2nd time coming in. Decent tap selection, decent food, innocuously trendy soundtrack going of 90s-2000s 'alt' music. Just feels like someplace that really wants to be something more than that it is something. Lots of old Seattle graphics, particularly in the restroom. I just don't get the feeling that anyone involved in the design or execution actually gave a care more than they wanted to seem like they did. If you think Red Robin is a cool slice of Americana, this may be your thing. Had the ghost pepper wings. Good spice, decidedly not melt your face off ghost peppery, but good. Denizens of the Burien area were probably wondering what was taking the new owners of the former Mick Kelly's so long to renovate the inside of the place and reopen. Now that The Point has opened, the answer is fairly obvious. The interior looks like some industrial designer's wet dream. Exposed conduit leading to the ceiling fixtures is bent to look like some sort of winding road for the electricity to follow. The light fixture in the men's room is made of about a dozen goose-neck lamps arranged in a star pattern. And the bartop is polished concrete. Which is all fine, except that you don't eat the décor; you eat the food. In my single experience, the food wasn't all that good, especially given the prices, which seemed high. I popped in planning to have lunch one recent afternoon expecting some decent pub grub. What I saw was a menu with prices that seemed out of line for the ambiance and the area. A "classic" 1/2 pound burger was $10.95; $13.95 if you wanted Wagu beef. A "classic grilled cheese sandwich" was $8.95. Salads ranged from $6.95 for the house salad to $8.95 for a black bean and roasted corn number. $7.95 would get you either a classic Caesar or an iceberg wedge salad. In a nod to the current food fad, most items were either "gluten-free" or had a gluten-free option. And yes, it's mostly a fad. Only one in 133 people -- less than 1% - have Celiac disease, compared to 4% with other food allergies. I decided on chicken wings ($9.95 for seven; an odd number, I know!) and a pint of Stella Artois ($5.50). The wings came with either "house BBQ sauce" or a sweet and sour Thai basil sauce. Because I prefer my wings spicy, I asked for the house BBQ sauce and a side of Tabasco. When the wings came, they were slathered in a sweet, sticky sauce with not-so-finely minced onions and other veggies sticking to them. After trying one, I had to wipe the sauce off the rest and rely on Louisiana's finest exported condiment for the rest of the meal. I didn't stiff the bartender - he was attentive and he didn't prepare (or price) the food - but a $20 bill for a snack that wasn't very good seemed too high to me. Doubt I'll be back. read more

We were driving around Burien asking ourselves what we wanted to eat and my friend asked me if I had ever eaten at The Point, I said no and she had not either, so we took a chance. I ordered the Pork Street Taco at the recommendation of our Waiter whose same I cannot remember, but he was a great waiter and all around nice guy. My friend went with the Mahi Mahi Tacos . We both believe that world is a much better place because of the Taco and we have probably had them from everywhere in the Seattle area, including food trucks on the side of the road. The Point Tacos were very good. The tortillas had a little crunchiness to them, but not too much. The meat was tender and had a little bit of hot bite to it. I tried the Mahi Mahi and would order that also again. Looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu. Oh, and The Point Pilsner is a fine little beer indeed. read more

We've ordered once from the Point. Had the beef tacos. The meat was good. I think we ordered from here instead of a Mexican restaurant because my child does not like corn tortillas (grrrrrr) and the Point tacos are on flour. I also just wanted to try it again. There was both a salsa and some kind of garnish on the taco. I used both thinking they know what they are doing. The result was a very mayonaise-tasting mish-mash of things that either don't belong together or don't belong on a plate at all. I would have done better to skip it all, provide my own cabbage topping and hit it with a bottled hot sauce. If the Point can fix this issue, I might overlook the fact that they are charging for $15 for two tacos when I can get six arguably better tacos from a couple different Mexican places around the corner for about the same price. I want to love this place and patronize it more, but similar results the next time we try it will not yield happy customers or repeat business. read more

Yay for a great bar in Burien!!!! The new addition is 21 and over with a nice small patio area. Also has great seating next to huge open windows. Great place to enjoy the sunshine! Staff was super great!!! Really helpful with all our questions and request! I always love a place with a great happy hour and they have you covered with both food and drink discounts! We got the cheese curds, the strawberry jalapeño jam is delicious!!!! Also the meatballs were great too!! Not happy hour got the point burger and it was perfect! The bacon jam is a great addition to a burger!!! For drinks they have a good amount of beer on tap and also one cocktail on tap. The house cocktail was a great summer drink!!! Light and refreshing! The Point has awesome food! I love their tacos, chicken wings, and their tots! You must get the ranch sauce for the wings and tots! And I know I'm going to get the best service when I'm their! Danny, she's the best!! They also got dart boards, skee ball, oversized connect four and a bunch of other board games that you can play with your friends!! Eh. This was my reaction after leaving this place. I wanted to watch the end of the Lakers-Bucks game somewhere near Burien and this was the place I got. Nice location, vibrant on a Friday evening. The customer service was great and we got checked on frequently. I was craving wings and ordered the ghost pepper wings and the beer battered fries. The wings tastes like buffalo wings but had no pizzazz or flavor dry also i thought it would drip too hard, but i was disappointed. The beer battered fries tasted like regular ol fries thin cut I'd rather have Wendy's fries. The strawberry Jalapeño sauce though was slapping probably made the fries bearable. Total was 18 bucks and I felt sad at the end. I'll go here again maybe as an emergency spot to watch a sporting event and grab a drink only because the customer service was great, but I'll stop by elsewhere for food. read more

