Crowds were exponentially greater! Lines for several stores (including Olive Young) to get in and for Ramen blew my mind. If you want a place to watch the world cup, courtyard is ready and inviting. This area was nice with the high rise century city backdrop. Although it was more crowded than I expected, meeting friends for lunch was great. The restaurant choices are wonderful. We planned to eat at one spot, but due to the wait we changed it up and it was a total hit. Parking was crazy! Lines to go up and down, it took forever to pull in a spot. The prices are expensive too if ya make a day here. Very few places validate.

Westfield Century City came to the rescue as it was about 7 miles away. Cool beans! Parking is plentiful. First hour of parking is free. Additional hours will be charged at the current rates accordingly. We were here for almost 5-6 hours. It went by really fast. It was our first time here so didn't know what to expect. Shortly upon arrival, we figured out it's an outdoor shopping mall with an upscale mix of name brand stores, boutique shops, elevated restaurants, food court with quick bites/snack/drink vendors, and fun entertainment. Overall exterior was well cared for in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. It wasn't super busy nor crowded which is great sometimes because congestion of people traffic may make our dining and shopping experience a bit hard to handle. We got to see the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall Pop Up showcased in the huge courtyard. It brought back some nostalgia. Neat retro activity! We hit the food court first since we were starving. We grabbed a little something from Tosai Sushi, Poukei, AC Barbeque, Fuwa Teriyaki Grill, O'Gusto, and Massis Kabob. A few were good, but not all. Check out my reviews for each one. Thanks! After our lunch, we walked around to look for drinks and desserts. We indulged in a little something from Chamberlian Coffee, Chagee Modern Tea House, Cafe Knotted, Oakberry Acai, Wushiland Boba, K. Minamoto, and Bacio di Latte. Yes, we hit most of the good sweet spots. Yum! We weren't here to shop so didn't go into any clothing stores or boutique shops. Although, we did walk into a Pop Mart to satisfy my curiosity. Colorful store with interesting dolls. Didn't buy anything though. We barely scratched the surface at this mall. We hope to come back as a returning customer to some of the biz supported and be a new customer to other businesses that we haven't explored as of yet. See you here!

There's an area where you can see about 3 floors of stores. I think the overall look of this mall is very pleasant and modern. There was also a recent pop up related to Pokemon in the middle of the mall which I think is really cool. I think there's a good amount of restrooms to find. Parking is free and there's lights to show if there's any open spots. I think one evening it was super dark and I was shocked that there wasn't any lighting and I found that to be pretty dangerous, but hopefully it's just because of the changing times of day. It's very family friendly and a good child playground, and also close by the 405 freeway which is very handy. Every time I'm here, I'm on a limited time to shop and browse!!!

As somewhat expected in a highly populated area in a big city, be vigilant and watch out for yourself, because despite cameras everywhere and the occasional security personnel, you tend to see some shady characters lurking around. Location 4 stars: In the Fairfax District area of Los Angeles, to the East of the original Farmer's Market. The Grove has a huge but very busy parking structure, so while you may have to journey to the upper levels, you will eventually find parking. Although some restaurants will validate part of the parking fees, be prepared to pay somewhere between $10 and $30 depending on how long you stay and which stores you visit. Their validation rules are fairly complex and not straightforward, so be sure to read all the fine print. They also have Valet parking on premises. Venue 4 stars: Nice modern open air set up with a Nordstrom, Zara and H&M and a bunch of smaller stores, an AMC movie theater, a Barnes and Noble, a Cheesecake Factory, and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants to fit most tastes and budgets. One catch being that the Grove parking lot cannot be validated by the Farmers Market stores and vice versa. Once you are on premises you can use the trolly to move from one end of the venue to the other. Also keep in mind that the Original Farmers Market is literally next door and attached to the Grove, which dramatically increases your food options.

