feels like a getaway. Mostly done window shopping here, yet the appeal is there.