Alaska airline screwed up our flights and we got stuck in Seattle , but this place definitely helped our moods. Amazing service,drinks, and food. Eh, The Point is okay, but there's better options near by. The decor looks nice and the service is friendly, but the food leaves a lot of be desired. The first time I went to The Point I got some sort of burger with a chickpea patty. The chickpea patty was flavoured nicely but it fell apart quickly and completely and utterly failed as a burger. The fries were the best part. The next time I ordered the pasta. Pass on that one! Texture wise, the pasta and veggies were cooked perfectly, but the taste is completely one note and just downright bland. Great new restaurant in the Burien area. The interior has a ton of seating and it has a very industrial feel which was executed very well. They have an ok list of beers on tap. There are the typical Manny's and Guinness, they also had a good summer ale on tap. The food here was excellent. At first I thought the menu seemed kind of small but the food was delicious. I had the point burger. I got it medium and it was cooked perfectly. It had a delicious bacon jam and Gouda cheese as well as arugula. It was on a brioche bun which held up well with the burger and didn't fall apart. The burger also wasn't too greasy. It came with fries which were also super tasty. Brunch in Burien. My party and I arrived just before noon. We picked our own seats and you seat yourself here. Our waiter greeted us and took our drink orders right away. After about 10 mins, our waiter took our food orders. Perhaps a good 20 mins later our food arrived. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The overall taste was alright. I paired this with the classic mimosas which was amazing. After we finished eating and chatting, we asked for our check. It took another 20-30 mins to get our checks. Overall, my experience has been okay. Knocked down 2 stars as the food was okay and the service was a bit slow. read more

Worst service EVER. Mediocre food. We walked in at about 11:30am on Sunday. The sign at the host stand said to seat ourselves. So we did and we chose to sit outside on the patio. There were several other people sitting outside. No servers in site. After a few minutes, I walked in and grabbed us some menus. We chose our food and waited. More time passes and a guy comes out to deliver mimosas to the table next to us. He asks if we've been helped and we say not yet. A few minutes later, a server comes out. She asks if we want to order a drink but we order everything. 5 minutes later, still no coffee. No server in sight. Then she finally shows up with these tall, skinny coffee mugs. No spoons. We ask if we can have spoons to stir our cream and she informs us their spoons don't fit in the coffee mugs. Then she says she can bring us straws, we say ok. I'm not even kidding, it took another 5 or so minutes for the straws. We ended up stirring with our knives. Also, the coffee wasn't good. The food came and was ok. We were thinking it would have to be pretty amazing to make up for the apathetic server and sloooooow service. We had to ask for everything. Like walk in, find someone and ask. When the bartender came outside, I asked if he was the manager. He didn't seem to know but said he kind of was at that moment. So I let him know what was going on. I said we didn't want money off food, just wanted to give constructive feedback. He was not at all receptive. It was like telling a brick wall. Had he been receptive and understanding, I wouldn't even be writing this review! We will not waste our time here again. read more

Things I like: * No kids * Menu changes from time to time * LOVE that they took the macadamia nuts out of the skillet cookie * Cocktails are solid * Service has always been solid Things I don't like: * Cocktails are well thought out, but a bit on the weak side - not super weak, but enough that it's noticeable * The variety on the menu seems off - I mean it's there, but I have trouble finding things to get really excited about - maybe if they added another really different entree and appetizer or something? I don't know. If they fixed the things I don't like, this would be a 5 star place in my opinion. We were the first ones there so I can't really tell how the vibe was, but my friends told me it's normally filled with people and loud; it's a local Burien hotspot. We split the quesadilla, which I would highly recommend putting the pork inside. I got the Point Burger with fries. It had roasted tomatoes with a little char grill, arugula, melted cheese, and bacon jam. It looked small when it arrived but it was so flavorful and rich that I couldn't even finish it. Maybe that's also because the fries were so tasty! I would recommend eating the fries with garlic aioli. Next time I come, I plan to try the fried green beans and the polenta and portobello. read more