However, I decided to just kill some time and go into few of their department stores that they have before my meeting with a potential client that was scheduled for 5pm. This is a HUGE 2 story mall with escalators and elevators operating just fine. With clean restrooms, stores, and great service. I went into Macy's and was looking for an outfit to buy for an upcoming wedding. Looked around, but couldn't find anything that captured my eye/attention. Later, went to Zara, one of their most iconic, expensive stores. They have many stores from Bloomingdales, to Macy's to Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Diesel, Roberto Cavalli, Bath & Body Works, Tiffany & Company, and a lot more. Just to name a few. All associates that I dealt with were very helpful, nice and professional. They no longer have the big Food court. They do have sporadic snack shops inside, but there are a few restaurants on the ground floor, such as H&H Steakhouse, Nicolas Eatery, and ABSteak. Some chain spots such as Starbucks and Wetzel's Pretzel are also available. Parking surprised me with their fair prices. They have a parking garage, rates are very inexpensive and affordable. Still, it sounded worth a trip to the mall to check out Laderach. In a word, Yes. Hailing from Switzerland, their chocolate strikes me as rich and delicious, and not ridiculously expensive. True, some of their chocolates are more expensive than others. But, I was able to find something that seemed just about right. I love how they wrap the chocolate, too. There's a ribbon and a pretty bag to walk it out. This is perfect for a gift - or maybe something special for your own self. They offered samples, too, which is always a great idea. I can think of a California chocolate institution that does that, too. And while I might have considered the other company, Laderach was easy to get to and certainly has the goods. Highly recommended. Staff was friendly, informative, and helpful, too.

While it was great to see only two empty storefronts, most businesses sell overpriced to super overpriced products to stay afloat. The mall is dated-looking, with a defunct water fountain, but the open second floor bathed in natural sunlight gives off soothing, chill vibes. The food court has about 9 places, mostly Korean but also a Vietnamese and Japanese katsu options. We ate fresh bi bim naeng myun (very chewy buckwheat noodles), ja jang myun (chewy noodles with black bean sauce and a nice amount of minced beef or pork), and fish cake on a skewer. Some places charge for a to go container and the cranky employee at the naeng myun place (the name's only in Korean, Kang San Myun Ok, refused to sell me to go in separate containers. Excuse me for wanting to separate the chewy noodles from the broth, as the noodles will lose elasticity from a long drive. The food court had many televisions broadcasting a World Cup match. There eating area is spacious with tables are cleared and wiped quickly. The outdoor dining are was closed the day we went. The supermarket is huge, organized and has the viral fruit-shaped ice cream that I adore, for $4.99 each. There's a Cake House bakery with mildly sweet Asian pastries and hot beverages. Their cakes are very expensive and beautiful. Cake slices are also sold. The mall has women's clothes, skin care, a bank, bookstore, children's toys, handbags and jewelry, and knick-knacks or collectibles. There's even a flower shop on a parking level right by the supermarket entrance. We were surprised to spend about 4 hours there. It's easy to spend a lot of time here as the parking is free! Anchor stores Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom closed recently. They do have upscale tenants like Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, COACH and AllSaints. There are also places to eat like Din Tai Fung and Cheesecake Factory. The Cayton Children's Museum is a fun entertainment option for kids. Santa Monica Place is three levels and has a L.A. Metro Rail stop nearby.

Since Nordstrom moved out it's just so eerie. Not a lot going on. I happened to come in as I was checking out a potential new gym which is coming in - Club Studio - and they're going to be pretty huge and take the old Bloomingdales space, people were super friendly and helpful so hopefully that will help but Santa Monica is gonna need a lot more investment in order to drive the people back to shop in person because there is really no good selection of stores of value - just a few boutiques and some brands like Nike or Johnny Was or Paige. Din Tai Fung and Cheesecake on the top floor which is great but other than that... let's hope for more stores in the future.

There is street parking in the area but you have to be willing to walk about 8 minutes (a few blocks). Be sure to read the signs for any street cleaning or parking restrictions. There are also some meters if the street parking is full. Also, if you take a Pilates class at Homebody Studios, they validate structure parking for 90 minutes. That should be enough time. Don't forget to get your QR code for the validation.

When I entered at 8:30 pm there was an attendant at the gate. When I left at 8:50pm there was no attendant and putting my validated ticket into the machine at the gate made me pay $2. Pressed on the call button resulted in no response. The next week on a Friday, I pull in around 8:25pm and there's an attendant there so I told her about my experience before (validated ticket with no attendant) and she was not very helpful but said that there needs to be an attendant for a validated ticket to work. So, I asked how long she'll be there until, which she said 10pm. I left 15-20 minutes after entering the structure. As I was pulling up the gate, I SEE HER WALKING AWAY FROM THE GATE. I waive at her with my ticket and she looks at me and shakes her head (sorry I can't help you) as she continues to walk away. WTF! This parking structure is absolutely ridiculous. The "complimentary 15 minutes" is also a joke because no one can get in and out in under 15 minutes. Don't go to the Platform if you have to use the structure to park.
